Silver Celebrate

I have been in love with silver and gold, of late...love using silver and gold embossing powder!  I loved the CAS(E) this Sketch sketch this week, too...thought it perfect for an old stamp and some silver!!  Here's my card and the sketch...

I used this wooden/rubber stamp to make my card (it seems it might be retired, but found it on Amazon and is on ebay if you are interested)...
...I thought it would look perfect for the 5 lined sketch...only thing is when I added one extra star by masking and using my stamp-a-ma-jig, the five lines but only 4 stars just didn't look right, so I masked a bit more with my second attempt and liked having 6 lines and 5 stars much better!  I stamped with versamark and silver embossed.  I colored with Memento markers, the turquoise is Stampin Up, and glossy accented the stars.  The sentiment is from Penny Black and was die cut in white paper, layered, then pushed into versamark and silver embossed like the image, rather than die cut with silver paper, so the silver of the image and the silver of the sentiment would match:)!!  Here's a close up...
Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
EDITED:  YAY...my Celebrate card was voted a FAVORITE this week...
Thank you so much, ladies, for the wonderful recognition...there were SO MANY wonderful cards in the gallery...congrats, too, to all the winners!!

Silver White Winter

Here's another card from my March Splitcoaststampers Dirty Dozen cards...made for the Sound of Music theme for that month.  This card is based on the song, "My Favorite Things" and the part of the song that says, "Silver white winters that melt into spring, these are a few of my favorite things."...it's a SILVER and WHITE winter scene:):)!!  So cool that it is more fitting to show a Christmas card NOW than it was in March:)!!...
I used a Memory box die for the scene and a piece of paper from Michael's for the background(but you could do the same thing with some stamps, versa mark and silver embossing powder.  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Simon Says Stamp/Clearly Besotted Wreathes

OK...I am seriously in love with the brand new Simon Says Stamp/ Clearly Besotted Wreath stamp and die set!!!  Have to tell you why...the wreath stamps and their elements are lovely and simple in design, which I love all by themselves,  but what make them especially wonderful are their dies!!  The dies not only allow you to stamp, then position ON the stamped image but they also cut so intricately around all the stamped images...the wreathes, the flowers, the leaves...the dies make for some amazingly die cut stamped images!!!!  I made a seasonal wreath and an everyday wreath...just changing the flowers, sentiments and the position of the sentiment AND the twine bow...
I layered both the wreath and the flowers...here's a close up...

Then I made one by stamping the flowers on an ink pad, and using a lighter marker, colored a couple of the petals on the flowers to give them each a two toned look.  I used some burlap for a backdrop and pulled the ends off each side...
Layered, again, and colored in the middles of the leaves with a lighter marker...
A wonderful, super versatile set of stamps and dies...I LOVE!!  SO glad you stopped by today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Spring Gems Turned Birthday

I thought the Spring Gems stamp by Hero Arts would be a wonderful stamp to use with rhinestones,  with liquid pearls...even coloring with markers and dotting with Glossy Accents...but made two this morning...one with rhinestones and one with liquid pearls...(sorry...my pics don't do the pretty colors of the rhinestones justice!!)...
I versamarked and gold embossed...then used rhinestones of all sizes to give the sprays of dots some wonderful color.  I versamarked on vellum and gold embossed the sentiment, and wrapped it around the panel...here's a close up...

With the second one, I thought it would be cool to stamp the same way as the first, but dot with liquid pearls(I have a WHOLE BUNCH of colors!!)...
I know this stamp is called SPRING Gems...but I can envision this cool stamp for all occasions and for all seasons....you WILL be seeing more cards with this stamp again SOON:):)!!
Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Luminary Thanks Two Ways

I used the new Luminary Circles die from Simon Says Stamp and made a couple different looking cards with it:)...
I  used a rainbow of colors and some matching enamel dots.  I also rounded the corners...something different!   Here's a closeup of the circles and enamel dots...

On the second card, I angled the die more vertically when die cutting, making it's movement on the card a little different, and added a second sentiment!  For this card, instead of having the color BELOW the surface, I raised each of the circles ABOVE the surface, colored them, AND glossy accented them all instead of placing a random enamel dot on a handful of the circles...
Here's a close up of the "glossies"...
Another versatile die in the Simon STAMPtember® collection...FUN!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
