I Miss You with Love

I made a card with another of the ADORABLE elephants from WPlus Design.  The set is called Bubble Talk, and their coordinating dies...

I stamped, colored, die cut and layered both the ellie and sentiment/bubble, then adhered to American Craft patterned paper I purchased at AC Moore.  The "funny" thing about my card...I LOVED the gray paper behind the elephant...only thing was, the only paper I had with this color and texture (a piece of bazzill paper, color unknown) was a panel 1/4" shorter on top and sides, than a standard card!  SO, rather than cut down the panel the elephant sat on, I decided to layer the elephant panel onto the cut down gray piece, making the top and bottom of the yellow piece pop off the card....I thought it looked cool!  So, there it is...a short leftover can make a new design for card making!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Inspired by a Skirt

I watch a lot of Disney!  There...now you know something new about me:)!   Noah LOVES the shows on Disney, so if the TV is on, and Noah's watching, it's probably on Disney. We were watching the show "Jessie" the other day, and I was enamored by a skirt one of the characters, Zuri, was wearing.  I have tried to find a pic of it, but couldn't.  I will say, it had a HUGE, pretty, bright pink flower on a black skirt...INSPIRATION!!  I added a striped panel, but you get the idea...

I didn't have a flower die that was big enough to "fill" the whole card, so I stamped a sriped background.  Layered the flower twice for each set of petals, popped up the striped panel on the card.  I thought the orange embossing powder I had in one of my drawers would be perfect for another pop against the black, and go with the center of the flower.  Make sure you use an embossing bag to make sure your embossing powder is no where but on the ink:)!

 Can I just say...will any company ever make a super fine embossing powder in different colors?????  It is SO HARD to use the colored embossing powders with sentiments, as the sentiments really REQUIRE fine powder to look amazing...so, if you're reading this and are in a position to see this happen...I think SUPER FINE COLORED EMBOSSING POWDER WOULD BE SUPER AMAZING!!!  But, for now, I did my best (just not the way I would have loved for it to look!).

Hugs Three Ways

I had gotten the Papertrey Ink Big Hugs dies A WHILE ago...but just now getting around to playing with the favorite one of the 5 hug dies of the set, the one that led me to purchase the whole set!  I used it to make 3 different cards.   Here are my three...

It's such a LARGE die, it can most definitely be a stand alone.  The first one, I stamped a striped background stamp with versa mark at an angle on the card, then clear embossed after stamping the "& kisses" on the card in khaki.  The colors come from a google search for the color of hugs...

                                           

the brown and blue were colors that were recommended to go with the coral color (well, MY blue is a bit lighter than suggested, but I liked it:)!!).  LOVED that there was a paint color called "HUGS"!!

This second one was made AFTER making another card with the pink cardstock and orange embossing powder with a black card(which I will post tomorrow)...hey, had them out on my desk...couldn't resist all the bright, fun colors!!

For the third one,  I layered the "HUGS" with 2 layers underneath the top layer that didn't have the flower and leave die cuts removed.  After adhering together, I colored the top of the two layers of flowers and leaves and then adhered the third, top layer, cut from Bazzill paper (for texture).  The card's paper is Simon heavy weight cardstock whose tint of white went PERFECTLY with the bazzill textured paper's color.  I dotted the centers of the flowers with black enamel accents...love how it went with the sentiment!  Here's a close up...

Leftovers = Layers

I used the leftovers from yesterday's card to make today's card...along with some MORE of the same in SIX different colors of card stock...

I put 2 layers of die cut rectangles from the Pretty Pink Posh's Film strip die cuts from yesterday underneath each colored, same die cut rectangle.  I used a cute stitched heart die from W PLUS 9 Designs, and a sentiment from Papertrey Ink to make a card that will let the recipient know that I'm thinking of them with love:)!!  I LOVE the stitched all around look:)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Mother's Day Daisies

I was going through the frames section of my die storage box the other day, and came across the Pink Posh Film Strip die and KNEW I HAD to make something with it!!  It became a Mother's Day card...

I am IN LOVE with anything stitched...layered the frame a few times, then die cut the frame out of a regular sized card panel, then popped the whole panel(not cut down at all) onto a card.  The frame is sitting level with the card panel...having a popped up look on the top, but level with the panel underneath.   I put a yellow  gingham paper behind  the daisies...

The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink...LOVE these $5 sentiment stamp sets...thank you, happy birthday, thinking of you, get well, merry Christmas, Happy Valentine's day, now Happy Mother's day (I have them all:)!!)....LOVE the different fonts and the variety of the same sentiments...these sets are some of my favorite go tos!!  Thanks for visiting me today!!
