Throwback Thursday...Clipping Heart!

I made a card the other day with a Simon Says Stamp heart die, and sentiment from their newest release, Friendly Frolic!  I kept the pretty sentiment stamp on my desk, and just couldn't put it away...just yet.  I pulled out a sweet die that came out last year, Simon's Clipping Heart die and, combined it with that sentiment, making what I'm calling, a "Throwback Thursday" card...my card from last year is below...
Funny, I had used paint chips when I orignally used this die, and it was not planned this way, but used paint chips on today's card, as well.  I die cut softer color paint chips than my usual bold colors...and layered the Clipping Heart die four times for super thickness...LOVED the dimension.  For a clean and simple card, I wanted POP!!  I stamped the amazing sentiment, and adhered the die with it's paint chips to the card.  I added a drop of color to the center hearts with Tonic Jewel Drops (I LOVE these drops for such subtle touches of interest!!).  Here's a close up...
Here's the card I made in January of last year...this card made and still makes me happy...
I hope you having a heartfilled day...go heart someone today:)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

With or Without a sentiment??

I used the pretty and fun new Simon Says Stamp, Plantiful Puns stamp set to make a card for my mom:)!...
This stamp has some beautiful image stamps, and Simon has combined these flowers, plants and leaves with some cute and funny punny sentiments.  I wanted a sentiment that would fit my mom, though, she's not a "punny woman"...hee hee....so I opted for the Messages for Everyday stamp set for my card in lieu of a sentiment from the set.  I stamped and then colored the pitcher, then hand cut it with scissors.  I then stamped, and colored the flowers and leaves.  I popped the pitcher over the flowers, and added a few Tonic Jewel Drops in the leaves.   Here's a close up...
I LOVE making cards!!  ONE of the cool things about it, is that if you are careful, you can take cards apart and REDO!!  I had ORIGINALLY made the card WITHOUT a sentimtent.  I kept looking at it, and decided I wanted to try putting a thin sentiment on my card.  SO...I took the stitched panel OFF the card, and stamped the sentiment...not so hard, and I personally think I like it much better with the sentiment.  Here's the original....what do YOU think??
Such a pretty and fun set of stamps...Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

I Heart You

I had just a few moments of time to create in the last number of days...I pulled out a sweet die and set of stamps and made a rainbow of hearts...HAPPINESS!!...
I used the Simon Says Stamp Heart Stream die along with a sweet sentiment from the new set, Uplifting Sentiments stamp set.
I colored the hearts with Sharpie markers, then cut them out with scissors.  I adhered them to a white stream die cut, and then layered twice more.  I adhered to card with stamped sentiment, then added some enamel dots.  Here's a close up...
Hearts and rainbows...such happiness to MY heart...and I don't know about you, but I could use a little happiness in my heart today!!
Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

More Good Vibes

I LOVED the Simon Says Stamp Good Vibes stamp set from their last release!  Well...Simon came out with More Good Vibes stamp set with their latest release, Friendly Frolic!  Needless to say, MORE Good Vibes...what's not to love??!!  I made two cards using two of the images and two of the sentiments from this fun, cool, groovy new set of stamps!!....
I stamped and cut out the flowered peace image with scissors, then colored it with sharpie markers...the colors pop and totally fit a 70's image, for sure.  I popped it up on a stitched panel stamped with one of the sentiments.  Here's a close up...
The second one, like the first, except basic layout, bigger image, bigger rectangle, and also cut out and popped up the sentiment...
Here's a close up...
Such fun...loved the coloring...peace out... Lisa😄

Big Happy...Made into a Rainbow Birthday!

I used the new Simon Says Stamp's Big Happy and Diamond Pattern dies from their new Friendly Frolic collection, along with the two of the balloons from the older Celebration Time die set, and made a birthday card...rainbow set against black...
I cut strips of eight different colors of cardstock, adhered them on a slight slant on a thinner piece of cardstock and die cut the "Happy" from those strips.  I layered it with 3 layers of black cardstock, and die cut and layered balloons in 6 of the 8 colored cardstocks.  I die cut the Diamond Pattern full card die.  I stamped and embossed the "birthday" part of a happy birthday sentiment...it fit PERFECTLY between the grids of the diamonds:):)!!  I  die cut the diamonds a second time, adhered it to the one with the stamped sentiment,  and adhered those two layers to a full card sized piece of black card stock, then onto a card.  I then adhered the die cut sentiment, floss, and balloons to the card.  Love the depth of the diamond pattern, and how it gives dimension to the card, but doesn't overpower it.  I also chose to put the "birthday" where I did, as the white sentiment balanced with the white floss of the balloons.  Here's a close up...
and here's a close up of the sentiments...
I don't have to tell you...but I will, anyways...Rainbows and Birthdays...my heart is happy!!

