CAS(E) this Sketch! 47...Wavy Birthday Wishes

What a cool sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch this week!!  I knew EXACTLY what I was going to do as soon as I saw it...ever have one of those sketches...only happens to me once in a great while, but it did with this one:)!!  Here's my card and the sketch...
I KNEW I would use a die cut sentiment in the middle and my Papertrey Ink Rickrack border die in different colors for the wavy lines...being the literal kind of sketch person I am...no surprises here:)!!
I used a white piece of paper 1//4" shorter than an A2 card, and die cut the wavy lines 6 times with thin spaces between the cuts, 3 on each side of the middle.  I then die cut the "birthday" and its colored letters and stamped the "wishes" with a cut up Papertrey ink sentiment.  I opted for a more straight line sentiment...thought all the wavy lines were enough curves for this card.  I replaced the die cut white wavys with colored ones and adhered the whole die cut filled panel of lines and letters onto a solid panel for stability.  FUN, FUN, FUN!!   Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Less is More 138...Felt or Fabric

I am right under the wire with this week's challenge at Less is More...the challenge...to use felt or fabric on your clean and simple card.  I don't have a lot of fabric, and couldn't figure on what to do with felt, but had a piece of denim that I had gotten at Michael's and made this...
This was done with a set from W Plus 9 Designs and a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp. I stamped with Color Box white on the denim and cut out.   My daughter once told me that SHE would prefer to have me make cards that are more generic with their sentiments so that they could be used for a variety of occasions.  "Happy" could be birthday, for you, day, wishes, graduation, just plain happy...you get my drift, thus the plain "happy":)!!  I had originally wanted to use the flowers from the set, but saw this little circle in a circle and thought it PERFECT for the stems and a rainbow of colors...not sure if that was what it was intended for, but for me...it works!!  There are three colors that I used and are not linked...time constraints, but wanted to let you know....Stampin Up Poppy Parade, Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise.  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

CAS•ology 63...Autumn

The cue card this week at CAS•ology this week, the cue card is Autumn...
Here's my card...
I decided to use some very heavy weight paper  and die cut this really cool leaf.  I then took a piece of watercolor paper and embossed it with the same die to have the detailed veins underneath the die cut...
Here's a pic of the papers as I started...
I painted with distress inks, water and a brush...letting the colors go over/outside the lines...yes, it felt good to color outside the lines, so that when it was underneath the die cut, the color would continue:)!!  Oh...had to add that I emboss the leaf a second time after the inks have dried to give it a deeper impression!  Add pop up dots underneath the die cut panel and add the watercolored leaf to the panel.  I was having so much fun, I decided to do another in orange...
Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
Edited: Thank you so much, Judy, for choosing my card as an honorable mention this week!!
I am honored to have received your recognition...you made me smile: and made my week)!!

Wooden Tree

Just a super quick post with ...yes...my favorite tree die EVAH...this time made with wood and handmade paper...
I layered both the tree and sentiment and adhered only the trunk of the tree to the panel and this time, let the leaves go "au natural".  The wood paper was in a package of papers I purchased from Simon Says Stamp with a variety of really cool papers...and I LOVE the 2 sheets of wood veneer papers.  The handmade paper is a  piece I've had in my stash for a long time...thought with fall and it's colored texture, was PERFECT with my wooden tree.  Found a cream card to match.  Here's a closeup of the tree...

Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

CAS(E) this Sketch 46...Fall Daisies

I have a few containers that I keep all the die cut "shapes and things" that I don't use...thinking that one day, I'll find a card to use them on.  WELL...while looking for a felt something for a challenge, I found a white die cut flower with a yellow enamel dot on it and immediately fell in love with it...a daisy, I thought:)!!  I have Montauk daisies growing out at my mailbox which are Fall blooming and are just starting to bloom ... I knew I HAD to make a card with some "daisies" (the die isn't really a daisy, but I think it kinda looks like one)...so cool knowing that daisies aren't just for summer...they are Fall, too!!:).  The sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch this week seemed a perfect fit.  Here's my card and the sketch...
A fun, simple sketch with lots of possibilities...
Here's a pic of my daisies, my inspiration, at my mailbox...I'm not showing  you a full view because the bottom leaves are sun scorched and yellow....but here's a close up...
I made my card with flower dies from My Favorite Things, the sentiment and banner from Simon Says Stamp and the burlap from Michael's.  The paper is the Rustic White from Papertrey ink...a tiny bit darker white with tiny flecks in it...darker than the white I usually use, but loved it here.
Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

EDITED 9/28...My card was chosen as the winner for this week's challenge!!  So honored and thrilled to be chosen by Chrissy and the ladies at CAS(E) this Sketch!!  Thank you so much for the recognition:)!!
