I did a day trip on Friday, and flew to Buffalo, NY(about 700 miles from Virginia), to visit my dad for his 85th birthday!! I flew out at 7am and returned at 9pm...just enough time to go to lunch with him, my mom, 2 of my sisters, and my daughter, Hannah and her husband Nic and hang out a while with them all before going home to my family tending to Noah in my absence. I made this card for his birthday...
I finally got to use some of my number dies...three sets to be exact, along with a sentiment die from Papertrey Ink. I chose a rainbow of colors mixed with thin strips of black...thought it looked cool...so did my dad!! He said the different colored stripes represented the different seasons and times of his life...oh, my dad thinks like me...or is it I think like him?! I die cut the panel underneath the "85" with 2 different sets and sizes of numbers. The "Happy" was swiped on a versa mark pad and clear embossed(you COULD use glossy accents, but versamarking/clear embossing dries faster...and gives the same effect! Here's a close up....

Here's a pic of my family at our favorite doughnut shop (Paula's Rocks!!)...dessert after lunch...it's become tradition...we laughed so hard...had so much fun...notice my doughnut on the bottom left with my large coffee waiting to be devoured...along with the box of doughnuts I took home to Virginia...shared the love:)!!
