Christmas Stripes and Sentiments

I had such fun making cards with my Simon Strips dies recently, I tried a few more striped Christmas cards, this time using a few of the new Simon Says Stamp sentiments, one stamped and two dies, from their new Peace on Earth release...
Once you have the strips down to make a striped base, all you need is a sentiment!  For the first one, I used  one of the stamped sentiments and it's die from the new XL Christmas Greeting sentiment stamp/die set.  I stamped with versamark and white embossed.  Here's a close up...
The second one, a different pattern of stripes, a card with colors and sentiment for Hanukkah...
I used the cool new CZ Design Happy Hanukkah die and new Simon silver cardstock!   I layered the sentiment and attached to the card!  Here's a close up...
The third one, untraditional Christmas colors with another of the CZ Design sentiment dies from the new release...
Loved the look of these colors together...thanks google!  Here's a close up...
Some fun, quick and pretty easy Christmas cards that have endless possibilities with stripes and sentiments!  Hoping you have had a great weekend...November is tomorrow...wow!!

Leaves and Berries Christmas

I used one of the beautiful leaves stamps/dies from the new Simon Says Stamp Holiday Sprigs stamp/die/stencil set, from their new Peace on Earth release, and made a Christmas card...
Okay, I have to say...I LOVE a stencil with a stamp set!!  Stencils provide non colorers like me, an opportunity to color a bit better. working with blending brushes.  Stencils ALSO give you a chance to use all those ink pads that you never get to use when coloring with markers, and give you a greater diversity of colors to choose from when you do color!  I really had fun with this set!!  I stamped the leaves in my MISTI, with Simon smoke ink.  I then used the stencil to brush on Simon Evergreen on the leaves, and Simon Schoolhouse Red on the berries.  I then put my colored leaves back in my MISTI after dried, brushed with static bag, and stamped with versamark and gold embossed.  I die cut the leaves, and layered.  I stamped two of the sentiments from the set and embossed in gold.  I dotted the berries on the leaves with Tonic Morning Dew drops, and popped up the panel on an embossed panel and then card.
 Here's a close up...
Okay...this was super fun and love how they look after stamped, stenciled, embossed, die cut, layered and adhered to my card!
Thanks so much for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Hearts of Christmas

I used the sweet and pretty new Simon Says Stamp Outline Heart of Christmas die set from Simon's newest Peace on Earth release, to make a couple Christmas cards...
I LOVE this die!! I love hearts, love Christmas, so the two of them together is simply wonderful!!  I die cut the outline and the base.  I ran adhesive all over the base, then attached the emptied outline to the base.  I filled all the spaces of the tree with green, and the hearts with 2 shades of red, and one pink hearts. I also used the Simon kraft colored woodgrain cardstock for the tree's trunk.  I brushed my wink of stella marker over the star for some glitter.  I used the sentiments from the new Simon Heart of Christmas stamp set, and after adhering the tree to the panel, popped it up on a card.  Here's a close up...

The second one, just like the first, but made with untraditional Christmas colors...
I had recently been using the Simon Strips dies to make some striped Christmas cards with sentiments.  I liked this gold/black/white combo, but loved it with a gold hearted Christmas tree rather than simply with a sentiment....so I used it for the gold hearted Christmas tree!  Done just like the first, but for the star on top, I used a smaller star die cut in gold for the middle of the black one(my daughter's idea...I love their input when I'm stuck!).  I have to say the combination makes me happy!  Here's a close up...
Just had to share before going...my daughter and 3yr old granddaughter, who I hadn't seen in almost 2 years, surprised me a couple weeks ago for an almost two week visit!!  I was diagnosed with a prolapsed bladder a few months ago (women, KEGEL!), and the journey, since, has been really challenging.  My daughter helped me clean my gutters, paint my master bedroom, cook meals, and still found time to snuggle with me at night!  My other daughter, who lives close by, brought her 2 year old to visit every day, so my house was crazy fun!  To say it was wonderful is an understatement, and I cried for two days after they left.  I'm slowly getting back to life without family here, and back into my craft room, which served as my grand baby's bedroom for the last couple weeks(a couple dies did go missing, their replacements are in my cart at Simon😁!).  Feeling so very blessed by the love of family...

