REJOICE...He is Risen!!

I love the Simon Says Stamp set of crosses and sentiments with their coordinating dies, He is Risen...I made a couple cards with one cross and a couple ideas...
A church near our house, drapes it's cross outside the church with purple fabric at Easter time.  In the Bible, John 19:2 is the verse that talks about the soldiers making a crown of thorns for Jesus, and putting a purple robe on him.  Purple was a color of royalty...thought it truly fitting of the King!!  I decided to drape my cross with a purple ribbon, wrinkling it to look kind of like fabric.  The first, simply REJOICE...says it all.

The second one, I used the sentiments from the set and stamped them in light gray (Simon Says Stamp Fog) after stamping the "He is Risen" first in black.  Used the same cross with a little less ribbon, so it fit the space with the sentiment...
Simple and simply done...Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

  1. Your cards are perfect. In our former church in CA on the Friday before Easter, the Cross was draped on purple like that. Then on Easter Sunday we would bring flowers an "grace the Cross with Beauty." We had an amphitheater and weather permitting our service was outside.

  6. I've been way behind in my email, and just found this one! Your cards are always amazing, but the beauty of these is certainly in the simplicity. The cross. That horrible cross. But the symbol of more love than one can imagine. Thanks for sharing these. I'm all teary-eyed now. :o)
