Sugar and Spice Release!

There's a new release, today, at Simon Says Stamp...Sugar and Spice!  I have used a beautiful new leaf die, along with sentiments from a Simon set released last October, to make a Christmas card to start off this wonderful new release!...

I die cut the leaf die and colored by brushing ink onto the leaves.  I masked off the berries, and colored them with a red marker, after coloring the leaves.  I then dotted the berries with Glossy Accents to give them a little gloss and berry look.  I layered each of them, then adhered them to a panel that I had embossed with a Simon embossing folder.  I then popped it up on a silver panel adhered to a card.  I stamped the sentiments, embossed with silver, die cut, layered, and popped them up in the wreath of leaves.  Here's a close up...

I have made a card using a sweet and fun new die from Simon Says Stamp's STAMPtember® release...

I don't know about you, but some of my best childhood memories were riding on a ferris wheel.  Maybe someone out there is from Western NY or a little beyond...Fantasy Island in Grand Island, or Roseland in Canandaigua...two of my favorite places to go when I was little.  So...this die really was one that I just HAD to make a card with!  I happened to find a sentiment in my vast stash, that went perfectly with this cutie, and my ferris wheel card was complete.  Here's a close up...

Enchanted Blooms

 There's a new STAMPtember® Rainbow Splash release out, over at Simon Says Stamp, today!  I have made a thank you card, using one of the sweet and oh so pretty new stamp/die sets, along with a little stencil from the release, for the background...

I stamped, die cut, colored, and layered the pretty flowers and leaves.  I added a partially  brushed on inked stencil and a sentiment fromt the stamp set.  I also added some Rainbow Splash enamel dots for some bling.  I popped up the panel on the card.  Here's a close up...

Pumpkin Blessings Birthday

I have made a birthday card with a sweet Fall Simon Says Stamp stamp/die/stencil set, from their STAMPtember® release...

I stamped the pumpkin/sunflower filled banner, then used the coordinating stencils to brush on color.  I then die cut the banner and layered.   I adhered to a panel that I had embossed with a new birthday embossing folder, also from this new release!  I popped up the whole panel onto the card, to finish.

Block Presents

A clean and simple Christmas card made with a wonderful new Simon Says Stamp die from their STAMPtember® release...

I die cut the presents and bow a couple time in white and the top layer from silver matte cardstock. I then die cut the various presents from glitter cardstock, and pieced them into the stacked die cut.  I stamped a sentiment from a wonderful  newer CZ Design stamp/die set, and embossed in silver.  Here's a close up...

Highland Cow Birthday

I used a beautiful/adorable new Simon Says Stamp stamp/die set, from their STAMPtember® release, to make a birthday card...

I don't know about you, but I think Highland cows are adorable... the little babies are especially cute, but the grown ones are adorable, as well.  I'm not sure if it's all the hair, or their faces, but they look SO sweet, and huggable!  I used one of the stamps, the largest in the set, to stamp, color, die cut and layer.  I then stamped sentiments from the set, and die cut and layered them both.  I used an old Papertrey Ink impression plate for the small lined background, while framing the cow and sentiments with a piece of black cardstock.

Sunflower Dance Birthday

I used a pretty little Simon Says Stamp stamp/die set, from their STAMPtember® release, to make a birthday card!...

I stamped, die cut, colored, and layered the sunflower, and stamped and die cut the sentiment.  I embossed the panel I used behind the flower.  One note...the definition of the lettering on the embossing folder is so defined, and my cardstock so thick, that I needed to lightly spray the cardstock with water, to keep it from tearing upon embossing.  Even with the spraying, it was STILL a bit disturbed, but nothing like embossing it without spraying.  I finished the card, by adding some very old enamel dots(Doodlebug).

Poppin' Corn Birthday

I have made a birthday card with a fun die set, from Simon Says Stamp's STAMPtember® release...

