Late Summer Thinking of You

We are having some rain here in Virginia, but it is usually fast and furious...heavy rains with flash flooding, then no rain until the next one. Fast and furious doesn't really stick to trees and plants, and due to the sporatic water, our Birch Tree has more and more yellow leaves, and mowing the lawn a couple days ago, there were more leaves than grass in the mower bag.  I made a card depicting a late summer tree in VA...a few yellow leaves, but not because of Fall...
I started with a piece of Simon Says Stamp Woodgrain paper, die cut the tree, and colored it with my Prismacolor markers.  I layered the tree and added a die cut bird from a Memory Box die set.  The green valleys are from MFT and the sentiment is from Hero Arts. OK...time for another moment of transparency... I severely bent one of the corners of the card(didn't notice it until I saw the first pics I photographed).  I opted, rather than do the whole blue piece over again, and ultimately the whole card, that I would take my corner punch and round the bent part off, giving the card rounded corners...hmmm...it's ok...but what I love is that you have an option to "fix" cards without having to totally do over.  Here's a close up...with not so perfect coloring(I kinda like that, too:)!)...
Hope your summer is going great and that you are staying cool and well watered😆!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

  2. Trying to imagine the card without rounded corners and I think I like this version better. It fits with the shape of the tree and oval curves of the leaves.
