CAS(E) this Sketch 15

Nothing like under the wire...a quick entry into CAS(E) This Sketch #15...here's the sketch and my card...
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the simplicity of this sketch...and that was my take...simplicity!!
Used a set from Verve ...Making a Statement...with the coordinating dies.  Loved how the sentiment had the dotted lines...kind of fit the sketch:)!!  Used orange sharpie markers and green memento markers to color, layered and popped up the flower.  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Thanks so much for the sweet shout out from CAS(E) this Sketch for making my card a CAS(E) this Sketch FAVORITE this week:)!!...I am so honored...

Clean and Simple...No White

Oh how I love dies...can't help it...won't excuse it...I just love them!!  I got a set of dies by W Plus 9 Designs around Christmas and thanks to some reorganizing in my craft space...rediscovered them:)!!  I made a couple cards with one of the dies...and realized when I finished, that they had NO WHITE on them ANYWHERE...heavens to murgatroyd...
The dies are W Plus 9 Design Quilt Cuts 2 Dies, the sentiment on the first is Simon Says Stamp from Absolutely Delightful.  I used Tim Holtz distress paper for the pink and bazzill for the second.  The sentiment on the yellow is from Simon Says Stamp, too...aptly named YOU.
I layered the frame with a couple layers and put a piece of paper behind the frame and all the die cut pieces...slathered with adhesive...so the frame as well as it's pieces don't move or fall out.  The color possibilities are endless...fun, fun, fun!!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Rainbow Birds

When I was die cutting all the large flowers for my thank you cards  yesterday, I had some little spaces of white paper left over....never wanting to waste paper, I die cut the little birds from the same set (Hero Arts Bold Pop Design Set) from the leftover paper, and thought I would find something to make with them later.  Well, today is later...in my favorite color scheme...rainbow...made this with my birdies...
Used a sentiment and striped border from a Simon Says Stamp set(Absolutely Delightful) and dotted the bird's eyes with Enamel Accents.  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Flower Frenzy Thanks

Just a quick post...
Used a cool embossing folder I bought at AC Moores a couple months ago...thought it was so pretty and perfect with something very simple in front of it....like this Sizzix sentiment(Phrases, Thanks).  The folder is made by Darice and is called Flower Frenzy and is 5 x 7...so a wonderfully large folder to fit an entire A2 card if you like:)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Flowery Thank You Cards

Was in need of some thank you notes...pulled out a set that I thought would make for some fun flowers.   The flowers are Hero Arts Bold Pop Design Set...stamps with matching dies...and the sentiment is from Hero Arts as well, Thank You Messages.  I used some kraft paper, a spellbinders circle die and cut a circle just big enough for the flower...
I used a helpful hint from the Clean and Simple Card Making class, in getting the sentiment to fit the circle, by placing the circle die on my acrylic block and lining my sentiment AROUND the circle.  This, of course, will only work with clear stamps...but a very cool tip!!  I could have textured or stamped the panel....just opted to keep it plain...and simple:)!!
Made one in orange, too....(also made one in turquoise, but had no turquoise buttons...turquoise seems to be a color that escapes ribbons and buttons:(!!)
Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

More Plaid Stars

Had a few more plaid stars(you can die cut a bunch if you "plaid" a small card sized piece of paper:)!!)...combined with a Paper Smooches sentiment, layered on kraft textured paper with Papertrey Ink's Linen/Canvas impression plate...
Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Plaid Stars

I love the Online Card Classes...the one that ended this week focused on Clean and Simple card making and was phenomenal!!  I love getting to learn new techniques for making cards...it is fun, too, getting to hear and learn from some incredibly talented and fun ladies!!  I have admired Laura Bassen's work for a long time, but got to learn from her this time via video.  She taught about how she stamps plaid.  Laura's work is uber creative and beautiful and it was so wonderful to put an actual voice and personality to the artist who's work I so admire...she is down to earth, fun and funny!!   Well...I HAD to try my hand at making plaid...although she masked, I simply stamped on paper, then die cut some stars FROM my stamped paper.  It WAS a bit challenging...not difficult, but as Laura said, it takes practice to get the stamping perfect...but seeing the plaid when it is finished is sweet!!  So....I took my plaid stars (not perfect) and made two cards...
Used Papertrey Ink  Background Basics Super Stripes...really easy to stamp with!!   The large hearts are Papertrey Ink Seeing Stars die cuts, the smaller pink star is My Favorite Things.  The small ones on the top card are Simon Says Stamp Large Holiday Shapes dies, the small stars on the bottom are W Plus 9 star dies....I know...a lot of star dies....but I think you can never have enough stars or hearts!!    Both sentiments are Simon Says Stamp ...the top card from Talk Bubbles 2 and the bottom card from Banner Sayings.  I used my Papertrey Ink Woodgrain Impression plate on the bottom with Lifestyle Crafts banners and arrows for the sentiments.
Great fun...now I can say that I've acutally tried it...and liked it!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Just Breathe

Today I have some cards that are being featured on the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog...using one of the newly released CAS-ual Fridays Stamps sets: Breathe.  I will show you my favorite...
Michele's stamps so speak my heart!!  Some times, life is hard...those are the times we just need to keep breathing...that's sometimes all we can do, and I'm certain we all know someone that could be encouraged with these words.  But one thing I know is true...no matter what "stuff" you go through in life....it WILL be OK...those are some of my most believed and favorite words...I say this ALL THE TIME!!  I don't know how...I don't know when...but I DO know it will be ok!!  The words on this card are words that I live by!!!  LOVE this set...you can check out the blog for the other two cards that I made with this set and other AMAZING cards made by other members of the design team with this and other sets from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps...thanks for checking in with me!!  Hugs!! CAS-ual Fridays 90...Black, White and One Color

