Wish Big Redo and a Yay!

Did you ever post a card and then later think, "Gee, I wish I hadn't done it the way I had ....I wish I hadn't posted that card!"?  I did that a few weeks back and then reposted it with the redo.  Well...the birthday card I posted yesterday looked great to me, but as I looked at it last night...wished I would have done it differently...so I did...here's my second version...I think I like it better...and it's WAY simpler and EASIER!!...
I used only 3 candles( Hero Arts Orange Soday, Stampin Up Lucky Limeade and Tempting Turquoise) and instead of using versa mark for the stripes with the Mama Elephant border, I stamped OVER the stamped candles with Color Box Frost White inked onto the diagonal striped border stamp....super simple and I think shows a bit better.  I also used the smallest yellow rhinestones on the candles rather than the middle sized ones....like them better, TOO!!  The pics of both these cards were taken at the same time...yet the first card shows a bit darker??  Go figure!
I also used another Papertrey ink Birthday sentiment from the Stylish Sentiments: Birthday's set and the Sketched Shapes to make this...
I don't know...just liked the triangles...was thinking about a flower, but looked like a pinwheel....so went with it and made the triangles into one...die cut triangles, stamped triangles and popped up panel...added a cut piece of black paper for the pinwheel stick and stick on dot for the center...this set is proving to be a LOT of FUN!!  Hoping I'll like this card tomorrow...or you might see another redo...LOL!!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Wish Big

A really quick post this morning...15 young people coming for lunch in a couple hours and much to do:)!!  Made this card with a couple Papertrey Ink sets Stylish Sentiments: Birthdays and Birthday Style...
I had made these candles a week ago, and last night, finally found a way to use them.  The candles  were block color stamps, but I decided to give them stripes...and here's how I did it...
I versamarked the diagonal stamp from Mama Elephant's Basic Borders...
Then I stamped the candle with the color...this one orange...
THEN... I took the stamped candle and pressed it (gently and keeping it from moving) onto the versa marked diagonal stamp...
And what happens is that the diagonal stamp pulls color from the orange stamped candle where the diagonals are....Please excuse the crooked stamping...it was late last night...and if I have ANY problems...it's getting the stamp perfectly positioned on the die cut...candle, flower, whatever....but just wanted you to get the idea.  Sometimes it's a deeper etched removal than others...go figure...
I stamped the candles with the sentiment and then stamped it on the panel, and put the candles on top.  It was soooooo hard to photograph...looks straight until you shoot a pic!  Added yellow rhinestones...thought they were perfect where the empty circles were.  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
Will try to get an Inlinkz done tomorrow:)!!

You Totally Rock

Made this card with the Grid Die from Simon Says Stamp and a sentiment also from Simon Says Stamp...the set called For the Record...
I used the same technique to die cut this panel that I used on THIS post's second card.  I used the Grid die 3 times on this card.  Put red paper behind the black panel, and used versamark and white embossing powder for the sentiment.  The stars were cut using a silver paper.    Funny...when I googled rock and roll colors, sites kept coming back to red and black...kinda think the colors DO fit "You totally rock"!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Less is More 116...Mother's Day

I made this card for the Less is More challenge 116...only mine was a slightly different take on the very cool technique by the amazing JJ Bolton, used on Chrissie's card.  We were to case her's or Jen's card.   I used multiple images (flowers) rather than one image.  I thought of all kinds of letter combinations for a needed card for my mom for Mother's Day, but in the end...just decided on simply "MOM"...
And yes...Flower Friend came out of it's envelope again...wanted yellow "daisies" for my mom, and these flowers were perfect!  I cased the technique, and although I know the card is filled with flowers and not much white space,  I apologize, Chrissie and Jen,  it is simply done?!  Here's a close up of the letters...
super fun...had done this technique a while ago...thanks for the chance to give it another go:)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
EDIT....HEY....I just went to Less is More and Pat had a great idea to die cut the letters from the original  stamped panel and then use those letters to make the words on the card.  I will go a step further...and put Scor It tape behind those cut out letters...making it a bit sturdier in the back....THEN put the layered letters on top of that. I popped my panel up with foam dots...you could easily put foam on the scor tape behind those die cut letters.  Just a thought....and a GREAT ONE!!  While I was making my card, I thought  of that...just didn't think how to do it until I read Pat's post....thanks so much, Pat!!

CAS(E) this Sketch #24

I kept seeing candles and butterflies when I was thinking what to make with this week's CAS(E) this Sketch...but just got my Papertrey Ink order in the mail yesterday and found(what I thought) to be the perfect image to start the sketch(loving those arrows:)!!) and another Papertrey Ink set for the sentiment.  Here's the sketch and my card(the second card....well...I couldn't resist the butterfly!!)
I stamped the arrow border with Hero Arts inks and used a Simon Says Stamp star die for the stars.  I cut apart the sentiment and put it on two lines, tucked in the "star"...it would have been WAY too long, otherwise...
The black paper that I used for the stars was the new shimmer paper from Papertrey Ink.  Here's a close up...
And then a butterfly with burlap (from Michael's).  I stamped, clear embossed, colored with Memento pink, stampin up pretty in pink and a brown Mark It marker for the butterfly.  Dotted the bottom of the exclamation point with a light pink rhinestone.  The butterfly is from Lawn Fawn, the sentiment from Hero Arts...love the simplicity!!...
Here's a close up...
