Love Notes

Happy Valentine's Day...hope your day is "love"ly!    I made four square cards(4 1/4") ...I've deemed them love notes, with the Simon Says Stamp Corbel Heart die and "Love"sentiment stamp from the Love and Quotes set...

The first one, I die cut and layered underneath the top panel two layers of the corbel die, then die cut a red heart and put into the corbel dies.  I used the "Love" sentiment stamp on all four cards and the same stitched square die, as well...
Here's a close up...

The second one, I die cut the die on a piece of acetate, and made a stencil.  I sponged two shades of pink through the stencil, and then used Enamel Accents to dot the sponged corbel...

The third one, I embossed the heart onto the white stitched panel, then sponged onto the embossed(raised) corbel, again, through the stencil...
Here's a close up...

You KNOW I couldn't make a set of cards without a rainbow!!  I embossed the corbel on a piece of watercolor paper, to be able to see where to paint color, then used a waterbrush and paints, and colored the heart.  I then layered underneath the white panel with 2 more corbels, and voila...rainbow heart...

Let someone know you love them today...maybe a few people!!

A Quick Set of Thank Yous

I had a friend ask me for some thank you cards.  Fast and easy...flat and easy-to-mail cards are what came to mind...the fast and easy for me, the flat and-easy-to mail for her:)!  I simply picked coordinating patterned papers, the pretty new Dot Scallop Border die from Simon Says Stamp, and a set of Thanks sentiment stamps from Simon as well...what easy fun...
I had done a card similar to this one last year when Simon came out with a Stitched Scallop die...but this one with the dots is SO PRETTY!!  I popped up the scalloped paper over the sentimented paper, to give it a lift, making the simple card a little more special.  This second one is the only one that is slightly different in that I used Glossy Accents to dot the brown dots of the paper...kind of a fun little addition...
The nice thing with these particular sentiments... you could simply use the "thanks" alone, or use with the variety of additional sentiments that add to the "thanks"...

With this border die and some patterned papers,  thank you cards can be super easy and super cute!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Thinking of you Chevrons

I don't know why, but I decided to put kraft, black and white together...and I kinda like it...
I used the My Favorite Things Stepped Up Chevron...layering 3 layers for each of the kraft as well as the black chevrons.  I thought it would be cool to accent the middle chevron and bring some added interest to the chevrons by coating the middle black chevron with glossy accents.   I die cut a white panel once, then stamped the sentiment, and fit the kraft chevrons into the edges of the white panel (so the white you see in between the chevrons is actually the card beneath).  Here's a close up...
Such different and fun chevrons...Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Love on Your Wedding Day

I pulled out the pack of 6x6 papers from My Mind's Eye, Fancy That...such a pretty pack of papers!!   I thought one of pieces was PERFECT for a wedding card...thus a simple card made using the new Simon Says Stamp Love die and a sentiment stamp from All My Love, with that piece of paper...
I layered the "love", stamped and embossed the sentiment, adhered to panel that I had added a piece of black cardstock to...loved how there were two birds together...putting the "love" below them, I thought, was perfect for a wedding.  I used other papers from the pack for the backgound of the "love" die, as well as the card background.  Here's a close up...

Birthday Wishes

I used a couple Simon Says Stamp dies and some paint chips, to make a more "masculine" birthday card...
I layered the Spinner Trail die a few times with white cardstock, and after die cutting the pieces of each circle from paint chips, added them to the white layered die cut(you could always make it easier by simply cutting circles from the chips that fit each circle on the die.  The "birthday wishes" is the middle of the Birthday Wishes Frame die.  I love how paint chips always give the die cuts a little gloss.  I also rounded the lower right corner to kind of follow the circles and cause I just felt like it:):)!!  Here's a close up...

Kind...

I used the My Favorite Things Stitched Flowers and the new My Favorite Things Kind Words stamp set, Kind/Kindness dies and made a card with some of my much loved paint chips...
I die cut, layered  and adhered to a polka dotted patterned paper panel.  I LOVED the wooden dots that I found at Michael's a while back, and with the background paper, I thought they were perfect...save one thing.  The wooden dots come with adhesive foam dots on the back.  I didn't like the way they raised the dots off the flowers, so I removed the foam dots, and replaced with a simple glue dot....just letting you know:)!  Here's a close up...
Tell a kind friend today how much you appreciate them!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
