Umm...It's CAS(E) this Sketch #96!

I may have said it before, but I LOVE sketches!!  I guess some cardmakers love color inspiration, some may get really inspired by pictures, and I appreciate all kinds of inspiration (although I find many types of inspiration kind of difficult), but I find that I get more quickly or easily inspired by sketches... hmmm  ...what does that mean?? Maybe it's the blank slate of a sketch...the defined lines with no distractions of color or real pattern?  Interesting??!!   I have chosen the new sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch to make  today's card, here's my card and the sketch...

I chose to use the new set of stamps by Simon Says Stamp, Tons of Hearts (LOVE all these hearts!!) and a new sentiment from Paper Smooches, Bosom Buddy!  I stamped the hearts with black ink, clear embossed.  I stamped the sentiment, clear embossed and then cut around the hearts.  I used glossy accents to give my rainbow of hearts some shine, and adhered a strip of polka dotted paper behind the cut out areas.  Here's a close up of the shine...
Being this is a two week challenge, I am certain I will be trying my hand at another card...or two:):)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Maple Leaves Are Magnificent!

I am originally from Buffalo, New York...AKA Western New York.  The leaves in the fall are stunning, especially the Maple leaves!!  Living in Virginia, I so miss that intense, beyond beautiful array of color!!  There is no other tree that compares in Fall color to the maple...I just got this new Poppy die and had to try my hand at some watercoloring...trying to capture a hint of that wonderful color...
What I love about these dies is that they have the embossed definition in the die...love the veins!!...
Layered the border 3 times and used watercolor paper for the leaf.  The sentiment is from a wonderful new set from Simon Says Stamp, Autumn Blessings!  I am entering this card into the Less is More challenge this week which is a color challenge...Autumn's Bounty...to have shades of Fall in your card
Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
EDITED:  Thank you so much, Chrissie and ladies for Showcasing
my card this week!!...I am truly honored and so appreciate your acknowledgement...wow...you made my week!!

Happy, Merry, Bright Christmas!

I used the new Simon Says Stamp Holiday Frames to make an untraditionally colored Christmas card:)...
I layered, versamarked and silver embossed(twice) the snowflake frames, then adhered a different colored paper behind each frame.  I also versamarked and silver embossed the cool new Simon sentiment, masking the three middle words and using my stamp a ma jig, stamping the three words in the same colored inks as the background papers of the frames.
I have had a lot of questions about my die cut layering...I will be putting together a tutorial on die cut layering!  I am so wanting to answer some of your questions about how I layer mine...it's coming...
until then...thanks so much for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

One Die, Two Color Schemes!

Oh, the wonderful new things Simon Says Stamp keeps coming out with...the Cold Hands, Warm Heart Collection that was released on Friday, is FILLED with Winter wonderfulness, and the Ring Frame die is especially cool to me, as it is a very versatile die, one that can be used for everyday cards as well as cards for the winter/Christmas season!!  I made a couple cards!!  The first one I made, I began with inspiration from a Sure Fit flyer I got in the mail (they are a company that specializes in sofa/recliner covers) and a pillow that was on the cover.  Here's my card and inspiration...

I LOVED the colors in this pillow!!  I immediately thought to put my new die to use and make a much needed thank you card for a friend!!  I used textured paper for my card AND the circles...the frame is a speckled off white paper and layered.  The sentiment is Paper Smooches, glossy accented after layering.  Here's a close up...
The second card was made with Christmas colors, using a perfectly sized snowflake from last year's Simon collection along with two sentiments from the STAMPtember® release!...
Again, I used textured paper with this one, and layered the frame and snowflake.  Here's a close up...
What a FUN die and what a FUN time I had!!

Less is More 191...Merry x 3

I was looking for some inspiration the other day...was in one of my many creative fogs...so I did what I often do when that happens...go to my favorite challenges!!  Less is More's challenge for the week is MOSTLY WORDS..."Often a sentiment seems unnecessary and at other times the words are all you need!"
I chose the Merry Christmas background die from Memory Box/Poppy Stamps for 3 cards that...well...words are all you need:)!! (the second one is my entry into the challenge!).  The cool thing about this die, but yet the challenging thing for me is that there are SO MANY things you can do with this die, but being that I have used the similar "THANKS" AND "BIRTHDAY" dies in the past, I wanted to show you yet different things you can do with these amazing dies...
I used shiny red metallic paper for this card...layered the whole die three layers deep with white paper and die cut the two stand alone "Merry Christmas" sentiments with shiny red paper, placing the words into  the white spaces...
The second one(the challenge entry card for Less is More), I used the biggest "MERRY" on the die cut...using all the leftovers from my other ideas and the first card, to make 3 MERRYS  3 layers deep.  I stamped with polka dots and die cut the single word twice with red, once with green and topped the layered white MERRYS...
I used a diagonal embossing plate from Papertrey Ink and dressed up my MERRYS with my Wink of Stella pen, which adds some wonderful glitter to the sentiments...
The third card was simply made by layering a different "merry", and die cutting the "merry"on the opposite colored lines than the card paper...
Here's a close up of the shimmer of this paper from Michael's...
Had a blast...what a great challenge this week...thanks for the inspiration, Chrissie and crew!!
