Geo Flower Building

I have made a couple cards using the cool and fun Simon Says Stamp Geo Flower Building stamp/die set, a new background stamp, and a new CZ sentiment stamp, from the Beautiful Days release!...
This first one, I used two shades of purple for the die cut flower, the lighter purple for the background.  I die cut the flower and slightly curled the petals.  I adhereed the flower to a panel with one of the cool new CZ Design sentiments, and popped up the panel on the background.  Here's a close up...

The second one, I simply stamped, with no die cutting...
I stamped the leaves and flowers, then added a Tonic drop to just one of each of the flower's leaves.  I added a sentiment from a Simon set, and popped up on a card.  Here's a close up...
Working with this set was so much fun...endless possibilites of cards to create!
Wow...tomorrow is MAY!!  Almost 1/2 way through the year!!  I can't wait to see what's instore for the rest of the year...I'm SURE there is lots of FUN to come!!

Paper Hugs

I used the cool new Simon Says Stamp Bold Geometrics stencil, from their Beautiful Days release, to make a card for a friend in need of some hugs...
I used four colors of ink, and blended two rows of the stencil for each color,  masking as I went.  I went back over the colors a second time, this time lightly, without the stencil, to take away any white from the card.  I did the because I wanted to have solid color behind the white layered sentiment!  I adhered the panel to a card, and added some Tonic drops for interest.  Here's a close up...
Simply done, but such great fun!!  I really have such fun with stencils!!  Hope you have a great weekend, with lots of fun! Take care!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Wood Block Stamp Wednesday: Wind Caressed

I have made a simple card using the old and much loved Penny Black Wind Caressed wood block stamp...
The flowers on this stamp are so pretty, and delicate...I think it's beautiful!
I simply stamped the stamp on some textured Bazzill cardstock.  I colored with one purple marker, and dotted the tips of the stamen with white enamel accents.  I used a Simon Says Stamp sentiment, die cut and layered.  I popped up the panel on another piece of textured cardstock adhererd to a card.    This is the card I made on May 1, 2011...
Here's a close up of the card I made today...
Simply done, but sooooo  much fun!!  I pulled some of my favorite  wood block stamps out of their storage boxes, so hopefully will make another one very soon!!  Hope you are having a great week, and creating some fun wherever you are!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Flowers for Mom

I have used a couple of the pretty new Simon Says Stamp dies from their latest release, Beautiful Days, to make a card for a mom...
I used an old Simon ink...one of my much loved favorites for light stamping, Fog, and stamped a masked oval on a card panel.  I adhered a watercolored and layered Delicate Florals die cuts to the panel, along with a Fog colored and layered Fancy Mom die cut.  I just liked the way the color of the sentiment went with the worded background.  I tried SO many ways to make this card...with a heart and different sentiment, on watercolor paper as the background...coloring the watercolor paper background, flowers in the center, the flower on a thin panel in the middle...to the side...on black on silver, on white...suffice it to say, I have had my time with these flowers.  I'm not sure why it was so challenging,  but finally  going with Fog all the way, background, sentiment and then the card panel, just worked better than anything I had done...and I liked it.  I used a Simon stencil for the polka dots, and white ink, on Fog cardstock.  Here's a close up...
There is a HUGE crafting event going over at Simon Says Stamp in Ohio this weekend...CREATE!  The first time it's been held since the pandemic!  LOTS of companies are represented there this weekend, with take away projects, and the ability to purchase all kinds of products from the best companies in the business!  I would have LOVED to be there...I hope all that are there, are having a BLAST!  For those of you who maybe couldn't make it this year, maybe next year?!!  You can look for updates on instagram!  I hope you have a crafty weekend, no matter where you are!!

Three Square Daisies

I had the new Simon Says Stamp Five Squares dies from the Beautiful Days release on my desk today, and made a card, combining them with a much loved Simon Daisy die (Etched Layered Daisy Stem die), and an older sentiment...
I die cut three squares from patterned paper, and then used all the squares to make extras for layering...makes for quick die cutting when you have so many squares dies to die cut from!  I adhered three layers to each square, and adhered them to the card after stamping the sentiment(from Organic Fruits stamp set...so sorry, discovered that this set is no longer available after I started this post).  I adhered the die cut and colored daisy onto the squares, and finished!  Here's a close up...
I was having so much fun, I decided to make another like the first, but used some other die cut squares that I had been hoping to use with the squares from the first card, but loved them on their own...
The squares are from the Thin Frames die set, and the sentiment from Mother's Day Bouquet stamp set.  I layered each of the die cut thin frames twice each and adhered to a card with the sentiment already stamped.  I adhered the daisy, and again...done!  Here's a close up...
As with the name of this new release, we are having one of the most beautiful days, here in Chesapeake, VA...hope your day has had some beautiful in it, as well...and fun, of course!

