I had made this card for the CASology challenge a couple weeks ago when the cue card was BLACK...but made card with a black dress on it for the black challenge, instead. On this card, I put a twine tied heart on the branch of the tree, but just didn't like it, until I took the twined bow off the tree and, using a marker, COLORED the twine black to keep from taking away from the sole color of the heart, and the black tree and birds. Here's my card and a pic of the original...YOU tell ME what you think:)...
My first attempt with the twine "au naturale"...
I used Simon Says Stamp tree and heart dies, stencil and sentiment, and Memory Box bird dies. Had to cut the beautiful trunk off this tree to make it fit the card's height (I keep trimming the trees:)!) Dotted the hanging heart with Glossy Accents. Your design sense is right on, as usual. The black twine is just right. Lovely card!

ReplyDeleteAdorable!! Hmmm...decisions, decisions. Kraft twine makes the heart really stick out as the focal image. Black twine blends well. Maybe white twine is the compromise LOL! Lot of help, I am huh LOL! Great card regardless!

So dramatic - and therefore I think the black twine works better. I love the snow most, though. I've made a similar card with that tree, but never would have thought of using black. Love it.
