Today is the first day of two Blog Hops over at the the Simon Says Stamp Blog, celebrating the wonderful new Simon Says Stamp Hello Gorgeous release!! I am thrilled and honored to be a part of this release, celebrating Springtime, Mother's Day, and simply, everyday! I have used one of the wonderful new dies from this release, Stained Glass Sun die for both cards, to make a couple cards to share with you today...
I know this is a sun die, but when I first saw it, I saw a sunflower! In light of the what is happening in Ukraine, I chose to make this a sunflower for Ukraine. I chose a blue background, which is meant to be a blue sky, the blue of the sky and yellow of the sunflower are the colors of the Ukrainian flag, and the sunflower is the national flower of Ukraine. I chose the sentiment from a pretty new set of Simon sentiment stamps, XL Spring Greetings. I thought this sentiment fit the blooming sunflowers of Ukraine and the hope of peace for this country. I stamped the sentiment in Simon Mocha ink. Here's a close up...
The second card I chose to make as a sun...
I used three different shades of paint chips for my shaded sun. Just as with the first, I layered the sun die cut from underneath the top layer. I used an older Simon sentiment die and a sentiment from You Matter. I die cut the sentiment from a paint chip, like the sun. Here's a close up...
What a wonderful die, and the new XL greetings are lovely! I had such fun making my cards...my fun is shown above, your fun begins below!
