Surely Stitched Heart Two Ways

My sister's departure on Wednesday left my craft room more torn apart than I had thought and it took the last few days to straighten, arrange, and literally FIND all my essential card making supplies...YIKES!!  I will say, though, I accomplished things in my craft room that I have NEEDED to get done for a while, and wouldn't have done, had my room not been taken apart...labeling all my ink pads, putting ALL my MANY, MANY dies into labeled CD cases, cleaning out drawers and ORGANIZING EVERYTHING...it's all been very good!!
I know I am a day late to the party, but Simon Says Stamp had a wonderful Valentine's Day release yesterday, Better Together and I have a couple cards to share with you today using one of their amazing new dies!! I used the Surely Stitched Heart die and used it two different ways...
This die is SO versatile, it has a wonderful stitched heart with connected lines that could be used the long OR short way on a card...I chose the long way.  I layered the heart with lines 3 times, filled it with a patterned paper and added black paper from the centers of the lines to the base of the card.  I added a layered, glossy accented "love you" on the inside...

For the second card, I decided to use the stitched heart solo (I LOVE this stitched heart!!), so... I cut off the lines, layered and added a red vellum, heart embossed center. I took a darker red marker and colored the embossed hearts, adding an additional pop of red color.   I popped up on card, using a new Simon Stitched square die as a frame for my heart.  The sentiment is from an older Simon set called Just a Love Note...
Hope you all have a fantastic weekend...with less than 2 weeks to Christmas, hope you find some time to relax:)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

An Embossed Happy Birthday

My sister, Rebecca. left this morning...she had been visiting the last week...so I had been without my craft room (she not only stayed in it while here, but PAINTED it while she was here...among 100 OTHER things she did for me while she was here,   I love her so much, she is SO AMAZING!!).  I had made this card before her arrival:
I used a Simon Says Stamp stencil, some craft paint and translucent embossing paste to make the rectangular popped up panels.  Here's a pic of the 4 pack stencils (perfect for making presents!)..
I mixed the paint and paste, swept across the stencil with palette knife, let dry and then trimmed the rectangles by cutting with scissors.  I stamped the sentiment (Hero Arts...retired set) on the card and popped up all four colored panels on the card.  The top and bottom panels were cut short to fit the A2 sized card. I got the circles to "match" up by flipping the stencil and sweeping the embossing paste/paint on the opposite sides with every other color (a total accident, but COOL accident!).   I added enamel dots on each of the colored panels...
I'll be back to my room to start creating again, hopefully tomorrow:):)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Warm Winter Wishes

A Winter card today...
I used a set of coordinating stamps and dies from Simon Says Stamp along with some felt.  I die cut three pairs of mittens in 2 shades of gray and 1 black pair.  I cut the bottoms off of all the mittens and die cut hearts in each mitten.  I then adhered each mitten to another die cut mitten done with white card stock (for stability...adhering all three pieces of the mitten together on the one white die cut mitten), interchanging the color of the pieces.  On the last pair of mittens, I put red hearts in the die cut hearts.  The stamped sentiment was stamped twice on the card, then I simply adhered the mittens along the curves.
Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Simon Says Stamp DieCember™ Blog Hop

I'm joining an amazing group of artists today, to celebrate Simon Says Stamp's release of 15 amazing new dies, their DieCember™ 2014 collection!  This collection of dies has everything from balloons, flowers, trees and  and a bird on a branch, to tags, tea cups and a woodland frame!!  I LOVE dies and am SO thrilled to be a part of this hop today, showcasing some of these new, amazing dies!!  Hope you will check them out!!
I used a threesome set of cute frame dies...the Highlight Frames, and made some cards using them all a bit differently...
I used white layered borders, colored paper, and then colored felt for the hearts, to go with the sentiment...a fun pun:)!!

The second one I used the negatives from the die cut and glossy accented the heart for a more romantic card:)

The last one uses the square frame, in which I stamped a sentiment in each die cut square.  The frames were die cut in solid paper colors, the inside square in a polka dotted paper.  Oh my goodness...the fun with this set of dies...I know I often say this, but I MEAN IT...the possibilities are ENDLESS!!
