CAS-ual Fridays 74...Put Your Heart Into It!

CAS-ual Fridays is in the final week... counting down to a HUGE announcement...there are a couple ways you can find out more about it all AND be a part of all the wonderful excitement!!...
Check out CAS-ual Fridays Facebook page for clues HERE!!
Be a part of the fun and enter a contest for a chance to win a wonderful prize when the announcement is made on October 19th... HERE!!
Until then...FIVE days and counting...you'll just have to keep guessing:)!!
This week's challenge at CAS-ual Fridays is to make a clean and simple project that uses a heart....
How fitting it is that this week's sponsor is I{heart} papers ...

You can check out CAS-ual Fridays for all the deets!!
Here's what I made with hearts...
I made this with the medium Papertrey Ink heart die and a Hero Arts border stamp.

I made it with Fall colors.  Wanted to show you how I did it(just in case anyone should ever wonder...it could happen... By some trial and error, I learned how to make it super simply and wanted you to know how, too:)!!)...  the color variations are endless...for my sample I chose rainbow colors...my Go-to color combo of late...one of my very favorites!!..
1.  Die cut 7 hearts and stamp the sentiment on a piece of 5 1/2" long cardstock(I used a real thin cheap white cardsock).
2. Put light adhesive on back of each heart and adhere over the sentiment(kind of going with the wave-like directions).
3.Place the heart die over the last heart and press down to secure a little and then die cut

  4.  Die cut all the hearts from right to left until all cut out...saving the bottom of the cut out white cardstock.

5. Using the white cut out cardstock, adhere it to bottom of card( I used Eclipse tape...no stick) and use it as pattern to place all the hearts in perfect positioning ... again, lightly adhere the hearts( they now have the cheap white cardstock on the backs of them), now to the card!  Now they are laying flat with one another...time to stamp!

 6.  Using a Stamp-a-ma-jig(and I used a static bag over the hearts before stamping), stamp the sentiment and clear emboss over the hearts.
 7. Pull off hearts one at a time and add a dimensional square still using the pattern(you can see it's still in place at the very bottom of pic) to keep the hearts in right position when putting them back on card...and
8.  Voila!!(I textured the card with a different Papertrey Ink texture plate on each card).
Hope you'll join in the fun this week...make certain to check out the inspiration on the CAS-ual Fridays BLOG AND FACEBOOK...hope you all have a wonderful week!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Peace on Earth...a Redo and a Give-away!

On the Kick Start class I took recently, one of the things that was mentioned was to take old cards and redo.  I had made this card two years ago when I didn't have a blog yet, my only source of showing my work was Splitcoaststampers...you can find my original(scary how I photographed then...not sure why it's sooooo bad, I had the same camera.  I think I've learned just a little about picture taking since then:):):)!!!)  HERE...I did away with the framing, changed the sentiment, made the snowflakes smaller and colored the scene just a tad differently...maybe not a real redo...but a redo for me...
Made with a stamp from Memory Box (Snowy Branches), stamped with Early Espresso and clear embossed.   Sponged with SU Baja Breeze after tearing a post it note in half.  Sponged top first, masking the bottom, then masked the top and super lightly sponged the  bottom.  Because the snow was brown dots when stamped, dotted the snow with white Enamel Accents, white gel pen didn't work.  Used a white gel pen to put some snow on the branches.  The sentiment is SU.
For the Give-away...I have an extra one of these Memory Box stamps and would LOVE to give it away!!  Leave a comment and I'll randomly choose a winner next Wednesday at 10:30pm...one week from now....anyone from anywhere!!
Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Border Die Cards

Yesterday on Splitcoaststampers, I  made a card for the CAS challenge...to use the colors, turquoise, coral and yellow but had an extra daisy border and made yet another card in tangerine, light orange and black, the sentiment is Recollections(Michael's)...
Here's the card from yesterday's challenge...
I used Glossy Accents on the sentiment( cuttlebug With Gratitude).  The border is from Memory Box(Bubble Daisy Border).
Here are a few pics to give you an idea of an easy way I found to layer the colors...
Die cut one of each color you choose to use. Then I dotted the backs of the flowers with a TINY dot of glossy accents...
...and adhered them to the white die cut border(that's my base and base color).  This is the front showing the orange...
this is the back showing the white...
I pressed on the flowers and let them dry for a few minutes.  I then took my exacto knife and carefully removed the orange border and the orange flowers remain!
You do this for each color and then adhere the finished border to the card...once you get the hang of it...super easy and pretty fast!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

A Little Bit of a Redo Christmas Card

Just wanted to show you how changing up just a couple things can make last year's Christmas card look a bit different!
Here's a Christmas card I made last year(you can find the original post HERE)...
Made with a Memory Box die(Twig and Berries) and a Hero Arts sentiment.  I loved the simplicity of this card, and decided to make it again, but with a few changes...
I used the same die, with one less leaf but almost double the berries. I also dotted the berries with glossy accents to give them a berry kind of shine as well as a different sentiment made by Hero Arts.  It still has the clean and simple look, but LOVE it with more  berries and the gloss!  Just had to let you know!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Pastels at Christmas

Let me state right from the start that I am REALLY NOT a pastel person.  Pastels are pretty, but I prefer and really LOVE bold and bright colors, so these two cards are a real departure from my "norm".
I have had this Darcie's Merry Moment Snowmen stamp set for a couple years...I also LOVE snowmen... I stamped on white and pastels, deciding to paper piece the snowman's clothes in pastels....
I used  a white gel pen for all the stripes and enamel accents for the snow and at the ends of the scarves.
The other card was inspired by a sweater I saw at Target while shopping with my daughter the other day.  The sweater was gray and mint green!!  I had never seen those two colors together, but LOVED the look of mint and gray!!!!  So...with a Mc Gill starburst punch, some glossy accents and a sentiment from the first stamp set, I made this....
Hope you are having a great weekend!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Closing the Zig Zag

Major cleaning in my craft space for the last couple days and found a die from My Favorite Things that was not in it's packaging, but I don't recall ever using...so a simple card from my Open Zig Zag Border die and some added layering for some interest...

The hardest thing...making the little orange squares...they figured 1/8" short of a 1/2"...if that makes sense...trying to get Noah to the Zoo today...gotta run!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

FTL 209...The 3 Minute Card!!

OK...a second card today!!  The sketch for Clean and Simple this week is AMAZING....especially for Washi Tape!!!!  I know that washi tape is all the craze, but don't feel too bad that I only own two rolls that I purchased in a pack a month ago.  This is the first time that I actually had the courage to use them and thought this challenge totally fit !!  And my card took about 3 minutes to make from start to finish...now THAT'S totally cool!!  Here's my card and the sketch...

The washi tape is We-R-Memory Keepers and the sentiment is Hero Arts...FUN!!!!!   Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Thinking of You

Life has been hectic lately, but this morning, I decided to sit, chill and create!!  I get weekly emails from Splitcoaststampers with the weekly sketch challenges and this week was perfect for a framed row of  flowers that I had sitting on my desk for the last couple weeks....here's my card and the sketch...

OK...I took a little liberty with panels 2 and 3, but I just HAD to:):)!!  Used Papertrey Ink Tag Its #2 and #3 and their striped impression plate.  Popped the frame and then the black panels.  Used a Recollection (Michael's brand) sentiment....also used a larger spellbinders circle die to cut the black panel for the framed flowers.  Thanks for visiting me today!!
