OLW70...Red and White

I am REALLY under the wire...last I checked, 1 hour 37 minutes before the challenge closes...nothing like cutting it close:)!!  The challenge at One Layer Wednesday is to make a one layer card with Red and White for it's colors.  I just pulled a couple Stampin Up sets out of the closet and came up with a couple tonight:
I made the first one with the set All I Have Seen(an old set, but with a quote I needed to stamp tonight...one I LIVE BY:)!!) and Barn Door distress ink.  I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to position the stamps and clear embossed the sentiment.  I was going to add ribbon, but it just didn't go, so I chopped 1/2" off the card to balance it, so the card is 5" x 4 1/4".
This one I used Beautiful Borders and Cherry Cobbler ink.  I squirted the stamp with Ink Potion No. 9 after stamping on Cherry. Scored with Martha Stewart score board and  clear embossed the sentiment.
Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

  1. Lisa! The first card is lovely...the second card is STUNNING! I am amazed how can you make a one layer look so gorgeous- it was all too hard for me!!

  2. glad you made the deadline, both cards are really beautiful.

  3. These are lovely! I really like the balance and composition of the first one, and the second is just so elegant! I have that same Beautiful Borders set, but never thought of combining it with scored lines. Thank you for the inspiration!

  4. *sigh with contentment* just amazing Lisa, two stunning cards my friend :)
Love the layout on the first.

  5. Gorgeous again Lisa - particularly the second one! But tell me, what is this ink potion No. 9?

  6. Hey Vicky:)!! Ink Potion No. 9, as written on the bottle..."encourages migration of any water based ink"...sometimes, ink just doesn't cover the stamp well...I have found that this solution helps spread the ink around and give the stamped project a "more well inked look". If you spray enough, it can also give the image a watercolored look, too! Thanks for asking:)!!

  7. Lisa, these are both fabulous cards...but I really LOVE the second one! Where did you find the ink potion #9?

I so appreciate your comments...thank for taking the time to write:)!! Hugs!! Lisa