Leafy Sprig Birthday Wreath!

I have used the pretty new Simon Says Stamp Leafy Sprig die, from their Beautiful Days release, to make a rainbow wreath for someone special's birthday!...
I die cut the sprigs in more of the pastel hues of the rainbow.  I adhered them with glue dots, to a card panel.  I then added a die cut and layered happy birthday die cut, and adhered that with glue dots, as well, to the wreath sprigs.  My wreath turned out to be a little longer than wide, so I decided to make my card, accordingly...it is 5"x5 1/2".  With a card that's bigger than an A2 card, it needed a bigger envelope, so I got my envelope maker out and made an envelope for my card.  Here's a cloe up...
I am having lots of fun in my craftroom, these days...hope you are enjoying this release as much as I am...so many wonderful new things!!

Beautiful Days Blog Hop Day 2!

I am so happy to be joining some amazing artists today, in celebrating Simon Says Stamp's newest release, Beautiful Days at the Simon Blog!  I have used one of the beautiful new stamp sets, making two cards, with two versions of one of the beautiful floral images that I am especially in love with!...
I'm not certain what flower the artist who designed them meant them to be, but they look like tulips to me, and I LOVE red tulips, so red tulips it is!  The first card is especially simply done...stamping, coloring, adding a sentiment from the set, and adding some enamel accents to the panel  for a little interest.  The wonderful thing about this image is that it is beautiful and large enough, that it can truly stand alone.  Here's a close up...
The second card, I used another version of the same image from the set...
Just as with the first card, I stamped, and colored the flowers, but cut out this image.  I popped it up on a panel that had a layered Simon thin frame.  I used one of the sentiments from the set, stamped, cut it into a strip and popped up over the jar.  Again...very simply done, but simple is my first and most favorite love, and these flowers are perfect for simplicity!  Here's a close up...
I had SO much fun making my cards..now it's your turn for some fun!

Spring Blossoms

I have made a card using the beautiful new Simon Says Stamp Spring Blossoms die from the brand new Beautiful Days release!...
From the minute I saw this die, I LOVED it!  I think it's so so pretty!  I see tulips when I look at this flower image, so red tulips it is!  I die cut the flowers, leaving all the pieces in the die.  I die cut a second set of flowers, and removed all the pieces. I used colored cardstock, and filled in the flowers and leaves, but accented the petals and leaves with markers, and then adhered two more layers over the colored die cut,  removing all the pieces. aganr.  I positioned a sentiment from another new stamp set from the release onto a card panel, and adhered the flowers to the panel, cutting the panel a little small, so the flowers slightly flowed off the panel on the top and bottom.  I then popped up the panel on the card.  I thought to add some bling...went back and forth on it, but LOVED it simply as was...simple.  Made me very happy!  Here's a close up...
Today was the first day of hops over at the Simon Blog, hope you will check it out, and also the one tomorrow(I have been asked to be a part of tomorrow's hop!)...so much fun and inspiration!

Beautiful Days Release!

I am celebrating Simon Says Stamp's newest release, Beautiful Days, with a Happy Birthday card, made with one of the beautiful new dies, Large Fancy Happy Birthday!...
I used the whole pad(minus the black, brown and gray) of 6"tiny polka dotted patterned paper, cutting small strips of each color.  I adhered them to a thin piece of paper, and cut out the sentiment from the strips.  This is what it looked like when first cut out, and what was left...
I then had a thought...use the leftovers for a top and bottom, above and below the sentiment...
Here's a close up of the layered sentiment, and popped up panel on the remaining strips...
Hope you will join the fun with the two blog hops over at the Simon Blog, tomorrow and Saturday, for LOTS of inspiration using the new products from this release!  Hope you have a happy day!
