Fresh Cut Floral Stem

I have used the beautiful new Simon Says Stamp Fresh Cut Floral Stem die from their new
Just a Note release, to make a missing you card!...
I wanted to make the color of this flower something "different"!  Missing you, to me is kind of a "blue feeling", so I went with three shades of blue for my flower.  I die cut the flower from white cardstock, and brushed the three shades on, with blending brushes.  I colored the leaves and stem with a marker.  I adhered all the pieces of the flower together, and then to the stem.  I adhered the flower to a panel with the sentiment stamped on it.  I popped up the panel on the card, and added some enamel dots for some bling (and the two colors went PERFECTLY with the colors of the flower).  Here's a close up...
Hoping that you are having a great start to this week, and the last day of July!  I am thankful for a bit of relief from the scorching heat that has hit Virginia the last week...today a "cool" 87ยบ, and the next couple days, expected to be even a few degrees less...yay!!!  Try to stay cool, hydrated, and happy!
Thanks so much, for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Just a Note Blog Hop Day 2!

I am so excited and thrilled to be a part of today's Simon Says Stamp Blog Hop over at the Simon Blog!  I am, with a wonderful group of artists, helping celebrate the new Just a Note release!  I have used the beautiful new Super Sunflower Plate and the Retro Wishes stamp/die set sentiments, to make three cards using the plate die and sentiments in some different ways...

I love sunflowers!  This die has beautiful sunflowers and is so versatile!  The sentiments are such a cool font and come with dies, so they are a perfect fit for me and for these cards!...
This first card, I simply die cut the plate, colored with markers, and adhered to a piece of light gray cardstock!  I chose to layer the frame with two more layers, of  simply the frame.  To do this, I hand cut the flowers and leaves off of the frame, adhered the frames together, and adhered them to the full, colored plate, keeping all the flowers and leaves to create more cards with!   I added the sentiment, that I had stamped with two shades of brown ink...the darker first, then a bunch of stamping with the lighter shade(all done in my MISTI).  I layered it, and adhered. I also gently bent the petals of the flowers to give them some dimension...love that about the design of these flowers and leaves!   Here's a close up....

Then, I took the "leftovers" of the first card, plus one more die cut plate, and made two more cards..
For this first one, I used two of the flowers from the plate for each sunflower.  I used the leaves from the right side of the plate die, one set of leaves for each flower.  I colored, layered, bent the petals, and then adhered to a split panel of white with a sentiment from the same set as the first, and a scrap piece of cardstock with embossed lines.  Here's a close up...

The other "leftover" is my kind of clean and simple...
I used one of the flowers from the plate die, with a stem and a leaf, and used a second one to layer on top of it.  I die cut a circle on a panel, and stamped yet another of the pretty sentiments from the Retro Wishes stamp set.  I poppe up the panel on the card and adhered the flower into the circle!  Here's a close up...
Okay...I had SO much fun!!  My fun was above, your fun is below!!

Flower Happy

I love the fun flowers and sentiments in the new Simon Says Stamp Flower Happy stamp/die set!  I have used a few of the flowers and a couple sentiments, to make a couple cards!...
I will give credit to the Case This Sketch sketches for my layouts!  CAS(E) this Sketch was a weekly card challenge that ended a couple years ago, I LOVED this challenge, and was able to be a part of some of the challenges...was even asked to be a guest designer!    The sketches are still available via Pinterest, HERE!   They are wonderful for inspiration!  I used my scoring board to score lines above and below the stamped sentiment, scoring on the front, then from the back, then on the front, and then from the back again.  I stamped, die cut and adhered the flowers to the card, and used enamel dots for the centers.  Here's a close up...
The second one, I made a mini slimline card with three flowers and a sentiment...
I stamped, die cut, layered, and adhered the flowers and sentiment to a panel, along with some more of the enamel dots. for centers,  I popped up the panel in the center of the card.  Here's a close up...
Hoping you are having a great week...any time I get to craft and make cards, it's a great week!!

