I am thrilled to be joining a number of talented artists and card makers today on the Simon Says Stamp Blog, to celebrate Simon Says Stamp's newest release Sunny Days Ahead! It is a release reminding us that there are Sunny days ahead, and celebrating those we love in our lives in the days to come, is sunshine!! The cards that I have made for today celebrate Mothers...
I have used the beautiful new Stylized Tulips die for both my cards today. This die is so lovely...intricate in it's design, looks like a painting! For the first card, I die cut and layered the die. I used watercolor paper, and embossed it with the die, to give an imprint on the watercolor paper. I then used my watercolor paints, and painted the paper. I adhered the layered die over the embossed and painted paper, and added Tonic Jewel drops and one of the new Reverse Mom Days sentiment strips, adhered across the tulip's base. Here's a close up...
The second one, I used my much loved paint chips, as I wanted to give the tulip and leaves a "painted" look with paper, and the variety of colors in one paint chip allow for that...
I used three shades of purple for the flower, and two shades of green for the leaves. I adhered the paint chips to a bottom layer, and added another die cut layer over the chips. I die cut the frame from the Simon A2 Thin Frames dies. I used one of the pretty new sentiments from the Mom Word Mix 2 set of stamps, added tonic jewel drops, and popped the tulips and leaves off the card just a bit for added dimension. Here's a close up...
OK...my fun is above, your fun is below!
