Pretty in Pink Curved Birthday Card

I have had the very pretty Simon Says Stamp Corbel Curve die for some time, just pulled it out and combined it with one of my favorite Birthday dies, from Simon, as well, to make a pinkfilled birthday card...
I die cut the border die from both sides of a white card sized piece of cardstock, then layered twice from underneath.  I embossed the curved image on both sides of another piece of cardstock, cut that piece in 1/2 and colored both embossed pieces.  I adhered the colored pieces to the layered pieces and then adhered them to the card panel.  I used two colored markers and colored a strip of cardstock and then die cut the "birthday" sentiment from the colored strip...like the ombre look:)!!  I opted to leave the card in the shape of the borders...thought it looked different and sort of cool!  I added some light pink rhinestones for some bling...here's a close up...
Hope you are having a great week...Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

I used the Memory Box Double Stitched Heart Rings and a rainbow assortment of cardstocks to make a thank you card...
I die cut and layered the hearts and adhered them down the side of the card.  I added a sweet Paper Smooches sentiment and some Tonic Crystal drops and Enamel Accents dot for texture.  The striped papers are recycled papers from a restaurant gift card, but you can also use the My Favorite Things Pinstripe stamp to achieve the same look...I've linked it in my supply list.  Here's a close up...
Rainbows and hearts...such great fun!!

Sprinkle Heart Cards

I used the new Simon Says Stamp Sprinkle Heart die and made three cards...
I used three markers and colored all the hearts and dots of the heart die, after embossing on a piece of cardstock...
I die cut the card panel, stamped the sentiment, then die cut and added a layer underneath the panel.  I adhered both those layers underneath, added some Tonic Jewel drops and popped the panel up on a card.  Here's a close up...
The second done just like the first, except with rainbow colored markers...
I, again, added some drops onto the hearts.  Here's a close up...
The third one is actually one that I made for Valentine's Day(but could be used for any day:)!!), but just didn't get it posted in time.  I cut out the hearts and dots of the die cut heart, and made it a shaker card...
I die cut the Sprinkle Heart in red, and dark and light pink, and used the hearts and dots to fill the heart.  Here's a pic of the pieces shaken up...
These were all so much fun to make...Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Shattered Triangles...Rainbow Style

I used paint chips with the Altenew Shattered Triangle die set to make a birthday card...
I die cut fourteen different colors of paint chips with the dies, adhered them to die cut then embossed triangles, and then layered the die cut triangles on top of the colors...three layers.  Ok...have to say...this was a bit of work.  I don't know what I was thinking, but I thought both small triangle dies had the same shaped pieces, just in different places on the triangles....WRONG!!  The two triangles of each size have different shaped triangles within them.  SO...I wound up having to recut many of the colored pieces to achieve my rainbow, making pieces that fit precisely into the places that I planned on placing them.  Oh my...I LOVE the look of the paint chips, but I am wondering how coloring the triangles with similiar colors would look....maybe will have to try it...but I would definitely go for something a bit simpler next time....but LOVE this die and it's possibilities!  Here's a close up...
Oh, geometric shapes, rainbows, and paint chips...it don't get much better than this:)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Simon Says Make Your Own Background

wed-newchallenge-header
It's Wednesday...and it's time for a new Challenge over at Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge!!  I am thrilled to be a guest designer for another challenge this week!!
The challenge this week is: Make Your Own Background
The challenge is showcasing Lawn Fawn products, and although not necessary to enter the challenge, if you have Lawn Fawn products to use on your cards, that would be wonderful!!

The winner of the challenge will be given a $50 gift voucher to Simon Says Stamp...sweet!!!

I made my own background with a set of Lawn Fawn border dies, Stitched Borders, that I embossed a number of times diagonally across my white cardstock.  The borders came attached, and I have not cut them apart, so it was very easy to emboss the four borders, and then move them all (the one piece), to emboss another four...
I then adhered a rainbow of cardstock strips together, and die cut the Lawn Fawn "thanks" die.  I layered the sentiment and added another Lawn Fawn sentiment from the Pizza My Heart stamp set.
I added some Tonic Jewel Drops for a little bling:)!  Here's a close up...

