CAS(E) this Sketch! 78...Emboss Paste+Paint

The sketch this week at CAS(E) this Sketch is cool!  The wavy lines had me thinking of the Leaves stencil by Simon Says Stamp!  I used some green craft paint mixed with my translucent embossing paste, and stenciled my leaves.  Here's my card and the sketch...
Super clean and simple.  I tried and accomplished to not totally mix the paint with the paste to get a marbled/varied look on the leaves.  I stenciled on a total A2 unfolded card...stenciling is easiest and turns out best if it is done on a flat surface...so I cut down the panel after the paste/paint dried.  How do I know this?  I tried it, stenciling the panel already cut, with the stencil's leaves hanging over the edges...got paste/paint under the stencil...just saying:)!!  Here's the sketch...
I used a sentiment from Winnie and Walter...love these sentiments!!!
Here's a close up of the glossy embossed leaves...love the varied color mixed with the uneven texture and shine...
OK...FUN!!!

Celebrate with Stars

I used all the die cut hearts from the CARD I made a couple days ago, and made another rainbow colored card...
I used my Quickstik and some glossy accents to quickly and easily adhere together and layer all the stars.  I then adhered a smaller stack to a larger stack of stars and adhered them to a hand cut curved edged card.  I used my sharpies and mark it markers to color the top layer of stars in rainbow colors.  I die cut and layered the Penny Black sentiment and covered that and all the black and colored stars with glossy accents, adding a piece of black paper to the bottom of the card...

Remember Paper Piercing?

I was thinking about paper piercing the other day, went onto Pinterest, found a pattern that I thought was sweet to make a card with, and ...
I haven't seen paper piercing in a while, and I had done the paper piercing along the edges of the card, but I wanted to try my hand at a swirly pattern...even if it's not that "IN"...it's "IN" to me:)!!  I copied the pattern, by AngelOlenka (she has a bunch!!...thank you so much Angel!!) cut it down, taped to my cardstock panel of the same size and pierced away...I skipped piercing the flower and it's leaves!!  What fun!!  I had recently got my Tim Holtz needle...only click it ONE level protruding the needle...clicking it two levels makes the needle too big/long and holes too big...just letting you know:)!!  Used some layered flowers and a sentiment from Paper Smooches...gray papers stampin up...LOVING GRAY:)!!  Here's a close up...

You Rock Stars

I was playing with a new set of little star dies from Simon Says Stamp today!!  These dies come all attached to one another..broken in half, there are 2 strips of 4 different sized stars...
So, I decided to use them as they are...all connected... to make my card...

I added a rainbow of colors behind each row of stars with a combo of Simon Says Stamp sentiments.  Here's a close up...

CAS·ology 97...BEE

I haven't played the CAS·ology challenge in a while, couldn't resist the challenge this week, what great fun...
I only have one bee image stamp, but I think it's cute, and combined with a how to by Jennifer McGuire...I just HAD to try it, here's my card...
I decided to combine the bees with the folded card technique I viewed on Jennifer's site.  I half die cut two hexagons, then die cut and layered those hexagons, and fully cut one more hexagon on the card and one smaller one underneath it for 3 bumble bees to pop out of...
This shows the card partially open...
This shows the inside, where I added stamped winding trails to the bees:)...
My daughter wasn't happy that there was so little room to write inside the card, but I thought...Bee Happy says it all...say I love you and sign your name...what more do you need?  What fun this was!!

Less is More 173...Die Cut...Pink Flower

This week's challenge at Less is More is a recipe: Die Cut...to include a die cut on your card:)!
I have a bunch of die cuts on my card...
I got my inspiration from the Simon Says Stamp store site.  I was making a link for another post and went to this set of dies to create my link and was inspired by one of the sample cards.  I have no idea who made it, otherwise I would give credit for it...loved the scattered flowers with the single colored flower!!  My card is actually  2 layers...here's how I made it...
I used the new Simon Says Stamp Partial Die Cut Flowers dies...they do exactly as their name says...the dies partially cut the flowers on the card stock.  I die cut the main flower on the panel.

I then put a wide piece of Eclipse tape over the middle of the flower.  I used scissors and cut that strip off the panel, using the tape for my guide.
Then I used all the flower dies from the rest of the set of dies and filled each of the two cut panels full of partial die cut flowers.

I colored the main flower pink and added a smaller flower on top of the large one, adding an enamel dot.  The sentiment is also from Simon Says Stamp, Birthday Messages.  I popped up all three panels onto the card...giving it a multi-layered look...
What fun!!  Hope you all had a wonderful Monday!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
