I am so enamored with the Simon Says Stamp Circle Frame die...I made a couple cards, simply changing the paper colors, textures and sentiment to get two different looking cards...
This first one, I used textured reds, grays and black along with a layered glossy accented "thanks". The white frames are layered three times on each card.
The second one, I used bold, bright colors to make a birthday card...
I could see this being made with pastel colors, black and white, baby colors...oh yeah, the possibilities are enormous!!
It has been a hard weekend...we put our beloved Lucy to sleep early Saturday morning...she was 15 years old. We gave her freedom from a body that was so old, it didn't work any more. Although I was never the biggest animal lover in my house (we bought her for our children), my family called Lucy my shadow, she almost never left my side and followed me EVERYWHERE...to the very end, despite the fact that her back legs stopped working. She was a loving, devoted, sweet dog, and we are missing her very much...never thought it would be this hard, or I would cry this much... I love you, Lucy!! (yes, I named her after the show:)!)...
On a ride to the ice cream shop (she got a doggie cup!)
Thanks for visiting me today!!
Hugs!! Lisa
Beautiful and stunning cards Lisa - that die is FABULOUS.
ReplyDeleteWishing you and your family a special Christmas despite the sad news about your poor pooch very sad especially so near to Christmas. Ours is almost 8 years old and when his day comes I'm not sure how we'll be as they certainly become one of the family don't they?
Take care xx
I saw this die at SSS and thought it may have many possibilities. You just showed me how much. Great cards. I'm so sorry for your loss of Lucy. May all the fond memories help you as you go through this loss.
ReplyDeleteGORgeous cards. You have way better luck than I do with layering the multiple die-cuts. Mine never come out that perfect.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about Lucy. Our furbabies really become part of the family, don't they? You have your sweet memories, and she's waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge. {hugs}
I am so sorry about your sweet Lucy. She lived a long and happy life with you, though, and that's what matters most.
ReplyDeleteYour cards are beautiful and I especially like the bright colors on the second one. The more I see this die, the more I want it!
Awww, what a sweetie! I'm so very sorry for your loss. As hard as it is, we're fortunate to have such a peaceful way to let our pets go when it's time.
ReplyDeleteI'm fairly new to your blog and am enjoying your cards. Your style is different than many of the cutesy blogs I follow so it's always fun to mix it up with your latest creation.
First of all, beautiful, beautiful cards made with a fabulous die, Lisa.
ReplyDeleteMy heart goes out to you, saying good-bye to your devoted companion - so lovely to think of the sweet life that she had with your loving care, if only all dogs had that kind of experience. I'm sorry, Lisa, xx
I love both of these cards. You have really shown how versatile these dies are. And, I am so sorry about your dog. It must be so hard lose a constant companion. She looks like she was so happy and had a very good life.
ReplyDeleteFabulous, graphic cards. Adore the first one!
ReplyDeleteLisa, so sorry to hear about your Lucy. I've been through it and it is just heart wrenching. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
ReplyDeleteSweet little Lucy......May she live on in your heart. Losing a pet is so very hard.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your amazing card-making talent. Your creations are an inspiration!
Beautiful cards. I understand why you like this die. It gives great opportunities to create new designs. Both of cards beautiful, especially the colorful delights me.
ReplyDeleteI understand your sorrow and tears over the loss of Lucy. In mid-November, we said goodbye to our beloved cat, and although her was a favorite of my husband, just it hurt me her loss. Pets give us the unconditional love and for that we love them so much, and their loss so hurt.
I wish you a Merry Christmas,
Bozena
Lovely idea. That die is on my wish list for sure! So sorry about your little Lucy. It sounds like she had a great life with you. I know you will never forget her. Take care.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you lost Lucy! That is tough on the whole family...just went through it last winter. Thanks for your blog...I think you are one of the most talented designers out there!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards. I just love that die. So nice to see how you used it. Lovely. So sorry to hear of the passing of you beloved pet Lucy. I do know how hard it is. Losing a pet is very difficult as they are part of the family. God Bless. Wishing you and you're family a very Merry Christmas. Hugs
ReplyDeleteI've been reading your blog for a long time but like with all the other blogs I read I don't usually leave comments. But, I just had to say how sorry I am about Lucy. She looks like a sweetie! Like you, I'm not the biggest animal lover (my husband is a big enough one for the both of us!), but I do love cats and have owned a few. (Well, as they say you never really "own" a cat! LOL!) We had to put down our last cat for the same reason you did Lucy. It's been nearly two years now and I'm still tearing up just thinking about our dear Rocky. Isn't it amazing how these sweet, wonderful creatures hold such a place in our hearts?! Your Lucy will be forever missed and I'm sure always remembered.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry about Lucy Lisa. They become family don't they?! Hugs to you gf. I love how you used the circles.
ReplyDeleteI love everything you do with this die! I particularly love the red and grays - stunning! I'm so very sorry for the loss of your beautiful Lucy.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are enjoying the holidays with family! I am sending you good thoughts and hugs realizing how difficult it must be without your shadow, Lucy.
ReplyDeleteHola!!
ReplyDeleteWhat absolutely amazing cards. Love the design x
ReplyDeleteI love these cards! How much fun! I'm also so very sorry you lost your Lucy. It sounds like both of you were very lucky to have each other!
ReplyDeleteSweet little Lucy. Wonderful memory of you both having your ice cream together! Bet she was a great cuddler too. Sending you love as it's so difficult.
