CAS(E) this Sketch 182...Thinking of You

I've made a card for this week's CAS(E) this Sketch...here's my card and the sketch below it...

With the image tucked behind the sentiment, I thought of either a tree(turning the sketch upside down), or a leafy vine....I had just gotten the Massa Leaf by Poppy Stamps and combined these pretty leaves with some of my favorite flowers by Simon Says Stamp (Mini Flowers and Leaves).  I had the idea to put my leaves and flowers against some of my woodgrain paper, so I swiped and sponged the paper with Antique Linen Distress ink, and then die cut with a stitched rectangle die to give the image and sentiment more definition.  I made the banner a little shorter than the actual die by die cutting from both sides.   Here's a close up...

Flashy Florals Birthday Flower

A quick post, I made a card with the  new My Favorite Things Flashy Florals stamps and dies...pretty and pretty simple:)!!...

 I stamped the three stamps that are all pieces of this flower, layered, die cut, and did the same for the leaves.  I added a Hero Arts sentiment and finished off the card by die cutting around the card with the MFT Inside/Out Stitch Rectangle Stax die.  Love the added interest this die brings to a simple card.  Here's a close up...

I loved that MFT came out with this set again after it was part of card kit...the flowers and leaves of this stamp and it's die set are SO PRETTY...what fun!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Makeover Monday...

You've probably heard of Throwback Thursdays on Facebook?...this is going to be my Makeover Monday!  I was going back over some of my old cards and I decided a redo might be fun... Here's my card and the one I am making over, below it...

Oh what a difference four years can make:):)!!  I used Simon Says Stamp's Mini Flowers and Leaves dies(I have TWO sets of them for easier and faster die cutting!!), along with Simon's Stitched Square dies, and a sentiment from Hero Arts.  I layered the flowers and the squares, and adhered them all onto a stitched rectangle, then popped up onto the card. Here's a close up...

CAS(E) this Sketch 181...Happy Birthday in Gold

I've made a card for this week's CAS(E) this Sketch!  Here's my card and the sketch...

I used a bunch of the stamps from the Simon Says Stamp Wild Beauty stamp set to make an inset panel of gold bordered flowers for the sketch.  I put all the stamps on one large acrylic block and stamped them all together with versamark on vellum.   I then embossed them with gold and colored the back side of the flowers with markers.  Here's a little tip...I wasn't really happy with the exact positioning of the sentiment, so I opted to put a small gold dot on each side of the sentiment to give it the "appearance" of being farther over...saved having to redo!  THEN, I used that same gold pen...hey, I was on a roll...I dotted around the flowers and leaves...it made it look a little cooler and fuller:)!!  Here's a close up...

Thinking of You Flowers

I used the sweet, pretty Wild Beauty stamp set by Simon Says Stamp to make a simple Thinking of You card...

I stamped, embossed, cut out and colored the flowers with my Prismacolor makers.  I added some leaves die cut from the  Simon Mini Flowers and Leaves die cut set and added a much loved sentiment from an old Simon stamp set,  Petal Pieces.  I added some glossy accents to the tips of the flowers...