I die cut the pieces of the popcorn box and layered, then adhered them together.  I die cut the pieces of popcorn from a cream colored cardstock, then layered and curled with my fingers...just  a wee bit.  I decided to make this box of popcorn a "front" for a hidden gift card...yes, an interactive card!...

Below are a couple pics of how I made it...

I adhered a smaller than the card piece of cardstock to a long strip of cardstock.  I then placed the gift card (the one above is what what in my purse, until I purchased the one you actually see in the card) onto the paper and adhered the strip to it with a glue dot.  Then I made a hole in the panel that would sit above the card.  I used the popcorn box with the popcorn assembled, as a template, as to how wide the hole would be, as I wanted it to be large enough for the gift card, but not be seen when the card was put together ...

I then popped up the card panel on the back of the panel, above, all around the where the gift card,would sit,  to hold it in place.  Then I popped up the popcorn box on the card, as well, so that the gift card would have room to move once out of the back.  I hope this all makes sense.  I kind of winged it...but pretty easy to do!  Here's a video of me moving the highest piece of popcorn, to show the gift card.  I didn't want to markup the front of the card, or mark the popcorn, so I would have a note on the inside to pull up on the piece of popcorn for a surprise...kinda fun that you don't even know that it's moveable, until you read the card!!...

I almost forgot...I made up the sentiment and printed it on my printer.  If I had to do it over, I would have made the letters bold, but knew I had to have a sentiment that went with this box of popcorn, and nothing I had really "went".  Hope you are having a great weekend...please take care!!

Keep Swimming!

I've used another of the wonderful dies from Simon Says Stamp's STAMPtember® release, to make a card with some cute encouragement for a friend!

I think this ducky is so stinkin' cute!!  I paired her/him with an older Simon wave die as well as Simon sentiment stamp with it's die.  I stamped, layered and popped up the sentiment, as well as the ducky and the waves that I adhered together,  before popping them up on the panel.  I added some enamel dots for the idea of water...the one in the back for the duck's splashing while swimming...😊!  I framed the whole thing with the navy cardstock I used for the water, then popped up the whole panel.  Here's a close up...

Bright Flower Trio Birthday

I have made a birthday card with a cute flower die set from Echo Park, along with a sentiment stamp/die set from Simon Says Stamp!...

When I saw this flower die set on Simon's website, Bright Flower Trio, by Echo Park, I KNEW I not only  had to have them, but that I wanted to make them into daisies!  What I didn't know, at the time, was that I would also change the direction of the leaves, after die cutting them.  Below is the online picture...

What do you think of my choice?  I DO love that the stems are one piece...the stem and the LONG leaf parts.  What is cool is that I scored the leaves and bent them a bit, then adhered the stem/leaf part over the bent leaf like the picture shows...thought it looked kind of cool slightly bent.  I also just slightly bent the petals of the flowers, for dimension, like the leaves.  I used a pretty Simon Says sentiment stamp/die,  and popped it up, with the stems tucked beneath it.   I used some very old enamel dots for interest, and an old Papertrey Ink impression plate for the background(love using and using up the classics!).

Fall Wreath Birthday

Today, I have created a card in honor of the Founder and Owner of Simon Says Stamp's birthday...

Happy, Happy Birthday, Heidi Crowl!!

This card was made with a beautiful new wreath die, along with some identical separate leaf dies as are in the wreath, both from Simon Says Stamp's new STAMPtember® release!  I thought it sooo cool that the leaves could go over the one dimension wreath, and give the leaves and wreath a two dimension look!  Okay...it was a tiny bit of extra work, for not only did I have to adhere each individual leaf onto the wreath, but had to color each individually, so that no two of the same colors of leaves were next to one another.  But...I LOVE how they look!!  I added a gold embossed, die cut, and layered happy birthday sentiment in the center of the wreath, and some enamel dots for bling. I adhered to a panel, that was framed in gold and an A2 sized red panel on the card.   Here's a close up...

STAMPtember® Party!