This week's challenge at CAS-ual Fridays is to make a clean and simple project using black, white and only one color...
The sponsor this week is none other than CAS-ual Fridays Stamps!!!
The winner of this week's challenge will win a $20 shopping spree for some cool stamps...and 3 new sets were just released last week!!  Here's my card using black, white and Baja Breeze..
I used a couple stamps from one of the new sets from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps,  Breathe, which has some beautiful sentiments with a couple cool elements.  I used one of the images, stamped once with the sentiment and again on the card panel. Used a rectangle Spellbinder die to cut the window of the panel.   I then used some ink from my Baja Breeze reinker with my water brush and splattered on the panel(yes, I think I'm conquering my splattering fear).  Layered and popped up on card.
Hope you will join us for the fun this week...black, white and one color challenges are always fun to me!!  You have until this Thursday at Noon...Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps February Release...Sneaks Day 1

I have made a couple cards using a stamp set from the latest release by CAS-ual Fridays Stamps called Beanstalks and will be available for purchase this Thursday!!  It has some wonderful leaves and beautiful sentiments!!  You can check out the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog to see not only cards made with THIS set, but, on Tuesday and Wednesday, cards made with the two other soon-to-be relesased sets!!
I used 4 shades of green and stamped the leaves in a gradient fashion(like Clean and Simple Card Classes 2:)).  Added sentiment with versa mark and white embossing powder.
The second one I used the flowering stamp and cut out around the leaves and dotted the buds with liquid pearls...colored the leaves with memento markers.  Added a piece of wash behind and popped up after stamping the sentiment.
Leave a comment on the CAS-ual Fridays blog post today and for the next two days and you will be entered in a drawing to win that day's stamp set!!!  How cool is that??!!    Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Clean and Simple Card Making 2 Card

I have finally gotten around to trying my hand at a techniques and design of the Clean and Simple 2 Card Making Classes!!
Yeah...here's what I made...
Made with a set from Verve called Brighter Days.  I stamped the flowers in Stampin Up Summer Sun and Pumpkin Pie and took my water blender pen and dragged the color of the stamped image to make the flowers all orange or yellow.  Added a sentiment from set and water colored some summer sun on
the "brighter"...die cut a circle and popped up the flowers on the card.  Thought to add some splatters,   but couldn't get it right...splattering seems to go against my nature:)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

CAS-ual Fridays 89...Love Song

It feels like forever since I last posted...it was a week ago!!  Sorry for the silence.  My computer crashed last Wednesday evening, and I opted to start over with a new computer.  I am thankful I had all my files and pics backed through a company....Got my new computer on Monday, and have spent the last few days not only learning a new operating system but ALSO figuring out how to get my mega folders onto this new computer ....whew.... hoping I am now back on track!!!  On to the challenge...yeah!!!
This week's challenge at CAS-ual Fridays the challenge is to make a clean and simple project that is song inspired in honor of the Grammys on February 10th....
This week's sponsor is CAS-ual Fridays Stamps!!...
The winner will receive a $20 gift certificate to shop for some really wonderful stamps!!!  Here's what I made...with a stamp that I thought was PERFECT for this week's challenge...
Some readers may be too young to have ever heard the love song that these words are from...Spiral Starecase...More Today Than Yesterday...made it to the top 12...you can click on the pic to watch and listen(remember...it WAS 1969)...
This song originated in 1969...but when my husband and I started dating in 1982, we would sing this to each other...it has been "our song" ever since...and the words are still as true now as they were then!!!  Who would have ever thought I would find the words to our song...a song from the 60's on a stamp????   Thanks, Julee Tilman!!  Every Valentine's Day I find another way to use this wonderful stamp from Verve: A Hundred Hearts set, to let David know what he means to me!  I used some heart dies from Simon Says Stamp: Holiday Shapes Hearts/Stars which I cut apart with utility scissors.  Die cut the largest one 4 times across the card and then filled the apertures with 4 smaller hearts in gradient colors....expressing my love that becomes stronger with the passing of time:)!!
Hope you will join us this week for one last adventure of love before Valentine's Day....thanks for checking in with me!!   Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

CAS-ual Fridays 88

This my 3rd and hopefully last attempt to make my post for CAS-ual Fridays challenge 88...to make love notes...using alpha letters, stickers, dies, stamps, etc
This week's sponsor is Ellen Hutson...
This week's winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to do some sweet online shopping:)!!

I realized that my take on this week's challenge was perhaps a bit "off"...I didn't use individual letters, but this was what I immediately thought of ...letters that form the word "love"...and a love letter...just not all separate....hmmm...ok??
Made my cards with a die from W Plus 9 Designs...Seasonal Sentiments Dies...the first the negative cuts with heart die from the set being the middles of the "o's".

 A close up of them...
And the die cut heart and word "you" I put on the inside of the card.  The heart and "you" are from Simon Says Stamp.
The second one I used the actual die cuts, made with a shiny, metallic, heart filled paper...cutting out the center of the "o's" with the heart
The third one I went all out glitter with a glitter "love and glittery heart paper.  The "you" is from Simon Says Stamp!
My computer crashed yesterday...so I am on a borrowed one  My apologies to those that left comments that got erased with the messed up and then deleted posts...I did appreciate your comments!!!  Thanks , too, for visiting me today...maybe even for the third time!! Hugs!! Lisa
