Christmas Blessings

I used the new Simon Says Stamp "Happy Christmas" die a different way and made a Happy Christmas into Christmas Blessings...
I LOVE the font on the Happy Christmas die, but thought it would be fun to simply use the Christmas part of the sentiment to make a card!  I hand cut the background border to the Christmas from the whole border and used a sentiment from the Tiny Words Christmas stamp set to complete the die cut Christmas!  I had my Simon heart dies on my craft desk from my last card, and found a perfect sentiment to go with the heart die.  I layered the die cut heart panel with a couple pieces of chipboard and added a piece of Lawn Fawn patterned Christmas paper.  Here's a close up...
Even though I took the "Happy" off the Christmas, this card makes me HAPPY!!  Such fun!!

You're Zebravest

During this holiday season, it's important to remember...Cancer doesn't take a holiday!  I have a dear neighbor who is fighting the good fight and especially during the Christmas season, needs some extra love and encouragement!!  I have had this adorable zebra for a while, and having this new set of Simon Says Stamp Punny Animals sentiment stamps from the latest release, Fun and Festive, I made the perfect card for my dear friend...
I die cut and layered the zebra and used some of the new patterned paper by Lawn Fawn to stamp the sentiment on.  I die cut a heart from the card panel, and die cut a couple pieces of chipboard underneath the main panel for some depth.  I popped the panel up on a card, here's a close up...

Critter Sweater Two Ways

Cuteness and fun abound with the new Simon Says Stamp Critter Sweater stamp/die sets!!  I have made a card using the Polar Bear die and given him a sweater with a snowy background for the first one...
I die cut the bear, then curved each of the sweater pattern strips before inking and stamping.  I stamped, then layered the bear, then adhered him to a black piece of cardstock that I had dotted with white gel pen spots for snow.  Here's a close-up...
The second card, I used the same colors and two of the three patterns from the first card, and made a thank you card...
I love the steel blue ink,  so I swiped a full sized card panel on the top and bottom with the blue...I think it kind of looks like suede...so cool.  I also swiped another piece of white cardstock, and die cut the sentiment from it...that way, the blues match...otherwise a bit distracting.  Here's a close up...
This was so much fun...these pattern strips are sweet and fun and easy to create with...you will probably see these again:)!!

Simply Done Christmas Trees in Gold

It's already the end of November...Christmas is less than ONE MONTH away!!  Yikes, where did November go??  Well, I've been visiting family for the last 3 weeks, so that's where MY month went...it was wonderful!!  I just got back into my craft room yesterday and wanted to make some more Christmas cards and came up with a couple very simple, but I think pretty ways to use one stamp... making two simply done, classic gold Christmas cards...
I used the one of the sentiment stamps from the new Simon Says Stamp Christmas Wishes stamp set as the sole image on both cards.  I stamped the first on watercolor paper with versa mark, gold embossed and then used my Peerless Watercolor papers and a watercolor brush to add some shape to the sentiment.  I then added some gold dots with my Prismacolor gold marker.  I LOVED the texture of the watercolor paper, and decided to make not only the sentiment/tree image on the watercolor paper, but pop it up on another piece of watercolor paper to continue the texture.  Here's a close up...
Then, I added one of the other sentiments from the pretty set on the inside embossed in gold like the tree...
The other one was done very much like the first, except that it was stamped on black cardstock, and the panel was kept bigger, embossing a stitched frame onto the panel...
I LOVED the gold against the black, and thought it looked complete, simply by itself!  I left the panel bigger than the first card, and adhered it directly to a gold piece of cardstock.  I also added the same sentiment on the inside of the card as I did the first card.  Here's a close up of the pretty sentiment...
This sentiment is so pretty, and makes for pretty and simply done Christmas cards...and who doesn't LOVE that??!!  FUN!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Hippopartymus!

I made a birthday card using the Simon Says Stamp Big Picture Book Hippo and Standing dies, along with a Simon balloon stencil and Punny sentiment, to make a birthday card...
Okay...this hippo is ADORABLE!!  I die cut, layered and adhered the hippo together.  I got the idea for the stenciled balloons from some gift wrap that I received some stamps/dies in from Simon.  I LOVED all the see through balloons on the paper, so I used a Simon Stencil and sponged distress ink on watercolor paper!  The sentiment is from the new Simon Says Stamp Punny Animals stamp set.  I combined the sentiment with some striped paper to give it a little heft....here's a close up...
I am loving this Big Picture Book animals...so much fun!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Baby's 1st Birthday!

