Favorite Things Blog Hop~Day 2!

I am thrilled to be a part of day 2 of hops, celebrating Simon Says Stamp's newest release, Favorite Things, over at the Simon Blog!  I have used one of the new stamp/die sets, to make a couple cards, one for Easter, the other could be for everyday!
I stamped and die cut the eggs and flowers, then colored.  I dotted the flower centers and the dots on the eggs with white enamel accents.  I popped them up on a panel with a couple of the cute sentiments,  I colored and cut strips of color, using the same markers as I used to color the eggs.  I cut the small colored pieces in strips, and then cut the strips in 1/2, putting one half of the strips on the top of the card, the other on the bottom,  Here's a close up...

The second card, I used three more of the stamps...the cute chicks in their shells with another of the cute sentiments...
These little guys are so stinkin' cute!  I stamped, die cut and colored all three, then layered.  I adhered them to a panel with embossed diagonal stripes.  I then popped up the panel on the card.  Here's a close up...
Okay...I had SO much fun making my cards!!  My fun was above, your fun is below!

BIG Thanks!

I have made a card with a super cute new Simon Says Stamp stamp/die sets from their latest Favorite Things release!.
This set has a number of cute hippos, and cute sentiments to go with them!  I chose the simplest of them, colored him, layered him and adhered him to a card that I had embossed some hearts, then colored and glossy accented three of the hearts.  I used the same markers that I had used to color the hippo, and made striped panels for either side of the card,  The card is a little bit shorter and thinner than an A2 card, took adjusting due to the stripes.  It took me a while and many tries of different layouts and backgrounds, to be happy, but I like how this guy turned out!  Here's a close up..

There was a blog hop over at the Simon Blog today, celebrating this wonderful new releasem, and there'll be another tomorrow...can't wait!  I hope you will hop along!!

Favorite Things Release!

Today is release day at Simon Says Stamp, the Favorite Things release is here!  I have used one of the beautiful new embossing folders and made a thank you card!...
I don't know what the name of the technique is, but you used the debossed side of the embossed panel, and color the images.  THEN, you swipe the whole panel with a black ink pad!  When it is covered, it only shows the colored debossed images!  It is SOOOOOO much fun to do...kind of like wonderful magic when the black covers everything ...especially the overcoloring!!  Below is a picture of the tulips and butterflies before swiping them with black...
I added a die cut and layered thank you...leaving it white.  Here's a close up...
I hope you will check out the release over at SIMON!  There are two blog hops, tomorrow and Saturday, over at the Simon Blog...hope you will hop along with us...see you there!
Thanks for stopping by!! Hugs!! Lisa

Happy St Patrick's Day Clovers

I have made a St Patrick's Day card, using a fun new Simon Says Stamp stamp/die set fromTo Love release their...
I stamped and die cut the four leaf clovers, then layered,  I stamped the clovers on a card panel, with fog colored ink and then stamped the Happy St. Patrick's Day stamp on the fog colored panel. I adhered the clovers to the panel, then popped up the panel on the card.  Here's a close up,...
I am like 1/2 Irish, so I make the corned beef brisket and cabbage on March 17th...just like my dad used to.   I also added one of my own traditions...I buy a box of green colored Lucky Charms, made for St. Patrick's day, and enjoy eating them on, and for several days after St. Patrick's Day...FUN!!!!

Pixie Dust Flowers...Thinking of You

I have made a card with a very cute and also pretty Simon Says Stamp stamp/die set from their To Be Loved release...
This stamp set has some little fairy images, but I was smitten with the pretty large flower in the stamp set, and decided to make it my whole card!  I stamped, die cut and colored the flowers and stem(again, I am not much of a colorer, but enjoyed my attempt at coloring!).  I added a sentiment from another Simon stamp set, and popped up the panel on a card.  The card is a little longer and a bit thinner than an A2 card.  Here's a close up...
I had so much fun making this card...love how a single flower stem can fill up a card, and had fun coloring!  Hope you have had a great day!  Please take care!

Daisy Love

I have made a couple cards using stamps and dies from a fun Simon Says Stamp set from their To Be Loved release
I originally stamped five of the flowers and stems, wanting to put them all on one card.   I die cut and colored all five.   I soon realized that all five on a card was too much, so I have made two cards using two of the five flowers!  This first one, I embossed flowers on a yellow piece of cardstock, and then on a green piece, but couldn't decide which one I wanted the flower to have as a background, but kind of liked both of them together, at a bit of an angle.  I added a sentiment, and adhered the colored background papers directly to the card...an unusual thing for me, but, again, I kind of liked it.  Here's a close up...

The second one was actually my first one I made...
I used the same embossing folder for both cards, this time with white cardstock.  I framed the white panel with black cardstock, and stamped the sentiment from the set, onto the white panel.  I liked the white panel on white background, but liked the texture of the embossed panel.  Here's a close up...
I love this small flower!!  And the cool thing is, I have THREE more, in a little zip lock bag, ready to make more cards when time or need allows!  Hope you have a great weekend!!  Take care!!

Vintage Love Note

I have made a card using the stamps and embossing folder from the Simon Says Stamp February Card Kit (which is sold out, but I have links to the individual sets below), and the stamp set's coordinating die set....
I stamped and die cut the flower, then colored.  The ink of the leaves is kind of close together, so coloring them didn't show up so well, even the center of the flower, because the stamp images have a lot more ink.  I stamped the musical score in light fog colored ink...just wanted it to be very subtle.  I used a similar yellow from the flower's center, for the background of the stamped panel.  I embossed the yellow panel with the embossing folder from the kit.  I layered the flower, and popped up the musical, flowered panel on the card.  Here's a close up...
Hope you will have a fantastic weekend.  The 10" of snow is quickly melting here in Virginia...it's it has been alot of fun for the grand babies(and me), to play in, everything snow covered...it has been beautiful, if only for a few days!  Please take care!!

