Thanks From the Heart

It's a couple days after Valentine's Day, and I still have a lot of hearts on my desk...thought I would make a thank you card!
I used two sets of Simon Says Stamp heart dies, from their Heart to Heart release.  I also used a couple sentiment stamps, from a CZ Design sentiment stamp set, and a Simon leaf die to adorn my die cut heart.  the heart was cut from my favorite patterned paper pack from Craft Consortium...it gives my paper a cool look without all the work of getting it to look that way(which I truthfully don't know how to do!!).  I love that there is gold sprinkled in the colors on the paper, and I thought gold accents in the leaves and gold embossed sentiments would go wonderfully with the gold.  I layered the heart , die cut gold and some vellum leaves, bent the gold leaves a bit with my fingers, and popped the whole panel up off the card.  Here's a close up...

I hope your week is starting out great...please take care!

Happy Valentine's Day Hearts

I  made two cards for Valentine's Day from a single set of Simon Says Stamp dies and sentiment stamps from their Heart to Heart release!...
I loved the thought of framed dies, and had an idea of how I wanted to showcase them.  I die cut the heart frame dies from red metallic cardstock.  I then die cut partial cuts from red cardstock, so that I would have a heart to adhere to the metallic heart and be able to hang from a silver cord.  I took a picture of one of the hearts before hanging and closing....
I used five different sized hearts from the set, and then hung and adhered them to the cord.  I used a sentiment (love the font of these sentiments), and popped up the panel on a longer than A2 but shorter than a slimline card.  I found a red slimline envelope in my stash that went perfectly with my card...even though my card is shorter than the envelope.  Here's a close up of the card...

The second card was made using the leftovers of the first card...
I used the same five dies, and die cut the hearts in random positions along the right side of a textured panel.  I added sentiment from another stamp set from the new release, and popped up the panel on the card.  I layered the hearts with the leftovers from the first card, as well, and adhered the layered hearts into the heart windows on the panel.  Here's a close up...
These were fun to make!  Hope you are doing well, and that you can find a moment or two to get creative, today...it's good for the heart!  Please take care!  Hugs!  Thanks so much for stopping by my blog, today!  Lisa

Warm Thoughts

I don't know about where you live, but here in Southeastern Virginia, it has been incredibly cold.  I made a card on one of those frigid days, and am sending warm thoughts, despite feeling very cold!!
I have used a pretty set of snowflake stamps and sentiment die, both from Simon Says Stamp, and their Heart to Heart Release!  I used a patterned piece of paper that had a "snow feel", and embossed them with white embossing powder, then some glitter powder(although the sparkle is hard to see on photos).  I die cut and layered the sentiment, then adhered all the pieces of the sentiment onto a piece of vellum.  I popped up the panel onto the card.  Here's a close up...
Hope you're staying warm and well, wherever you are, in our world.  Peace!

Warm Hugs

Well, we had a false alarm of a snow storm, last week, but have another one today and tomorrow...saying we will get 5-10" of snow.  We'll see about that, but the cold and wind have it feeling like it is 7ยบ outside.  I just went out to feed the birds, and it is bitter cold!!  I made this card with a Simon Says Stamp embossing folder from their new Heart to Heart release along with a sentiment die that went perfect withd what I'm feeling...sending warm hugs from Virginia!...
I embossed the cardstock and chose to color the flat side of the embossing, showing off the debossed white snowflakes.  I used two shades of blue ink, rubbing them over the debossed flakes.  I die cut the sentiment from silver cardstock, then layered it with several die cuts from white cardstock.  I popped the snowflake panel off the cardand adhered the sentiment.  Here's a close up...
Hope that if you are in line with this storm, you will stay safe and warm.  I have everything ready from last week, so food and fuel in my cars and filled propane tank,  I'm all set.  Please take care.   Can't wait for warmer weather!! Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

With You

I have made a card with a new Simon Says Stamp embossing folder and sentiment die, from their Heart to Heart release....
This card was simply made...my heart has been heavy,  creating has been challenging.
I have been heartbroken over what is going on in our country.  My heart goes out, especially, to the people of Minnesota...may you continue to stand strong...you are so amazing!!
I am rarely about current events with my cardmaking.  But, no matter your political affiliation, what is happening in our country is not about that...it is about what is right or wrong.  What our government is doing, saying, and asking us to believe and accept is wrong...this evil has got to end!  I want to be able to say to my grandchildren, when they ask where I was during this time, that I was on the side that stood for the rights of all people, and for our democracy.  I hope that will be you, too.

