Happy Birthday Fishes

As soon as I saw the new Bubble Parade die from Simon Says Stamp, I thought WATER...so I used the die and made an aquarium...
 I don't have many fish stamps, but found this little guy in my oldie stash (a Stampin Up stamp bought single on ebay), HERE is a link to ebay...A LOT of them for sale if you are interested:)!!    I stamped the fish three times, cut out and colored(I actually drew the black line near it's face after coloring the orange to make him look like a clown fish).  I stamped the blue paper with a Cover the Card stamp from Impression Obsession and covered the fish and backgrounds with acetate...
The sentiment is from Stampotique...have had it for a couple years, first time using it...YAY!!!
What fun I had making this card!!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

The Cutting Edge Challenge...#1!!

The day has finally come for our very first Cutting Edge Challenge – I'M SO EXCITED...I can’t wait for you all to play along, so let’s get to it, shall we?!
Okay, here’s the scoop...We're to be inspired by this AH-MAZING project created by Jackie Rockwell in some way, and include die-cutting (any and all forms accepted) in our design!  There’s so much about this project to be inspired by, right?!  I tend to interpret somewhat literally...here’s what I created:
 I chose my oldy but goody Spellbinders Sunflower die for my card...using a Simon Says Stamp die cut sentiment to put over my flower, and polka dotted paper underneath, like Jackie's.  I also tried to mimic Jackie's use of sentiments by putting "You are my" (a part of a Simon Says Stamp sentiment) above the flower.  I told you I'm literal... but I DID break the mold of my total literal interpretation,  and use a flower for my main image instead of a star:):)!!

We’d love to have you play along with us! If you click on through to The Cutting Edge Challenge Blog, you’ll find lots of information, including:
  • The two winners of the $25 Avery Elle gift certificates are being announced;
  • Our first Guest Designer, Kay Miller, is sharing her amazing take on the challenge;
  • The first half of the The Cutting Edge Design Team is sharing their samples for the challenge, and they are pretty spectacular;
  • The rules and regulations of the Challenge are listed; and
  • The InLinkz link-up tool for you to link up YOUR project!

So, what are you waiting for?!  You can find everything you need to play along HERE.  We can’t wait to see what you create!!
Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

More Cloud Banks

I have a couple more Cloud Bank cards to show you, made with the leftovers from my cards from a few days ago.  One a rainbow, the other a baby card:)!!...
 Made this card with colored vellum I purchased from Paper and More and  a retired stamp set from My Favorite Things: The Great Outdoors.  I wanted to make a kind of "window" with the vellum, and although it didn't turn out that way, I still liked the look of the vellum paper as the clouds.  This card is 6" x 4 1/4".

The baby shower card was made by layering the pink textured paper on the layered white leftover pieces.  I used a Simon Says Stamp baby die as well as the bottom portion of a Simon die: Heart Rainfall (minus the cloud...I cut with my all purpose snippers).  I die cut the "baby" and the "heart drops" onto the card, then layered and fit the layered sentiment and hearts into the die cut holes.  Clouds are so versatile, right?!

Wedding Cake Congrats

I love the wedding cake from the new Simon Says Stamp stamp/die set: Be Married!!  After trying a BUNCH of different layouts, I thought a cut out and frame, with an over the top die cut sentiment was the way to go to show off this pretty cake...
This first pic is one of the card laying flat...wanted you to see what it looks like totally unopened...

 Here it is partially open...

 A close up...I stamped the cake, embossed, die cut with the matching dies, layered, colored with markers (I googled wedding cakes and found a coral and blue flowered cake that I got my color inspiration from), dotted the centers with liquid pearls,  and layered the sentiment and glossy accented then adhered to framed card...

 I decided to add another of the sentiments from the set on the inside...

Cut Edge Flower Thank You

I continue to make thank you cards...here's a simple card I had fun making last week...
I stamped a large and small flower on copy paper(thin), cut them out, and used them as masks to stamp all the flowers.  I stamped the flowers near the edge of the card, and after I had stamped from one end of the card to the other, I cut the card off around the flowers closest to the edges.  I was almost going to turn the card the other way and leave the cut out section bare, but I loved this Walter and Winnie sentiment, so I decided to turn the card lengthwise and adhere a piece of black polka dotted paper underneath the flowers to give it a base to sit on.  Rounded the corners and done.  This was supposed to go in the Less Is More challenge to make a one layer card with off the edge image, but because I opted to put the black paper on, it no longer fit that challenge, it's all good:)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! The Long and Short Cloud Bank

I made a couple cards with the fun, new Simon Says Stamp Cloud Bank die and a new set of sentiment  stamps from Simon, Bring the Sunshine, that go perfectly with these clouds...
 I used  a fun sunshine die from Lawn Fawn, layering both the border of the clouds and the sun four times each...yes...I LOVE depth!!  This first card also uses a sentiment from Simon's Hello You for the "Hey".  I used two shades of bazzill gray for the clouds...love the texture on a clean and simple card.  Here's a close up...

This second card, I decided to use the same cloud die, making my card having the narrow sides at the top and bottom.  What I love about these dies(there are several similar dies to this one,with different shapes), is that they have the capability to be shortened, so they not only fit a card the long way, but also the short way, as well.  Using another sentiment from the Bring the Sunshine set and the gray remnants of the first card...
 I die cut a heart from Simon's Holiday Shapes dies and layered 4 times as well.  Here's a close up of this card...
I have the remnants of the white borders and a few extra borders...enough for a couple more cards...hopefully tomorrow?!  Having so much fun!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
