Peace on Earth...a Redo and a Give-away!

On the Kick Start class I took recently, one of the things that was mentioned was to take old cards and redo.  I had made this card two years ago when I didn't have a blog yet, my only source of showing my work was Splitcoaststampers...you can find my original(scary how I photographed then...not sure why it's sooooo bad, I had the same camera.  I think I've learned just a little about picture taking since then:):):)!!!)  HERE...I did away with the framing, changed the sentiment, made the snowflakes smaller and colored the scene just a tad differently...maybe not a real redo...but a redo for me...
Made with a stamp from Memory Box (Snowy Branches), stamped with Early Espresso and clear embossed.   Sponged with SU Baja Breeze after tearing a post it note in half.  Sponged top first, masking the bottom, then masked the top and super lightly sponged the  bottom.  Because the snow was brown dots when stamped, dotted the snow with white Enamel Accents, white gel pen didn't work.  Used a white gel pen to put some snow on the branches.  The sentiment is SU.
For the Give-away...I have an extra one of these Memory Box stamps and would LOVE to give it away!!  Leave a comment and I'll randomly choose a winner next Wednesday at 10:30pm...one week from now....anyone from anywhere!!
Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Love the redo!

Oh oh that is SUCH a cool way to use the dot template! WOuld have never thought of that. I like the graduation hue - just learned last weekend how to do it several ways than how I was doing it - a lot less damaging to the paper!

Gorgeous cards! Great job on both of them. Amazing what changing the angle will do for photographing cards. Wonder why most of us seem to start with the head on shot?

I never would have thought to use a aqua color for the sky..but it looks amazing! It reminds me of a nice, warm winter day! Love the snow too.

I like the redo better, it's just a bit more elegant somehow, but great colour combo on both and a lovely stamp.

Beautiful card, Lisa! Your first card is gorgeous, too. I think it's just all about coming into our own style and back then you were still "experimenting". Love your work!

Beautiful card(s)! Since I love trees I, of course, love this stamp! It made me check out Memory box stamps since I was only familiar with their dies. Now I also love their images!

I do like the redo better, but I look back at some of my originals and realize I've learned a lot since the beginning. Great sponging effect.

Love this! The original was very nice as well, but I do think your subtle changes kicked it up a notch. It's getting pinned on one of my Pinterest boards so I can CASE in the future. Great job!

I ADORE this card, Lisa! Such a simple design, but with your color shading and the texture you added it makes a huge impact! I may CASE this for some of my Christmas cards!

I don't see anything wrong with the old card - both are stunning - love the colors you used - I know I will have to CASE these.

A truly magnificent, gentle, soft, calm, peaceful, wonderful card and (for me) captures the essence of Christmas (I'm not sure if I mean 'essence' but you'll get my drift!) The redo is my favourite. TFC to win the lovely stamp.

I think the thinner frame on the new card really does a lot for lightening the overall look of the card. Thanks for the tip about enamel accents. I'll need to try that!

Really stunning! Would this work for a mass produce, do you think?

So beautiful. I love when someone can create beauty so simply; without using a half dozen layers or accessories. You clearly have an artist's eye.

Love this card. Simple and Beautiful. Thanks for a chance to win.

This is beautiful. I have a similar Memory Box stamp, but no snow. I wonder if some dry embossing could work for the snow.

This card is not only beautiful but one of the best physical examples of "Peace on Earth." If anyone has ever stood outside and quietly observed the peace and tranquility of snow falling on a crisp night to an already blanketed earth; then they know the true beauty of your card. Truly a picture worth a thousand words <3
