Old Made New #2...Hearts and Flowers

Today, I made a couple cards using an old die...Bubble Daisy Border from Memory Box.  I made a couple cards using it HERE back in 2012.  I used another Papertrey Ink Sketch Recipe...loved how their border was on a slant on the bottom section of the card! BUT...as much as I looked and looked for this die, it was no where to be found (EDITED***  MERRY FOUND THE DIE!!  Thank you SO much, MERRY!!!  I was looking under Memory Box...cause that's what it was when I purchased it...found it at Frantic Stamper under the company's new name...POPPY Stamps, have linked it below in case you "have to have it:)"!)...so I am starting with a more current version using the "lovely" and very cool Simon's Heart Parade die, to show you that even if you don't have the Bubble Daisy die, you can use other border dies to accomplish the same look:)!!  Here's the "current" card, the sketch, and the 2 cards I made using the Bubble Daisy die...
I used some...yes...paint chips for the colors...I layered the frame of the hearts 3 times.

This is the one made using the Bubble Daisy Border...I LOVED the flow of this die for this sketch...

Yes...more paint chips...in PURPLE...the green is card stock.  The sentiment is Papertrey Ink.    Then...simplicity...black and white...
I layered the white panel...here's a close up of the space between the panel and card...
I'm going to keep using my old stuff...you too:)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Stars and Stripes...Celebrate

I just HAD to make another card with the Frantic Stamper Stars and Stripes Photo Card die, simple and this time sideways using the sentiment and a star die from  the set...
Instead of "love" colors, I used some bright "happy" colors (paint chips), die cutting the sentiment that came with the set for the front(LOVE THIS FONT!!)...
These dies are so much fun!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Four Hearts...Love

When creativity is nowhere to be found, I love going to a sketch I haven't done (or one I HAVE done and really like:)!).  I stored a bunch of the Papertrey Sketch recipes in my computer, and made a card from one!  Here's my card and the sketch...

Super simple, but LOVE the simplicity of it all:)!!  Layered the die cut hearts by Lawn Fawn(die cut from...yes...paint chips!), and used a die cut stitched strip for the dividing lines.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp:)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Love and Hugs... Framed

I recently purchased the Stars and Stripes Photo Card die from Frantic Stamper...what a cool die!!  I made this card much like I made my Floral Flaps card  the other day...
Have I mentioned lately...I LOVE PAINT CHIPS!!  Well, I DO!!  What I especially love especially for a die like this, is to have paint chips with 4 colors...they are perfect shades of one another, and despite my epic fail at attempting to pair 4 pieces of card stock together for this card...I thought of the paint chips in my box, and VOILA...4 colors that go PERFECTLY together!!!  OK...FUN, FUN, FUN!!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Recycled Valentine

Back in January of last year, the theme for the month as a Splitcoaststampers Dirty Dozen design team member was to make your projects cheaply.  One way to do this was to reuse, recycle, repurpose materials you found around the house.  I used a Pottery Barn catalog and the picture of some curtains to make a Valentine's Day card...thought this the perfect time to share with you all...
Die cut the hearts and the hearts from the panel.  Popped the panel and hearts off the card after adding the sideways sentiment. It was so cool...the paper being from a catalog, was shiny!  Here's a close up...
It was a LOT of fun finding things to use for making my cards inexpensively ...especially love the recycling thing....I STILL look at items around the house and their "possibilities"!!
Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Old Made New #1...Celebrate

One thing I would LOVE to do this year is to use an old stamp/stamp set or a die/dies from my vast collection and CREATE with them again...often times old things in MY collection get forgotten and I am feeling very bad about that!!  Over the years I have seen other cardmakers do this, but in these beginning days of January, I have done that...not thinking any further than the day that I was creating. I DID think, today, that I have thoroughly enjoyed playing with my old "stuff", and would like to make it a regular occurrence on my blog.  I'm not quite sure what's going to constitute old, but I've got a lot of really old stamps, so no prob there:)!!   I am going to try to create a new card and post every so often using old dstamps and dies...starting today:)!!...
I last used this Hampton Arts stamp back in 2012...HERE.  And although the first and last ones are similar to that one in layout, I used paint chips on the one above, rather than stamping on card stock, and colored the last one.
I LOVE rainbows, but decided on this second one, to use one set of paint chips with five different shades of blue and then frame (I am LOVING FRAMES:)!!) the candles and sentiment.  I stamped both cards with black ink and clear embossed, then cut out.  Here's a close up...

The third one I chose to stamp on kraft paper, using versamark and white embossing powder...I wanted to try having candles with a white outline.  I used my Prismacolor pencils to color the candles and flames.  I used glossy accents on all three cards on the middles of the flames.
The stamp may be old, but still just as much fun as ever:)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Sending Love and Hugs...Heart Flower

I know I've seen flowers made of hearts around from time to time...I just had to make one...
Made a flower, layered a die cut sentiment, stamped on vellum, and die cut a stem and leaves.  Popped up the polka dotted panel on gray card...Fun!!  Thanks for visiting me today, hope you have a great day!! Hugs!! Lisa