Splendid Daisies

I have used one of the new Simon Says Stamp embossing folder/die sets, from the Out of This World release, to make a card filled with daisies,
First, I die cut the three daisies, then embossed them in the embossing folder.  Then I took a gray piece of cardstock, and embossed it with the full daisy image;  I used a green marker, and colored the stems and leaves.  I also used a white gel pen to color the two little daioes that had no dies for them.  I then colored the centers of the embossed and die cut daisies.  I adhered the daisies to the gray cardstock, and added a sentiment strip.  Here's a close up...
I think it's so cool what these new embossing folders with dies can do to help go beyond simply embossing...it is so much fun!!

Patterned Squares in Rainbow

I had such fun with the Simon Says Stamp Patterned Squares stencil, from the Out of This World release!...
I decided to make the squares with a rainbow of colors.  I used the smallest of the Simon blending brushes, and although the colors are not perfect, they still make for a cool rainbow!  I hand cut each of the squares, then framed them with black glossy cardstock behind each square.  I added a very cool happy birthday sentiment from a new birthday sentiment stamp set, also from this new release!  Here's a close up...
As alot of the country is in a heat wave, please stay cool, wherever you are!

Sunrise Stem

I have used one of the beautiful new Simon Says Stamp flower die sets from the Out of This World release, to make a card...
I die cut the Sunrise Flower and stem, colored with markers, and adhered together.  I embossed the Simon Wonky Heart die onto the card panel.  Then, I used the Simon Heart Mask to blend color onto the embossed heart.  After coloring, I stamped the sentiment.  I added some tonic drops above and below the sentiment.  I cut down the panel, and colored the top and bottom with the same marker that I used for the flower.  Here's a close up...
Hope you are having a great start to your week!  I have been having so much fun with new release...if you haven't checked it out, yet, hope you will take some time to take a look!!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Tim Holtz Distress Embossing Glazes!

Today, I have a card to share with you that I made using some of the wonderful new Tim Holtz Distress Glazes!
I die cut the Simon Says Stamp Fancy Happy Birthday die, and layered it a few times.  I then masked the die cut sentiment in sections, and used the Simon Embossing ink and a different colored glaze on each section.  I also used two Simon Says Stamp balloon dies from their newest Out of This World release, using two of the glazes for them, and white floss to keep them flying but grounded!  I adhered everything to the Simon Says Stamp Mini Slimline Lattice die.  Here's a close up of the cool shine of these glazes!...
Hope you are having a great weekend...more to come with these fun glazes!

Coffee Cash Cup

I have used the Simon Says Stamp  Latte Gift Card Slider die set, along with the Lawn Fawn Tropical Leaves dies,  to make a birthday card for my coffee cup, plant loving daughter!...
I die cut the cup, then adhered it together with a second die cut cup piece, like HERE, to give is a back for sliding the money in.  Then, I die cut two of the slider pieces, one to hold the money, the second to hide it.  I DID, however, make the holding slits a bit closer together to hold money instead of a giftcard, by only die cutting  one side at a time, then turning it to the other side, and die cutting the second slot.  I added the pretty leave, and done.  Oh, and I made an envelope for the cup, 5x6.  Here's a pic of what the slider looks like opened...
This die is perfect for any occasion, for giftcards and for cash!  Happy crafting!!

Mountainous Sunset

I have made a card with the cool new Simon Says Stamp Mountainous Cover Plate die, from the new Out of This World release,  to make a card for a friend...
I chose five colors of blue and one yellow piece of cardstock, all scraps, for my card.  I die cut the plate with each color, and adhered them to a panel that I had embossed the mountain range onto.  I cannot claim originality for my color choices, as I googled mountain ranges, and used one of the beautiful mountain range pictures for my inspiration.  With that in mind, I used some orange ink, and lightly brushed some orange onto the yellow cardstock piece.  I added a sentiment(one of my favorite, I use it all the time!) that I had already stamped and die cut...a super simple card, and I love how it turned out!  Here's a close up...
Hope you are having a great start to your July!  I have been having so much fun in my craftroom, lately...I have recently discovered that I need to set aside some time every day for creating!!
