Two "Fast Fixin" Valentines

One of my favorite recipes of my mom's is her Fast Fixin Chocolate Chip Cake...fast, easy and DELICIOUS!!  With Valentine's Day almost here... I made a couple fast, easy and well...SWEET valentines last night...
I die cut a pink frame from 2 of the MFT heart stax dies (and layered with chipboard), then punched a bunch of flowers.  I just put a dot of glossy accents on the back and went to town adhering them on to the frame...random...no thought(it was late)...then dotted every center showing with enamel accents.  Adhered to sentiment stamped card...easy peasy!!

This one was simply die cut from the Verve dies and layered...I know...so easy...but I could not resist!!

OK...here's the recipe for the cake I mentioned:

Fast Fixin’ Chocolate Cake

1 pkg. Duncan Hines Devil’s food cake mix
¼ cup oil
2 eggs
1 ¼ cups water
1 pkg instant chocolate pudding
1 cup chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Pour oil into 9x13 pan.  Tilt pan making sure bottom is covered with oil.  Mix remaining ingredients into pan, stir with a spoon until blended(about 2 minutes).  Scrape sides and spread batter evenly in pan.  Bake 35-45 minutes, toothpick comes out clean…springs back when touched.  Cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar.   DELICIOUS!

Papyrus Inspired

When inspiration seems "no where to be found", I go to my computer files where I keep sketches and cards that REALLY inspired me when I put them there and find something that "speaks" to me. I found a Papyrus card tucked away  for a long while that I really liked, so I decided to CASE it:)!!    The Papyrus card was very similar, with colored strips, mixed with silver and black strips and a vellum stamped sentiment over the strips...I had found my inspiration:)...
I adhered the strips to a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of thinner card stock(to avoid too much weight).  I stamped, embossed, wrapped, scored, folded and adhered the vellum to the card and adhered the whole panel to a white card.  Took me a while to find a lengthy sentiment, in this case scripture, to fit the space, but thought it a perfect fit!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! "Pasted" Hearts Birthday card

I was in the mood to use a stencil...I pulled out a wonderful Simon Says Stamp stencil full of hearts, and with a variety of colored craft paint + embossing paste and a couple birthday sentiments, made this...
I made this card using one color + embossing paste at a time.  I masked the stencil, mixed and spread the paste (just a tiny bit of paste with a drop of paint...VERY LITTLE of both:)!), let dry and went to the next color.  Now...lest you think I've lost my mind, know that this was SO SIMPLE...and although you DO have to wait about an hour in between colors, it is pretty effortless...make another card while you're waiting...or whatever, then come back to it and lay down another color.  You COULD just sponge some color into the heart cutouts of the stencil, but I LOVE the raised look the embossing paste gives the hearts...great dimension and texture you just don't get from simply sponging...

Coral Birthday Flower

I pulled out one of my cover-a-card stamps to make, combined with one of my favorite flower dies, a birthday card...
I wanted to showcase simply one of the birthday sentiments, so I used a piece of scotch tape over the sentiment, inked the stamp with gray ink, and after I had stamped the gray on the card, cleaned the stamp and masked the space around that sentiment while I inked simply the sentiment with coral.  I ALSO made certain that the stamped sentiments were in the same place on the card by using my t-ruler against the stamp and then lining up the card against the ruler...

Love Cut Out

I used the same cute paper from some of my former Valentine's Day cards and, with a cool My Favorite Things "LOVE" die, made a sort of see through card...
This is the card laying down.

Here is a pic of the card open...

I die cut the word from the patterned paper and the white card, then die cut the letters and hearts from...yes...paint chips.  I adhered the acetate sheet to the patterned/paint chipped cut out paper, then adhered the two stuck together sheets with the die cut card.
 Ok...this was so much fun!!

Sending More Love and Hugs

Pulled out a sweet little envelope die from Simon Says Stamp from my die box, combined with some die cut hearts and a Simon sentiment from their new set Sending and Wishing and made a card that could be for Valentine's Day...or for any day:)...
The paper is from American Crafts/ Pebbles...cool for this envelope, as it's 2 sided patterned paper. Die cut the hearts and adhered with glue dots popping out of the envelope...
Short and sweet...hope you have a wonderful day:)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

LO♥E

Today I have a couple cards, one made with a stencil and single die, the other with all dies.
I wasn't fortunate enough to get my hands on the MFT LO♥E Centerpieces die set for Valentine card creating, but did manage to get  a stencil.  I used translucent embossing paste mixed with black craft paint and a heart die to create the closest thing I could to that die and made a shaker card:)!!...
For the inside of the shaker, I used a Memory box and Mama Elephant dies.

My second card uses a bunch of the dies that I got with another MFT die set...all the bold block words from the set, and a couple heart dies from another set of MFT dies..
I adhered black cardstock to the back of the white panel for the "love you" and used a shiny metallic magenta die cut heart that I glossy accented.  I love love:)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
