Sending Big Hugs

I had the Simon Says Stamp Big Scripty Greetings stamp set on my desk yesterday, and was determined to use at least one of the sentiments before I put them away!!  I loved the "Sending big hugs" stamp, so I decided to literally build a card around that sentiment...
I had two thoughts.  First thought...what is the color of hugs??  I googled and the first thing that came up was a Benjamin Moore paint, Hugs and Kisses...

It showed that kraft and white coordinated with it...so...color of card established.

Second...what do hugs look like??  Well, hugs and kisses are O's and X's...hugs being the O's, so I decided to have some circles on my "Hugs" card, thus the Simon Says Stamp Dots Circles dies.  I die cut the large and medium dies 3 times each, and adhered three layers of all the circles...super easy and fast:):)!!  I then used the frames of those circles for placement of all the circles around the sentiment... circles in circles..o's and BIGGER O's in big O circles:):)!!  OK...I get it...hope whoever gets this card gets it too:)...SUCH FUN!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! A Sketch For You To Try #27...and a Giveaway!!

I just can't get enough of the Weather It Together stamp set by Reverse Confetti...I Love it!!  I have used it for the latest Sketch For You To Try (SFYTT) at the Reverse Confetti Blog!  Here's my card and the sketch...

I stamped, embossed and cut out the umbrella top, then colored with markers.  I then stamped the umbrella again on the dotted paper with versa mark and silver embossed.  I filled the handle in with a silver pen and used the black embossed bottom of the handle colored in with black, clear embossed, and cut out for the bottom of the handle...
I then used the little heart stamps from the set and again, with versamark, stamped and clear embossed the little hearts all over the card panel.  Instead of two separate panels, as in the sketch, I simply used some bamboo twine to make my separate panels:)!!.. The hearts are hard to see, but here's a couple close ups...just loved a little added interest on the card...

FUN!!  You have a few more days to be a part of the challenge, make sure to check out the details over at the Reverse Confetti Blog, and hope you'll be a part, cause there's a PRIZE for the winner of the challenge!!
And last but definitely not least...I have so happily been given a Weather It Together stamp set to GIVE AWAY to one of my readers!!!  Simply leave a comment below, and I will randomly choose a winner on August 31st...now THAT'S REALLY FUN!!

Hearts and Rainbows

I LOVE hearts...and rainbows...so today, I've made two cards with both, using some new Reverse Confetti products...
I used part of the new Reverse Confetti Globe Confetti Cuts die for both of my cards...using the border of the globe for the first card, and the middle (the heart) for the second card.  The sentiments are from the new Reverse Confetti stamp set, Posted Note Sentiments...LOVE these new products!!  I embossed the hearts onto the front of the card with the Reverse Confetti Love Note Confetti Cuts dies, an older set of dies, the silver string is elastic that decorated a box of chocolates (love it when you can recycle:)!!)...here's a close up...
The second card, I layered the white hearts underneath three rainbow colored heart dies.  Each of the colors of the rainbow are 1/2", adhered onto a piece of paper, then die cut.

Woodgrain and Leaves Hello...It's in the Details

I made a Fall card using the new Simon Says Stamp One With Nature stamp set and a new "Hello" sentiment...
I used a couple of the Stitched Slopes and Hills die to cut my woodgrain card panel.  I stamped the leaf on the vellum with versa mark, then white embossed.  I turned the vellum over and colored the leaves with markers.  I used the same woodgrain paper to die cut the "hello" die.  I  swiped the paper with Tim Holtz Scattered Twigs ink and layered the sentiment 3 times.  I popped up the upper and lower panels over the leaves.  Only thing was...I WASN'T HAPPY with how it looked...Here's the pic I FIRST took of the card...
The Simon Woodgrain paper is REALLY WHITE...which is wonderful, except when you've got white embossed leaves.  Wow white embossing powder is the whitest white embossing powder I have ever used, but next to this woodgrain paper, it looks "creamy".  SOOOOO...I used my Frost White Color Box ink, and swiped it over the two panels(covering the leaves, so they didn't get inky!!), and just in case you couldn't tell the difference from my first two picks, here's a close up of the original paper, with the swiped card next to it...
OK this card is the perfect example how in card making, it IS all about the details...I just think the card looks so much more cohesive with the swiped panels...the stark white just left me feeling like
all the pieces of the card didn't quite go together...it didn't look right to me!  Here's a close up of the leaves...notice how the whites blend...
SUCH FUN!!  We have had SUCH a dry summer, that our trees are already losing their leaves...Happy Fall, early:)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Using Up Some Gems

I wanted to show you what I did with som sheets of gems I got a while ago at AC Moore.  I got them for an "idea" I had, but never used them...playing with them the other day, I came a couple steps closer to using them up...and I thought that encouragement alone, worthy of sharing with you!!  Here's what I came up with...
I used two tear drop gems put together for each heart...the sentiment is a Simon Says Stamp sentiment from the Mother's Day stamp set.  I used a die from the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Slopes and Hills set, to emboss a stitched pattern onto the card panel on which to place my gem hearts and to curve my sentiment around.  I put a dot of black enamel accents in between the sentiments.  Here's a close up...
I then used some of my little flower gems to make a heart shaped birthday card...
I dotted the middles of each flower with enamel accents to give the flowers a little definition...
Just in case you're interested, this is what my sheets look like...
A great start to using them up, I'd say!!  Hope you have a great weekend:)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Happy For You

I have made another card using one of the Simon Says Stamp Wavy Scalloped Stitches dies and some patterned papers...
I die cut from 8 different colors of patterned papers, cutting the scalloped as well as the negative side of the die for the strips, so they would fit together.  I DID have to use my MISTI for the wonderful Simon Says Stamp sentiment, and glad I did, as stamping on papers that have been adhered together, can make for some inconsistent stamping, and with the MISTI, you can stamp over, and over, and over again, until all the cracks and crevices are covered with ink, and the sentiment is "whole", and it stamps perfect with great ease!!  LOVE that tool!!  Here's a close up...