I am SO thrilled to be a part of today's celebration party of Simon Says Stamp's 16th year of STAMPtember® releases, with an enormous party of artists over at the Simon Blog!!  Just in case you are new to stamping, though it bears repeating even if you are not, STAMPtember® is a month long celebration of all things stamping!  Simon has daily collaborations with some of the most wonderful stamp companies in the industry,  they will be limited edition and one time only stamp(and some die) sets for sale (so get them when you see them!), along with many other giveaways and lots of amazing inspiration, so you will want to check both the Store (collaborations), and Blog for daily sales, giveaways, and so much more!!  

I have chosen a halloween card I made, for this party...I just loved this little Ghost Parade!!...

I just thinkt this die set is adorable!  These little ghosts are just too cute, and putting them together was so much fun!!  For all the black pieces, I used a Simon glossy black cardstock...just kinda liked it better than just plain black.  I layered each of the little guys, and used a black gel pen to give them "eyes".  I lined them up next to the new die cut and layered CZ Design Trick or Treat 2 die.  I added some enamel dots for interest, and despite having four ghosts and a big sentiment, it was still clean and simple...made my heart happy!!  Oh, the card is 7" x 31/2"...so I used a slimline envelope that I cut the flap and enough of the  back of the envelope off to fit the card,  and folded the front of the envelope to the back with some adhesive tape to seal....making the envelope I had, work!  Hope my explanation makes sense.  Here's a close up of the card...

STAMPtember® 2025!

It's September 1st, and over at Simon Says Stamp, that means it's the start of STAMPtember®...the registered trademark of a name given by Simon's owner, Heidi Crowl, to a month long celebration of all things stamping!!  This happens to be Simon's SIXTEENTH YEAR of celebrating STAMPtember®...and I can't wait to get it started...so... 

I have made three cards with an adorable new stamp/die set, Apple of My Eye, along with some new frame dies, what fun!!

I stamped, die cut, and colored all of the adorable animals and apples.  I stamped and die cut the sentiments.  The most challenging part with these little cuties was the layout.  The are small, and making the card "look" enough, yet keeping it clean and simple, was given a quick fix with: one of the stamps from the set(the second card)... stamped all around the frame, a stencil(this first one)... stamped on a piece of cardstock and cut down and the frame cut out, and for the third one, a stamp from an older teacher set!  I used the new Postage and Scalloped Rectangle dies for all three dies...LOVE them!!  Okay...here's a close up of the first card, and then the other two cards....

I used one of the stamps from the stamp set, to stamp all around the brown frame...

This one I was kind of trying to make the postage die cut panels go from high, and getting lower, to kind of go to "core"...I know, a thought only in my head, but that's what prompted the lowering levels of frames to the animal and sentiment.  Here's the close up...

Festive Christmas!

I have made two Christmas cards with two Simon Says Stamp stencil sets and a die, from their Happy Camper release!

I used the Festive Bough stencil set and brushed ink through the stencils to make this pretty background.  I cut it down to fit a 5x5 square card and then die cut the border of the sentiment die I was using into the background. I popped the background boughs onto the red panel and card, and adhered the die cut and layered sentiment into the die cut "window".  Here's a close up...

I used the single bough, aka Festive Swag, which also had a coordinating die,  to make my second card...

I brushed the ink into the stencils( I have to say I LOVE these stencil sets!), and then die cut the swag, and layered it.  I stamped, embossed, die cut and layered the sentiment. I adhered both the sentiment and swag to a white panel with an embossed snowfall,  for the background.  I popped up that panel on the card...done!  Here's a  close up...

Stencils are so much fun to create with...every time you lift it off the paper after brushing on the ink, it's always a wonderful present or surprise!  Tomorrow is the beginning of STAMPtember® over at Simon...AND...there will be a month long celebration of all things stamping!!  There will also be an enormous party on September 2nd, so inspiration will ABOUND!!  Please take care!!