Laurel Leaves

I used the pretty new Simon Says Stamp Laurel Leaves Background Plate die, the fun new CZ Design Merry and Bright from the new Simon Peace on Earth release, and Simon Peace Love Hope Joy die to make a couple Christmas cards...
I think this background die is so pretty and versatile!  I chose to put a sentiment in the middle of all the pretty leaves, but also chose to cut away a few of the leaves, to give the sentiments some room to shine.  This first card, I die cut strips of colored cardstock, adhered to another piece of cardstock. I die cut the leaves twice, adhered together, and adhered to the strips.  I die cut and layered the sentiment and adhered to the card...done!  Here's a close up...
The second one, I used a sentiment die from the STAMPtember® release with the leaves...
I blended Broken China distress oxide ink on white cardstock and adhered the leaves over it.  I then took my white gel pen and put snow flakes all over the blue panel.  I added the layered gold sentiment and gave the leaves a little dimension by gently folding them in the centers.
Here's a close up...
Christmas can't come fast enough this year!!  Hope you are having a great start to your week, and staying healthy and safe!

Peace on Earth Blog Hop!

I am super thrilled to be a part of today's Simon Says Stamp Blog Hop, celebrating Simon's newest release, Peace on Earth!  I always get so excited when Christmas gets closer.  This new release has so many wonderful stamps, dies, and accessories for Christmas card making, and I have used three of the new dies, a stamp set, and new paper, to make a couple Christmas cards to share with you for today's hop...
I used the very pretty new Fine Petal Leaf Branches die set for both today's cards.  I used the leaves for this first card.  Below, you will see a picture of the red paper ring that I die cut, and ran my adhesive over, and then adhered all the leaf stems onto the ring(along with some added little glue dots).  NOW, I know the ring is red.  It would have been green had I thought that I would be using green paper for the background.  My idea when I make this wreath, was to have a red background...but that, as you can see, changed.  If you choose to make a white wreath, like I did, you could use a white circle, but I wanted something that would blend with the background.  I am thankful that the red circle is really thin, and doesn't show, but wanted to let you know why, in this picture, it is red.  Here's the pic I took while constructing it on an ipad cover...
I added part of the new CZ Design Merry and Bright die, hand cutting the Merry from the "&Bright" and then layering it.  I also added some tonic drops made on a piece of acetate, removed when dry and then adhered to the wreath.  I used some striped paper and some gold cardstock for framing.  Here's a close up...
The second  card, I used the other die from the Fine Petal Leaf Branches die set, to make another Christmas card...
I die cut and colored the flowers with leaves.   I used the pretty new Large Joy die and a stamped sentiment from the new Heart of Christmas stamp set for the card's sentiments.  I die cut a white "Joy", and colored it with the same red Sharpie that I used on the flowers then layered it.  I then adhered the die cut flowers and sentiment to the stamped card panel.  After using my green and red markers to color some of the cardstock for stripes on top and bottom of the panel,  I realized I only really needed color on the tips of the ends of the stripes, so I colored the rest of the stripes with just color on the tips, save the markers! Here's a pic of what it looked like underneath😳😁...
Again, I love the pretty detail of these die cuts, in that you can pull out pieces of the leaves and petals, to give them some really pretty dimension...I LOVE this!!  Here's a close up...
Okay, I had so much fun making these cards!!  There is a LOT more inspiration to be found, just follow along the hop with all these amazing artists:

