Prettied Up Gift Cards

I have a couple "cards" to show you today...gift cards, that is!!  I used the new Simon Says Stamp Prettied Up Gift Card die set from the new STAMPtember release®, and made two cards to just skim the surface of how you could use this fun and pretty die for gift cards...all occasions...I've chosen two...first is Christmas...
I used the card I showed you yesterday, and put a gift card in it, and an envelope and "ribbon and bow" on it! You can dress up your card  with this set, to be a bonified gift!!!   Above, you see the card and the decorated envelope.  Below, the gift card inside the card...
I did the same striping on the inside of the card for the gift card as on the outside of the card....and so neat that I had a gift card with the same wording as the front of the card!!  You could give a gift card just cause you're thinking of someone, and could make the card and gift card holder, to fit your gift card...hence below...
I pulled this gift card out of my purse, to use as a sample, and went with the sky blue of the gift card to make the holder and bow.  I used vellum for the envelope(using my envelope punch machine, listed below), so that the pretty flowers would show through!  Ok...this die IS  soooooo PRETTY!!!  It could be used for ANY occasion...and if you're like me....I will use it a lot, because I AM a gift card giver!!
One thing to note with the bow... if using light cardstock like the red bow above, no problem with bow making.  Heavier cardstock like the blue, however, needs a little pre curling before putting together.  I used my Versamark marker and kind of kneaded the bow pieces over the marker a number of times.  They will start to curl a bit, and that's what you want, otherwise...you will get a crinkled wrinkled bow...look below...
The top bow is the bow simply bent over with no kneading, the bottom one is the one curled over my marker...really makes a difference...just a little tip!!
This die set continues to thrill me...so much fun!!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Stitched Strips Two Ways

I took another piece from the new Simon Says Stamp die set, Prettied Up Gift Card, and made a couple cards, the first a Christmas card...
I LOVE this stitched strip in this die set...it is fun and fun to create with, but especially because it is so long...the die is long enough to cut a strip that goes from end to end diagonally on an A-2 card:)!!  I die cut, adhered, then trimmed the strips.  I die cut the "JOY" then layered.  I cut from metallic paper, but the real shine and prettiness is lost in pictures.  Here's a close up, anyway:)...

The second card, I used the strips horizontally and made a "rainbow", using the sentiment from the new Simon Says Stamp set, You've Got This stamp set, and some teardropped rhinestones...
The die cut strips weren't quite wide enough to fit the length of my card, so I left a white border that matched the with of the sentiment, on three sides of the card.  Here's a close up of the card...
I still have yet to make the gift card...it's coming...such fun with this die!!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Autumn Blessings

I got my Big Shot!!  By the time I had gotten it, I had made a card cutting out the image by hand... I used a leaf stamp from the new Simon Says Stamp set, Ornate Leaves set from the new Stamptember® release, and made this card...
I have been having a "thing" with embossing powder of late, and thought with the bold image of this beautiful leaf stamp, and Fall apon us, the use of gold and copper colored embossing powder would look special for this leaf stamp!!  I used a magic bag on a piece of black cardstock(to keep the static from making powder go everywhere), stamped the leaf with versa mark, and sprinkled copper, then gold embossing powder onto the image, then embossed.  I hand cut the leaf with scissors and layered with more hand cut leaves who's embossing I wasn't that happy with.  The sentiment is also from the same set...such pretty stamps!!  Here's a close up...
Such fun...Tomorrow... some DIE CUTS!!   Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Hello with Hearts

My Big Shot BROKE....πŸ˜©πŸ˜žπŸ˜”πŸ˜–...creating has temporarily come to a halt!!  You say...it's just a die cutter...well, for me, it's like being a Baker without an oven!! Yes, I DO stampπŸ˜†, but even accenting stamping or die cutting stamped images...it is scary how much I depend on this machine!!!   I ordered a machine from Walmart(2 day free delivery...)...only thing was, when I picked it up and took it home, I found I had ordered a Big Shot without a PLATFORM!!  This will be my third machine...who knew a Big Shot would come WITHOUT a PLATFORM?????!!!!!  NOT ME!!  It DID come with a thick Sizzix die......REALLY???...THAT didn't help me as I had thrown away all the worn pieces of my old one when I knew I was getting a new machine.  Yes, I now know to THOROUGHLY READ the description of whatever I am purchasing!!!  So, I'm waiting for a two day Amazon delivery for a machine WITH a platform...until then, I have a card to share with you that I made over a week ago, that I hadn't put on my blog yet...all dies...need I say more???...
I used a Memory Box die, Triple Stitched Heart die(I think it is retired, but I just got it), and the Mama Elephant Hello Script die.  I layered the "hello" and glossy accented it.  The Memory Box heart die has three hearts,
I extetended the die to make five hearts, extending it across the card.  I did this by die cutting the three hearts in the middle of the panel, and then placing the die over the end two (doing this for each side) and die cutting once more to get an extra heart on each side.  I made another 5 heart strip and layered underneath the top panel, and then adhered colored die cut hearts that I had cut from the die.  Here's a close up...
Fun...Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Rounded Diamond Shaped Thanks

I love dies and I love shapes...I just got the Simon Says Stamp Prettied Up Gift Card die set, from the STAMPtember® release,  and made a card with the part of the set typically used for the bow...a cool shape and a die...ahhh...
I die cut the "diamond shaped" pieces in four colors and layered.  I randomly adhered around the card, and cut off the excesses.  Added a die cut and layered sentiment and some enamel dots:)!!  Here's a close up...
Making a card with the gift card die is for sure, but I have an idea for a card using another part of this die set:):)!!  Such fun!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Memory Box Squares #2

I used the Memory Box Square dies, along with some punched flowers to make a thinking of you card...
Sunflowers bloom in Summer and Fall, but their colors definitely speak Fall to me, and I thought a thinking of you card that matches the season was just what I needed to make:)!  I punched the flowers and added a punched circle for their middles, using some die cut leaves for a touch of extra color!  I textured the card for a little interest, here's a close up of the flowers and card...
The daisy punch can be found at Michael's, the flower is 1" wide (it's smaller than any daisy dies I have), the circle is 3/8" wide...just in case you were interested.  FUN!!