Keep on Swimming!!

The Simon Says Stamp Picture Book animals are ADORABLE...and the Turtle, in this collection, is no exception!!  I die cut one of these little guys and put him in the ocean, along with an encouragement to "keep on swimming"...
I used the Simon Waves and Hills stencil along with three different colors of Oxide inks to make the ocean.  I then die cut the little guy, embossing the bottom layer of green, then cutting it out...this way, the spots and dots of the turtle are one piece.  I used two layers of kraft for his shell, and a layered, darker green body.  I stamped the sentiment with versamark and white embossed.  I raised the panel on a white card.  Here's a close up...
This card is an encouragement for me...that no matter what I'm facing...and likewise, for you...no matter what you are or may be facing...KEEP SWIMMING!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Foiled Rainbow Birthdays

I purchased some rainbow foil washi tape at Hobby Lobby last week...not your typical washi, but it intrigued me...and at 50%off...I couldn't resist.  I have made two very clean and simple birthday cards with my foil washi, using my favorite birthday sentiment die from Simon Says Stamp...
I lined up strips of the washi onto a thinner cardstock and then die cut the sentiment from the strips...I actually got two from the strips I laid down!!  I layered them three times for depth.  With the first card, I stamped and embossed, using my MISTI for placement the word "Happy" with versa mark and clear embossing powder.  I wanted the pretty "BIRTHDAY" to be the sole star of the show!!  Here's a pic of the washi and die cuts.
I wasn't sure if I was going to like this washi, because it was SOOOO thin, but the colors are beautiful ...SO RAINBOWY, and the shine is wonderful...just takes a little more time to lay all the strips down.  I had to keep adding more, and more, and more, until there were enough to fit the length of the sentiment die!!  Here's a close up of the sentiment and the background stamping...
For the second card, I chose to add a foil gold panel cardstock piece to the back of the card panel, along with a simple gold "HAPPY" right before the BIRTHDAY...
I think the gold ties into the sentiment and gives it a more dressed up feel.  Here's a close up...
Ok...simply done...oh how I LOVE the white space of cards...these were such fun!!!

Heart Party Circle Cards

I recently got the Memory Box Heart Party Circle die...I thought it was too pretty to pass by when looking through dies at Simon a number of weeks ago!  I made a couple cards, one using the circle as it was designed, the other, with the circle cut apart!
The first one, I die cut and layered the die cut hearts.  I then colored the hearts with sharpie and mark it markers, and dotted the circles with Tonic Crystal Drops.  The sentiment is from Altenew's Birthday Builder stamp set.  Here's a close up...
The second one, I die cut the circle of hearts, then used a scissor to cut and trim the circle into 3 pieces, 2 of which are used on the card below...
I used the circle of hearts like leaf sprigs on either side of my Penny Black Pinwheel die cut flower.  The sentiment is Paper Smooches.  The striped paper strips on either side are from a 6x6 pad of paper from MFT Stamps.   I also used Doodlebug enamel dots to accent the vine of hearts.  Here's a close up...
Yep...a pretty AND a fun die!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Dinosaur Love!

I made a couple cards to share with you today, using two of the new Picture Book Dinosaur dies from Simon Says Stamp's newest release, Friendly Frolic!  I think these guys are ADORABLE!!  I know...most dinosaurs are scary, but these guys are as adorable as a dinosaur can be...
I die cut the parts of the brontosaurus in different colored cardstock(I had looked up brontos and  most of the pics of them led me to believe that most thought they were a gray color), and adhered to an embossed and cut out dinosaur that I put adhesive all over, so all the pieces would stick to the embossed and cut out guy.  Then I gave him a couple layers over all of THAT...
The balloons were made with some old colored vellum I have had for years!!  Here'a a close up....

Then I googled a stegosaurus, to get an idea of what colors to make him, and came up with two shades of green.  I think he IS awesome...and yet cute:)!!...
Ok...he's a dinosaur, but I think he is so...stinkin...cute!!  I made him a bit more 3D than usual, so he POPs off the card...simple, but these guys shine all alone:)!!...Here's a close up of this guy...
I had so much fun with these guys!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