Peace On Earth Release

A quick post to share a really fun card that I made with a set of cool stamps and a pretty die from the new Simon Says Stamp Peace on Earth release, that has just come out today!...
There are so many cool new stamps and dies in this release along with all kinds of accessories, so much fun!! I used the new Build a Plaid cling stamp and the pretty Hello Sweater Weather die to make this card...and a piece of burlap!  I used a light blue piece of cardstock and the new Simon inks along with the several of the stripe cling stamps, to stamp a plaid design on the blue paper.  I then ran it through my Big Shot with a piece of burlap on top of it, and it gave it what I'd like to think of as a kind of sweater look.  I then die cut and layered the sentiment and adhered to the plaid.  Popped up the panel, and done!  Living in Virginia, but being originally from Buffalo, I kind of miss how early sweater weather happens in Fall, but LOVE it!!  Just loved this sentiment die and had such fun with this simple card!
Here's a close up...
Hope you will check out the fun new release, over at Simon!  There will be a blog hop tomorrow, over at the Simon Blog, to officially celebrate this wonderful new release, hope to see you there!

Unlikely Rainbows

I love rainbows!  When I saw some of the new Simon Says Stamp products from their STAMPtember® release...even though not typical, I saw rainbows!...
Simply done, for the first card, I used the Paper Layering Circles die set with six different colors of cardstock.  The circles in this die set, are circular, but odd shaped circles.  When I had them all die cut, I adhered them together, and cut them in half.  Added a sentiment and happiness!!  Here's a close up...
You could also use the other half for a second card!  The second card, below, was made using the new Concentric Doodle Cling stamp...
This was one of those stamp, color, stamp emboss cards.  I put the stamp and paper in my MISTI, stamped with Simon smoke ink, then colored the image.  I put the cardstock back in my MISTI, swiped with my static bag, stamped with versamark, and white embossed.  I cut the circle in half, then hand cut the 1/2 circle (the rainbow) out, and adhered to black cardstock with sentiment from the same set as the first card, Rainbow is My Favorite Color.  Here's a close up...
Rainbows are happiness to this girl...hope you have had some happy in your day and life today!!
Thanks for coming by today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Blended Slimline

I used a pretty new Simon Says Stamp die and new stamp set from their STAMPtember® release with some stencil masks, to make a couple distress ink blended cards...
I used a mask for each card, this one a slimline mask, with three different colored distress oxide inks.  I then added a die cut Etched Tall Leaf Spray(cutting a couple of the leaves off of the bottom), and adding a sentiment from the set that I used for the second card, the pretty Foxglove stamp set.  The envelope is from Simon, as well!  Here's a close up...
The second one, I masked like the first, but this time, using the new Mini Slimline Masks, and stamping an image over the blended inks, instead of a die cut...
After blending the oxide inks, I put the colored panel in my MISTI to stamp the foxglove with black ink.  I did this, just in case I found it necessary to stamp more than once...and I DID stamp twice.  I used one of the sentiments from the set for the card, and done!  I had a Simon orange envelope for this card, as well!
 Here's a close up...
There will be a new release at Simon in a couple days...can't wait!!  Hope you are having a great week!!
Thanks for stopping by!! Hugs!! Lisa

Happy World Card Making Day!

Happy World Card Making Day!!  I LOVE to make cards!  Card making makes me happy, and it is so much fun to create!  And, although sadly, I missed Daugher's Day and Coffee Day, recently, I have made a quick card today, filled with some happy, to celebrate THIS day!!...
I used the Simon Says Stamp Painted Flowers Wreath stencil and some of the very pretty new Simon inks from the STAMPtember® release, along with my much loved CZ Design Happy Birthday die, to make a birthday card!  I dotted the dots with Tonic Drops, but I changed sentiments before finishing my card, so the sentiment covered a few of the dots...oops!!  Oh well, I love that about cardmaking...perfection is highly overrated...and imperfections make it handmade!!  At least that's what I tell myself when things like this happen😆😆!  Here's a close up...
Hope you've had a chance to be crafty today...as always...SO...MUCH...FUN!!