Please take care.  Lisa

Sweet Friendship

I have made a CAS card with an adorable Simon Says Stamp stamp/die set, and a heart die, both from their new Heart to Heart release...
Simply done, I stamped, die cut, and colored the rabbit and squirrel on the log.  I dotted the flower with a very small enamel dot, and adhered the two to the  card after setting them in a die cut heart panel, stamping one of the sentiments from the set.  I popped the panel up, on the cardl.
Here's a close up...
This card could be made for a friend, but I had my far away daughter in mind when I made it...I love having her around...missing her๐Ÿ’™.  Hope you have had a great weekend, and hope the coming week will be great, as well!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Brushed Pine

I have made a winter card witha couple of the cool new Simon Says Stamp dies, from their new Heart to Heart release....
I die cut and layered the border of the pine tree.  I layered it with the lighter green for the whole tree,  I then adhered two layers of the dark green for every other layer.  I die cut the snow and cut the panel down.  I tore a piece of white cardstock for the snow, and adhered the panel to the card and the tree to the panel. I added a stamped, die cut and layered sentiment  in the upper corner.
 Here's a close up..,
This was so much fun to make...what a cool tree, and love the die cut snow!  Hope you are doing okay...please take care!

Heart to Heart Blog Hop~Day 2!

I am thrilled to be a part of Simon Says Stamp's second day of hops, over at the Simon Blog, to celebrate their newest release, Heart to Heart!  I have chosen to make a couple CAS birthday cards with a cool and fun new CZ Design stamp/die set!
I stamped and die cut the "Happy" sentiment and colored it and the stamped and die cut candle in a rainbow of colors.  I layered both, and adhered them to the card between two raised panels.  I stamped one of the sentiments on the bottom panel, and added some glitter enamel dots for bling.  Here's a close up...

The second card, I used another of the fun sentiments
I stamped, die cut, and colored the "woots" in a rainbow of colors.  I used foam adhesive behind each sentiment, and adhered them to the card, inbetween a raised panel on either side.  I again, added some glitter enamel dots, and one of the sentiments from the set, stamped, cut and adhered to the card and sentiment.  Here's a close up...
Okay...I had SO much fun making my cards!!  As I always like to say...my fun was above, your fun is below!

Heart to Heart Release!

There's a new release out, today, at Simon Says Stamp..,.Heart to Heart!  The name of the release says it all...it is one filled with hearts and love!!  I have used the adorable Bundled Snoman to start off my  celebration of this wonderful release!
This die was actually offered last month as a giveaway for purchasing items from the DieCember® release.  I immediately fell in love...this little guy is SO adorable!!  I combined him with a couple sentiments from two of the new stamp/die sets.  I die cut the snowman from Simon's velvet cardstock, to give him a little more "snowy" look.  I die cut the hat and scarf, then ran them through my Big Shot with a piece of burlap on top of them...giving them texture.  I stamped and die cut the sentiments, then layered.  I used a Simon snow stencil and used embossing paste to make snow with dimension.  I layered the snowman and used the same velvet to make a snowscape for the snowman to sit on,  Here's a close up...
I have been out of commission with a bout of bronchitis...feeling a bit better, but, putting it bluntly, being sick sucks!  I am coming back and  have made a few cards with this wonderful release, but am having to play a bit of "catch up"!!  Hope you will check out the blog hops over at the Simon Blog, tomorrow and Saturday, as we really celebrate this new release, and bring some new year's inspiration to you!  Hope you will join the fun and hop alobng!  Please take care!!  Thanks for stopping by, today!  Hugs!  Lisa

Company of Flowers

I had this card in draft form since November 4th...thought with Christmas behind us, it might be time to bring out more "birthday"!...

This card was simply made, brushing ink onto a die cut flower and stem/leaves.  I did mask the flower and the stem when brushing on color to the other.  I die cut the center for the flower, but gave it a hint of texture by running it through my big shot on a piece of burlap.  I slightly curled the petals by curling them around one of my Prisma markers.  I tell you the type of marker, as they are a little big around...just wanted to give the petals a hint of curve... I curled them in all directions.  I then stamped a Simon Says Stamp sentiment  and added some enamel dots for bling.  Here's a close up...

Still love it after 2 months...simplicity makes me happy!!  Hope you are settling into the new year okay.  I have been a bit sick, so, for me, not so much...but it could be much worse!!  Please take care!!
Thank you so much for stopping by, today..hope you have a great day!  Hugs!  Lisa
