I was thrilled and am so honored to have been asked to be the guest designer for this week's challenge at CAS•ology!!
I love the Cue Card challenges, isn't it amazing what things we think of from a simple word? And taking a word and making a card from it...makes for some amazing fun and fun challenges each week!!
The Cue Card for this week...the word SHOP!
Given the time of year...the only "shop" I kept thinking of was...
Being that Thanksgiving is only celebrated in the United States, you might not know what Black Friday is. Black Friday is the Friday following Thanksgiving that marks the start of the Christmas shopping season. It is said to be the day when most stores are finally "in the black" financially for the year. It's a day when many stores have huge "deals" and open their doors earlier every year (this year a number of stores are open ON THANKSGIVING...now I think that's AWFUL!!) to garner the shopping dollars of more customers. It can be fun...you start out really early in the morning to get all the great sales and shop til you drop. I did it one year......CRAZY...that was enough for me! This card is for my daughter who will shop on that day! I used an alphabet die set from Papertrey Ink and sponged red ink on a new stencil from Simon Says Stamp...thought it gave the "Black Friday" more of a Christmas feel:). I have put a couple gift cards for food(Chipolte) and drink(Starbucks) to keep my daughter going:):)!! I made the envelopes with vellum and a giftcard die from Simon Says Stamp...
Thank you, Melissa and ladies, for having me on your team this week....so much fun, as usual...love CAS•ology!! Hope your day is wonderful!! Hugs!! Lisa

I hope you tucked a gift card into that amazing card for your daughter! I've done Black Friday once [even though I don't live in the US] and I'm not eager to do it again!
ReplyDeleteSuper FUN!!

Lisa, I LOVE this idea! I think I might stick a couple handwarmers in the pockets for those die hard Black Friday shoppers! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the stripes on this...the black letters really stand out!
Thank you so much for joining us as guest designer for this week's challenge!!!
Thanks for explaining Black Friday Lisa - I didn't know what it was until I visited here today!! Love the candy stripes on your card too - very festive!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Caryn xxx
Awesome take on the cue, Lisa - it totally cracked me up! :D
ReplyDeleteOH how fun is this? I love the stripes!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great mom you are. This is the perfect card for your daughter. I tried shopping on Black Friday once and gave up in the middle. No savings (if you really find some) is worth the hassle to me.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! I do like the fact that it contains goodies too - your daughter must have had fun with this!
ReplyDeleteLisa, what a briliant card for the cue this week...and I love the gift card holders inside, too! So glad to have you guest designing with us this week at CSology!
