Simon Says Stamp Encouraging Words Blog Hop

As the new school year is upon us, Simon Says Stamp's new release, Encouraging Words, is giving us an opportunity  to help encourage not only teachers and students,  but each other...with words!  I am joining some amazing artists to showcase the stamps, dies, and other new products from this sweet new release!  If you are following the hop, you should have come here from
Lynn Brandyberry's blog!
A list of all the participants is at the end of my post.

One of the dies from the new release, Kindness Matters, is one die with two simple, but powerfully encouraging words, and Simon has made these words-made-die in a wonderful, kind of whimsical way!!  I LOVE dies...and LOVE sentiments... so I made two cards to share with you, using this die.   The sentiments  are cut from the same paper, with two different layouts and looks.  I used strips of colored cardstock attached to copy paper, then die cut the "kindness matters" from the colored strips...

I die cut the words three times from white cardstock, layered, then adhered the colored die cut cardstock over the white layers.  I embossed the sentiment die onto a piece of white cardstock, then adhered the colored, layered letters onto the white embossed cardstock letters.  I stamped the card panel  with the Simon You Matter Background stamp in Simon Fog ink.  I thought this stamp went perfectly with this die!!  I didn't quite ink the whole stamp, for a faded stamped look around the corners.  I layered a couple layers  of the outline of the die UNDERNEATH the stamped panel for depth.  Here's a closeup of the letters...

The second card, I used a black stamped background to showcase simply the words without the frame...

I stamped the Simon Stepping Stones background stamp with versa mark and clear embossed.  I used one of the die cut "kindness matters" as a template for placement of the letters...only adhering one of each letter for positioning, at first, then adhering all the other layers after the first ones were positioned.  I finished by simply using a few enamel dots to accent the colored letters.  Here's a close up...
Oh what incredible fun!!  Make sure you check out all the inspiration from all the hop participants!!
Simon Says Stamp is generously giving a $25 coupon to one commenter at each stop on today's blog, WOW, so make sure you leave a comment for a chance to win!!!  The winners will be announced on the Simon Blog on Tuesday!
If you started at the beginning of the hop, I'm the last stop.  If you started somewhere in between, the next stop is back at the top of the hop lineup, at the Simon Blog .
