I have a few containers that I keep all the die cut "shapes and things" that I don't use...thinking that one day, I'll find a card to use them on. WELL...while looking for a felt something for a challenge, I found a white die cut flower with a yellow enamel dot on it and immediately fell in love with it...a daisy, I thought:)!! I have Montauk daisies growing out at my mailbox which are Fall blooming and are just starting to bloom ... I knew I HAD to make a card with some "daisies" (the die isn't really a daisy, but I think it kinda looks like one)...so cool knowing that daisies aren't just for summer...they are Fall, too!!:). The sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch this week seemed a perfect fit. Here's my card and the sketch...
I made my card with flower dies from My Favorite Things, the sentiment and banner from Simon Says Stamp and the burlap from Michael's. The paper is the Rustic White from Papertrey ink...a tiny bit darker white with tiny flecks in it...darker than the white I usually use, but loved it here.
Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
EDITED 9/28...My card was chosen as the winner for this week's challenge!! So honored and thrilled to be chosen by Chrissy and the ladies at CAS(E) this Sketch!! Thank you so much for the recognition:)!!
A fun, simple sketch with lots of possibilities...
Here's a pic of my daisies, my inspiration, at my mailbox...I'm not showing you a full view because the bottom leaves are sun scorched and yellow....but here's a close up...I made my card with flower dies from My Favorite Things, the sentiment and banner from Simon Says Stamp and the burlap from Michael's. ReplyDeleteThe burlap is so rustic - it gives the card a real feel of nature. Love the pretty die cut flowers.
ReplyDeleteOh I LOVE it but with a tinge of sadness. Explain! My niece created a mixed media project some years ago depicting the 1845 Potato Famine in Ireland - the hessian/burlap in your pretty card evokes a certain poignancy in me BUT your card is worth casing!
