Ornate Thanks

One more card for today....a thank you card using the really pretty new Ornate Alphabet letter stamps from Simon Says Stamp's latest release, Rest and Refresh...
I stamped the letters with black ink, clear embossed and colored each letter with 2 shades of it's color with markers, to make a rainbow thanks!  I hand cut them out, popped them up on a panel that I had stamped the bottom portion of a sentiment from the new Home Sweet Home stamp set.  I used my MISTI and masked the top portion of the stamp before stamping.  Then, I cut that whole panel and popped it up on a card.  Here's a close up...
Oh how I LOVE rainbows, such great fun!!  And, it's easy with pretty fun letters like these to work with!!
Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Red and Black

I feel like I have been away forever...I have a couple simple cards I made as I got back to creating, that use black and a contrasting red, or red with a contrasting black as their main colors...I love just a POP of color, either way, for dynamic contrast...
The first one uses stamps from Simon Says Stamp's latest release, Rest and Refresh, Home Sweet Home.  I used my MISTI to stamp the house/sentiment image, wanting to make sure the house was fully filled in with black ink.  I then clear embossed the house and colored only the heart and it's leaves.  I added a couple more sentiments from the same set and clear embossed those, as well.  Here's a close up...

The second one, I used a couple of the sentiment stamps from the new set, Summer Time...when I read the sentiments, I just couldn't resist using them in a subtle and simple way(see if you get it...I HOPE you get it:):)!!)...
I stamped the Simon Gingham background stamp at an angle.  That is why the gingham stamped panel is smaller than usual.  The gingham pattern, if used as is, goes straight across the card.  I wanted a diagonally striped piece of paper, so I had to cut the panel down a bit, until it fit onto the background stamp.  I die cut a heart out of the stamped panel, and popped up over the stamped sentiments.    Here's a close up...
Oh, it's so great to be back...here's hoping to lots of fun and time to create in July!!

Happy Birthday with Stenciled Confetti

I used the fun Simon Says Stamp Stencil Confetti and Big Birthday Greetings die, to make a birthday card...
I used the stencil on black cardstock with white embossing paste.  When it had dried, I used Distress Oxide inks to cover all the confetti, placing the stencil over the confetti.  THEN...I used my Wink of Stella marker, and gave all the confetti some glitter...FUN!!!  I die cut, layered, and glossy accented the "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" sentiment , and adhered the letters somewhat randomly over the confetti. I popped the whole thing up on a white card.  Here's a close up...
A happy birthday that makes me happy...such fun!!

It's Your Day!

I made a card with a couple cute and fun dies from Simon Says Stamp, Peeking Daisy and It's Your Day, to make a card to perhaps celebrate someone's birthday...or even celebrate something else!!...
I thought the white on simply striped red was simply sweet, so I layered both the daisy and the senitment and adhered them to the striped panel  I used the outline die cut of the "It's Your Day" die for placement of the layered letters.  I then popped up the red card panel on a white card.  Here's a close up...
Simply done FUN!!

Words of Hope

I am away from my craft room until next week, but had made a few cards to share with you, over the next few days, until I can get back to creating more! Today's card was made with the pretty Simon Says Stamp Words of Hope die set...
When I think of hope, I think of rainbows, so I chose to adhere a rainbow of colored papers together and die cut the sentiments from the rainbow.  I layered each word, and then added a stamped sentiment below each of the layered die cuts.  I added some Tonic drops for some added interest.  Here's a close up...
Keep on believing...never give up hope!!

Simon Says Stamp Rest and Relaxation Blog Hop!

I am super thrilled to be a part of today's Simon Says Stamp Blog Hop celebrating Simon Say's Stamp's newest release, Rest and Relax!  I am loving all the summer elements in this latest release, in the dies, stencils and stamping supplies, that will be sure to get the summer started in a fun way!!
If you are following the hop, you should have arrived here from the creative
 Suzy Plantamura's blog!
I have decided to use the cool and super fun new Hexagon Element die to make three cards to share with you today!...
This first one, I used patterned and textured cardstock to fill in the layered hexagons!  I thought the black, gray and kraft combo was cool, and hexagons are cool, so I varied the designs around the die.  I also used the very cool Thanks frame die for my sentiment!  Here's a close up...

The second one, much like the first, a layered die, I filled with watercolored hexagons...
I brushed a rainbow of ink over watercolor paper that I had embossed the hexagon image on.  This made it really easy to know where to brush each of the colors.  Then, I actually die cut the die from the embossed image, and voila, I have ready made watercolored hexagons!  I then added some Tonic Jewel drops to random hexagons.  I used the same "thanks" die, this time is white...thought it looked cool!  Here's a close up...

The third one was actually the very first one I made, I thought simply embossing the Hexagon filled image was cool....
For this one, I embossed the die onto a card panel, using an extra piece of paper on top of the die, to give it a little extra depth when it went through my Big Shot...I have to say I just love the look of this die, and love it embossed!!  I then took the same "thanks as on the other two cards, and die cut it from a rainbow of colored papers that I had adhered together.  I added some Tonic drops on the top and bottom for added interest, and an added sentiment from the Big Thanks Words!  Here's a close up...
My fun is above, yours is below!!

Anchors Away!

There is a wonderful new release over at Simon Says Stamp, today...Rest and Refresh!  This is definitely a refreshing group of stamps, dies, stencils and supplies, the perfect group of stamps and dies to get your summer started!!   And going into the summer, rest and refresh are what I hope you'll be making time to do for you!!  I've made two cards using the two new anchor dies, Anchor and Anchor Tag, to begin the new fun...
I thought these anchor dies were so cool!!  The size of these anchors was something that I really loved...they make a statement on a card!  The first one, I layered the anchor a number of times(I think four) and used some heavy twine that looked like it might belong to an anchor, and then went about making a backdrop for it.  I sponged three colors of distress oxide inks on watercolor paper.  I let it dry, then stamped the cool new Waves background stamp onto the colored paper.  I white embossed, and stamped the two sentiments in between the waves, embossing with silver.  I added some clear Tonic drops for a "watery" feel.  Here's a close up...

The second one, I used the Anchor Tag die and made a thank you card...
I wanted to have stripes on my tag, so I googled nautical stripes.  I found some stripes that I loved with navy, aqua, red and gray, so I used those four colors, cutting strips of the colors in different widths,  along with small white stripe in between each color.  I adhered them to a thin piece of card stock, and then die cut the anchor tag from the striped paper.  I added an embossed anchor behind a layered tag, and added the same twine as the first.  I used another one of the cool new background stamps, Round and Round, stamped in light gray, and added a die cut "thanks" in navy, using foam under each letter to give them depth.  Here's a close up...
Anchors away...such fun!!  Hope you will check out the new release at Simon, see you tomorrow for a blog hop full of wonderful inspiration!!

Bright Hearts

I used the pretty and fun Memory Box die, Bright Hearts, and a rainbow of colored cardstock to make a "wonderful" card...
I used one of the die cuts as a template to see exactly how large a triangle to cut to fit behind each row of hearts.  Then, I adhered all the colors in a rainbow wheel (you'll notice the lighter purple has a stamped music score on one side...these were all scraps...yay!!).
I layered another layer on top of the layer with colored papers, then adhered both layers to the top panel, stamped with a very cool sentiment from Poppy Stamps.  Here's a close up...
OH...I LOVE this die!!!  Such WONDERFUL fun!!
