Leaf Column Cards

Another wonderful die from Simon Says Stamp's Summer Release, Leaf Column Outline die, and I made a couple cards with some inspiration from a Hallmark store card(a card with die cuts having the fine details remain in the die cut space)...
I die cut the leaves from kraft paper and used a dauber to sponge some color to a glossy piece of paper...
Then I placed the paper behind the die cut and added the sentiment with versamark and white embossing powder.

My daughter in Tennessee was wanting for wedding cards, I thought making a long, Rustic white card with a lovely sentiment from a new Avery Elle stamp set with this die was fitting.  The card measures 4" x 7".   I popped up and gave the Leaves depth.  Here's a close up...

This is a pic to show you how I adhered the stems to the back side of the card panels...with Scor Tape(the yellow is the paper that was underneath the off white paper I was working with...the yellow simply showing through), putting small strips of Scor Tape across each part of each stem(7 pieces of tape per stem...I know lots of taping, but not hard and didn't take long)...
Whether simple or a little more complex...SO MUCH FUN!!!   Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

I'm here...

This card was simply made with a stamp set from My Favorite Things and some distress ink.  I think all the silhouetted flowers and sweet sentiments of this set are simply lovely...
I stamped the flowers(bent the flower stamps a bit) on glossy paper with versamark and clear embossed.  I used distress inks sponged over the flowers.  Used My Favorite Things Rectangle dies to cut a panel out of the main panel (Papertrey Ink White), adhered the flowers to some pop up dots and popped up panel with stamped sentiment, also My Favorite Things, the same set.  Thanks for visiting me today!! Butterflies, Rainbows...Happy!!

This card combines some of my favorite things...rainbows, butterflies and sentiments with "happy".  The stamp for these Clearly Besotted butterflies has a gingham design and I am loving that, too!!...
I die cut the Clearly Besotted butterflies and then stamped and added a matching colored rhinestone.  I popped up the wings with Kool Tak...clear and just the right umph for the wings:)!!  The sentiment is two sentiment pieces put together, stamped vertical.

"I've Got Sunshine..."

I know I'm dating myself...The Temptations and My Girl.  The song starts with, "I've got sunshine...on a cloudy day"...there are probably a few of you who remember, oh, but I digress.   I ordered a set of stamps by My Favorite Things that I thought went PERFECTLY with a brand new Simon Says Stamp Sunshine die I have and made a couple cards...easy, simple but oh so much fun!!!...
This first one I die cut a rectangle out the panel with my Spellbinders die and used the same die to die cut a yellow rectangle.   I then used the SSS Sunshine die and, matching up the corners with rays, die cut the sun.  I used some thin chipboard and die cut twice more and cut to size using the first die cut as a pattern.  I stamped the sentiment and popped up the white panel on card, then placed the sun and rays back inside the panel.  I didn't layer the circular center, but simply adhered to card.
The second one I used the same yellow paper, Papertrey Ink's Summer Sunrise(fitting for sunshine, don't you think?!) die cut the sun and then a couple more to layer.  Stamped the sentiment on the blue panel and put the sunshine up to the sentiment to cut pieces of the sun's rays to show the sentiment.  I added a tiny magenta colored heart and popped up the whole panel on a card of the same color.

Happy Anniversary

I was totally inspired by an invitation for a blessing ceremony we got in the mail yesterday to make an anniversary card...
Used a branch and a bird die from Memory Box.  I die cut the branch in bazzill java and again twice in shiny gold.  I cut the leaves off the brown branch along with part of a branch(made the remainder look like it was an extension of the main branch), and cut and pasted the gold leaves to the brown branch.  I added a few extra for some "flow"...it just looked too stiff and unnatural without some extra leaves here and there.  Here's a pic of the branch in it's original cut...
Ok...I know what you're thinking...that's a lot of pasting.  Yes, it took a little bit of time, but I really love the gold leaves...especially for an anniversary card.  Hey, but what about shiny copper paper and gold paper for Fall...I'm on it:):)!!!  The sentiment is Clearly Besotted...love these sentiments!!  The card is Stampin Up Sahara Sand.  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Three Embroidered Blooms Cards

I took out my Papertrey Ink Embroidered Blooms set last night...decided to try my hand at some serious stamping...one layer cards.  One layer cards are not as easy as they look!!   I made two one layer cards and a simple 2 layer stamped on linen:)...
This was the first card I made.  I WAS going to add die cut flowers, but these flowers were too pretty on their own, and DIDN'T look great cut by hand!  SO...I stamped the flowers, masked them and stamped the leaves over the masks.  I stamped the sentiment and added 2 slightly different colored enamel dots(My Mind's Eye) to the flower's centers.

This was my second attempt...wanting to try gray and black for the leaves. I know this card looks soooooo simple, but I can't tell you how many pieces of paper I went through to get what you see here.  One smudge, poorly stamped and/or crooked sentiment...oh my...it seemed every attempt had one or more errors, but I was determined to follow through and finish!!   The leaves didn't look great alone, so I punched some tiny dots with a hole punch, adhered to the stems and dotted with glossy accents.  Here's a close up...

Then...I wanted to try the black and gray on a die cut, and pop out of the panel.  I decided to pull out a piece of linen with backing that I got at Michael's.  The linen was PERFECT with Stampin up's Sahara Sand colored paper...
Here's a close up of the linen and the popped up leaves( I used 1/16" dots on the black panel, 1/8" dots on the smaller leaves and 1/16" + 1/8" on the larger leaves to REALLY pop them out).  I'm showing you a close up, because it's hard to see the dimension with a picture of the card...
I am going to try to work a bit more with stamps I have purchased and not really used...I have a lot of unloved, beautiful stamps!!  Now, Embroidered Blooms has gotten a little bit of love:)

There is no InLinkz as for some unknown reason, I cannot create links for Papertrey Ink products :(

You are Loved

I made this card based on one of the 3 card sketches in the Online Card Class Summer Card Camp 2...
I die cut a rectangle with My Favorite Things Rectangle dies out of a white panel and immediately after that, with a heart die from Simon Says Stamp.  I cut strips of colored paper in the class's colors for the week, adhered them to the rectangle panel, and added a stamped and die cut sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.   I die cut  a heart(glossy paper covered with melon mambo) and layered with some light chipboard.  I coated the "you" with glossy accents.  Placed the striped panel back into the main panel, turned over, adhered and popped up on white card.  LOVE these colors...make me feel so happy!!
