Yesterday on Splitcoaststampers, I made a card for the CAS challenge...to use the colors, turquoise, coral and yellow but had an extra daisy border and made yet another card in tangerine, light orange and black, the sentiment is Recollections(Michael's)...
this is the back showing the white...
I pressed on the flowers and let them dry for a few minutes. I then took my exacto knife and carefully removed the orange border and the orange flowers remain!
You do this for each color and then adhere the finished border to the card...once you get the hang of it...super easy and pretty fast! Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
Here's the card from yesterday's challenge...
I used Glossy Accents on the sentiment( cuttlebug With Gratitude). The border is from Memory Box(Bubble Daisy Border).
Here are a few pics to give you an idea of an easy way I found to layer the colors...
Die cut one of each color you choose to use. Then I dotted the backs of the flowers with a TINY dot of glossy accents...
...and adhered them to the white die cut border(that's my base and base color). This is the front showing the orange...this is the back showing the white...

Wow, wow, wow. These cards are breath taking!
ReplyDeleteSuch gorgeous fun cards, love them. Sal. x
ReplyDeleteThis is beyond cool...love the tutorial too! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThat is a TON of work, (although your tutorial shows that you didn't glue each one on, one by one, which is what I would have done, lol!)But these are both gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous and well worth it!
ReplyDeleteTwo stunning cards, what a great border die!
ReplyDeleteDang, Lisa, you've certainly sold that die!! Your cards are brilliant and thank you so much for taking the time to show us that marvelous design trick!!
ReplyDeleteWow - I hadn't even looked twice at that die but I LOVE what you have done with it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous idea and the outcome is stunning! Great cards and tutorial :)

These look fantastic! What a cool way to use those borders. And thanks for the tip on assembling it. I'd have been sitting there with tweezers trying to attach each individual petal! LOL! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely super cute! BUT I have a question... how the heck do you get the cardstock to come out in one piece like that? I've tried but all those petals and bubbles come out of the die!
ReplyDeleteHey Tania! I have found that if the paper is too thick or the pressure too great, the dies will cut to a place of displacing the inside pieces. When I made these, the borders were totally "stuck" to the die...but I very carefully and gently began to remove at one end...in the middle...wherever there is a loose end and the whole border followed...all the pieces remained intact! Maybe less pressure or thinner cardstock?...hope this helps:)!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your response Lisa! I am probably using cardstock that is too thick! The pieces are completely stuck and it's impossible to remove everything and keep it all intact! I'll try something thinner!
ReplyDeleteFantastic card! I love the use of Glossy Accents on the sentiment.
ReplyDeleteI like the CAS design; it's very effective.
