I used the fun new die from Simon Says Stamp's Die-cember release, Decorated Branch, and made a couple cards with a couple different looks...you know me and rainbows:):)...
The first one, I left the branch and strings with bows all white, the only color being the hearts. It took 3 different Paper Smooches stamp sets to make the sentiment, but together, they said exactly what I had wanted them to say:)! I layered the branch and each of the hearts 3 times.
Tor the second one, I die cut the branch in brown, layered and then die cut the strings and bows in metallic silver, cut out, and adhered to the layered brown branch. I die cut the hearts in red, only, layered, and used glossy accents to give the hearts a bit of a shine...
The sentiment is from Stampabilities...I masked the "love" and stamped that word in red while the rest of the sentiment was stamped in dark chocolate. The die is soooo cool...also comes with little boxes for gifts...great for birthdays or special gift giving occasions, but LOVE these hanging hearts!!! Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

In studying your second card, and reading how you accomplished having three different colors cut from the same die, I have a question. I can figure out the red hearts, as they look detached from the main die and could be cut separately from red CS. When you changed just the strings and bows to silver, did you have to protect the rest of the branch from being run through your die cutter and having that portion of the die cut directly into your cutting pad? What I am wanting to learn is if a die is damaged if we run it through our machines with no CS on certain portions? That probably makes no sense, but I would sure hate to damage the cutting edges of my expensive dies. I'm hoping you can help me. Thank you for your time.
ReplyDeleteLove these cards!!!