I made a couple cards for my sweet granddaughter's 1st birthday!  I used a couple of the adorable Big Picture Book animal dies from the newest Simon Says Stamp release, Fun and Festive!...
I die cut and layered the Puppy and Big Body dies in textured gray and dark gray card stocks.  I stamped and die cut the "1" from the Simon Birthday Numbers stamp/die set and colored with my Prismacolor markers.  I used the "Happy Birthday" from the Birthday Borders stamp set, stamped in black and clear embossed.   Here's a close up...

The second card uses the Big Picture Book Bear and the Hugs body dies...

I did him just like the first, but I chose to add a die cut layered heart into his hugging paws.  Here's a close up...
I couldn't resist a  pic of my little sweetheart!  I am visiting Isla as of this writing, and having the time of my life loving on my doll baby!!  She turned one last week, is the joy of our family, and has stolen my heart...
These Big Picture Book animal dies are so much fun...am working on another while here with family, the fun continues no matter where I am:)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Duck the Halls

A couple weeks ago, I had a funny idea for a Christmas card that  I could not let it go of,  until I made the card...so here it is...
I used the adorable Lawn Fawn Rub-a-Dub stamp/die set along with the new Simply Winter sentiment stamp set!  I decided to combine parts of sentiments from both sets of stamps, cutting the "DECK" off one sentiment and adding the "DUCK" cut from another,  to make a cute funny, punny Christmas sentiment!  I combined those with two of the adorable ducks, along with the Christmas lights from the new Simon Says Stamp stamp/die set, Winter Scene.  I colored the lights with sharpie markers and used Glossy Accents to make the lights "look" like light bulbs.  I layered both the ducks and the bulbs and cut the sentiment stamps and stamped them on a panel.  I made two gray patches on the cards under the duck's feet, to ground the little guys to the card.  I added a small striped panel at the bottom for some added design, and to give more focus to the images and sentiment by making the space between the top and bottom just a bit smaller.  Here's a close up of the glossy lights...
Ok...this was great funny fun...

Christmas Ornaments

I used the pretty new CZ Design/Simon Says Stamp Ornamental stamp/die set from Simon's
Fun and Festive release and made a couple Christmas cards!...
I love the ornaments of this stamp/die set...what fun!  The snowflake stamps to stamp onto the ornaments are my favorite decorations of the set, so although the set comes with other wonderful decorations for the ornaments, I only used the snowflakes! What can I say...I LOVE snowflakes!!   I stamped the acutual ornaments with versa mark and silver embossed, then die cut.  I colored them with my Prismacolor markers, let them dry for a while, then stamped the snowflakes on with versamark and silver embossed.  I colored the tops of the ornaments with a silver inked pen.  I layered the ornaments and added to an embossed striped panel with the die cut "Merry" sentiment and another from the new Tiny Words stamp set.  Here's a close up of the ornaments...
Here's a close up of the die cut, layered, shiny silver merry sentiment...
Then, I did the same thing, but hung the ornaments from one of the new Words on a Line sentiment die cuts!  I used an old embossing folder for the snowflake background, and some silver thread to hang the ornaments from.  I DID have to put a hole into the tops of each ornament...I did that with my Tim Holtz retractable pick.
I love the silver snowflakes!!  I used my Prismacolor markers for these ornaments, like the first card.  Here's a close up...
Then a second close up...
Ok...this was great fun...I am loving silver and gold this Christmas with my cards...so fun and festive:)!!

Christmas Star

I used the Simon Says Stamp Holy Stars die and a couple sentiment stamps from the new Simon Christmas Wishes stamp set, to make a Christmas card...
I die cut and layered the star from silver cardstock.  I stamped the sentiments with versa mark and silver embossed.  I popped up the black panel on silver strips on either side of the panel.  I thought of putting a background, but I LOVED the simplicity of this star matched with the sentiments...less is more.  Here's a close up....
Ahhhh...simplicity for Christmas...now that's joy...and fun!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Love and Joy at Christmas

I used the new Memory Box/Poppy Stamps Seed Snowflake die along with a new set of sentiment stamps from Simon Says Stamp to make a Christmas card...
I die cut the pretty snowflake and layered a number of times.  I added a layered heart die cut from Lawn Fawn, as I thought that putting a heart in the center of the snowflake really "went" with the sentiment.  Finding the perfectly fitting heart was a bit of a challenge, but this heart die was perfect!  I stamped the sentiment with black and clear embossed.  I added a striped bottom and top piece to finish the card.  The red striped paper is from AC Moore.  Here's a close up...
I just think this snowflake die is SO pretty, here's another close up...
Such simple fun!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