Such fun...who knew making backgrounds could be so much fun and be so easy!!
You have until next Wednesday at 8am (EST) to join the fun and create something amazing for this week's challenge!

Soft and Bold Under Vellum

I used the new Simon Says Stamp Cosmos Background stamp to make a couple cards.  They were made the same way, but have different looks...just because of color!  The first I used a soft pink...a monochromatic look... to color the cosmos...
I stamped the large stamp onto a card size piece of vellum...5 1/2"x 8 1/2".  I DID that, so that I could cut some off the bottom, to get just the right panel of these pretty flowers I wanted on my card, and be able to fold and wrap the vellum over the top, to adhere the vellum to the back of the card. I colored on the backside of the vellum with markers...two shades of pink and added the Simon Thanks die in black and layered.  Here's a close up...

The second one was done just like the first, except with red, orange and yellow cosmos, and a white instead of black "thanks"....a much bolder look than the pink:)!...
You can notice the clear embossing over the black ink on both cards...it gives the cards a textured look, but the color comes from "below"...
Oh how I love coloring on vellum...such fun!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Picture Book Giraffe Baby Card

I am having so much fun with all the new Simon Says Stamp Picture Book animal dies!!  They are so cute, and so much fun!!  I used my Picture Book Giraffe die to make a baby card...
I die cut the giraffe in 3 different cardstocks...brown/kraft/tan...diecutting each twice for layering.  I adhered them together and adhered them to an embossed giraffe that I  hand cut out, to have a whole giraffe to adhere all the pieces to...
Here are a few pics to show you what I did...
Put the die on a piece of cardstock on an embossing pad, then put the second embossing pad with an acrylic plate over those(if you have a Big Shot)...
After running it through, the giraffe will look like the pic on the left, and then you cut him out, like the beginnings of the pic on the right, to have a whole, secure piece to adhere all the little die cut pieces onto.  Hope this all makes sense:)!

I added a cute sentiment from the Simon Cuddly Critters Accessories stamp set.  I used the Tonic Jewel drops to add a few drops of bling to this little cutie!!  The card is embossed with a piece of burlap.  Here's a close up...
Such FUN!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

I chose to make a card for this week's challenge with not only one of my all time favorite Penny Black dies, but one my favorite flower dies...Pinwheel.  I also used the Penny Black leaves dies to accent my flower...
I die cut and layered the flower, added a dotted center, die cut from the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Daisies die set and a Simon sentiment from the Thoughtful Messages stamp set!  I layered the scalloped circle from underneath and popped up the panel on the card.  I also lightly embossed the panel with burlap for texture.  Here's a close up...

I Believe in "You"nicorn

Unicorns are mythical animals, but as I learned on Ellen DeGeneres's show, Game of Games, unicorns are the national animal of Scotland!  I think they are cool...and there are lots of versions of the unicorns.  My favorite version of unicorns are, you may have guessed it, the rainbow ones...and any rainbow animal is one loved by me!!  I used the new Simon Says Stamp Picture Book Unicorn to make a rainbow unicorn...
I cut some strips of cardstock in a rainbow of colors, adhered to paper, then die cut the unicorn's mane.  I did the same for the unicorn's horn...small strips of gold cardstock, to make his horn with some texture, definition, and shape.  I die cut the rest of this fellow in various cardstocks, layered all the pieces, then adhered them onto an embossed and cut out unicorn.  I die cut the circle, and layered from underneath.  I used a piece of black cardstock and embossed some stars, then die cut three stars to put around the unicorn.  I searched my stash for a sentiment that went perfectly with this pretty pony, and found one in the Simon Handwritten Love stamp set.  Here's a close up...
This was sooooo muchhhhhh funnnnn!!!!   Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