Sending Blooms of Love

I have made a card with a beautiful Simon Says Stamp die from their To Love release...
I usually brush color onto white cardstock for my flowers and leaves, but this time, I used colored cardstock. I still brushed accent color onto the flowers and leaves, but the pink of the flower, and the green of the stem/leaves is colored cardstock...switching it up:)!  I used enamel accents on the tips of the stamens for some dimension, using an off white paper for the stamens.  I used thin frames layered to frame the flowers and sentiment, and adhered them to a pink (the same as the flowers)panel, with embossed stripes(a very old, very loved PTI texture plate).  Here's a close up...
It snowed here in VA yesterday and into early morning today...very rarely happens here...and this was not just a "dusting", as we frequently get...we got around 8"!!!  Family is visiting, so it's going to be FUN seeing them enjoy the snow!!  Hope you have some fun in your Thursday...take care!

Leafy Thank Yous

I was in need of a couple thank you cards, and, using some Simon Says Stamp dies and a CZ Design die, here's what I came up with...
I die cut two sets of leaves from white cardstock, and colored by brushing on two inks.  I then die cut two of the same leaves from vellum for each card, and colored the back of one set, by brushing on one of the same inks(field).  I then adhered them together and onto the card.  I die cut and layered the sentiment from silver cardstock, and adhered.  Here's a close up...

The second one, very similiar to the first...
The only difference with this one, is that I used a different sentiment.  I used a more block type print sentiment. The first card is for a woman, the second is for a man, and not to stereo type, but I thought the scripty print more fit with the woman I was sending the card to, and the block print (not knowing the man), would easily fit a guy, and although I had LOTS of "With Sincere Thanks" die cuts ready, I liked the bold better !  Here's a close up...
I'm sorry...I have been absentee for the last few weeks...life.  Hope life is treating you good...please take care!

Groovy Love

I have made a card with a die and an embossing folder from Simon Says Stamp's To Love and To Be Loved releases., respectively..
I pulled some felt out of my craft closet from long ago and found four colors that "went" together(I tried a number of different color choices, but liked these best!).  I don't know about those of you who may have been crafting for a while, but I LOVE when I can use some old craft supplies and STILL love them!!  I then tried to find similar colors, and using blending brushes, brushed them on a piece of cardstock.  I then embossed it, and added a sentiment strip.  I popped both the strip and the sentiment up off the embossed panel.  Here's a close up...
Such great fun!!  This card makes me happy!  Hope you have a great weekend...please take care.

Hugs Two You!

I have made a couple cards using the Simon Says Stamp, from their To Be Loved release...
Okay...confession time.  This first card was made from couple of "withouts".  I was "without" the cognitive wherewithal to realize that the stencil I was using, coordinated with one of the new stamp sets...I could have stamped the sentiment, THEN stenciled it...but didn't...I simply stenciled.  This is not a bad thing, just might have done differently had I realized it went with a stamp set.   I also was "without" dies for that set, so I decided to cut out the sentiment with scissors.  I simply stenciled the letters together, cut out, and popped up the sentiment on an embossed (new embossing folder), and sentiment stamped panel.
Here's a close up...

The second card, I used the stamp set, stencil AND die for this "HUGS"...
I embossed with a different folder, used different colors on my letters, used one different sentiment stamp for my card, and did not pop up the panel on the card, but rather adhered it directly to the card.  Here's a close up...
I had tons of fun making my cards...what a difference the way you make it and the tools you use...well, they make a difference to a card.  I love both versions...juist both very different in their "look".  Hope you have been having a great January...I have had a very slow start to the month.  We got SNOW in VA, and I feel like a hibernating bear...all I want to do is get under a blanket and sleep!  Hoping for warmer weather in February!  Take care!!
Thanks for stopping by, today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Tumbling Flowers

I have made a card with a beautiful Simon Says Stamp embossing folder/stencil from their To Love release!...
I thought this embossing folder was so pretty, when I saw it!  What made it even more special, is that there was a coordinating stencil that you could use to color all the flowers and leaves!!  I am in love with coordinating stencils!  For a non colorer like me, having a stencil gives me the ability to color a bit better when it comes to shading...I love stamps/embossing folders with stencils!!  I used three shades of purple for the flowers, and a couple tree to color and shade the leaves, with black for the centers of the flowers.  I added a stamped and die cut sentiment, and popped it all up on a card.  Here's a close up...
I not only had SO much fun creating this card, but I LOVE the way it turned out...makes me really happy.
Happy is needed as it is in short supply these days.  My heart is broken for the people in Los Angeles...doing what I can to help, along with prayers for all people facing so much devastation and hardship...I cannot even imagine...

Sweetheart Box

I have made a box of sweets for Valentine's Day!  I used a cute new die from Simon Says Stamp's
I die cut the box from an older piece of 12x12 cardstock from my stash.  The die makes a box bigger than a 6x6 paper will accommodate, so even though I had a lot of pads of patterned paper, they were too small.  I did want a printed piece of paper, so happy to have found a large piece of heart filled paper for this project.  I then die cut a window from the box with one of the hearts from the set, and adhered a piece of acetate over the inside of the window.  I adhered all the sides of the box together, filled the box with Valentine's Day candy(peanut M&M's), and tied a ribbon around the box.  I added layered x's and o's in the corner of the box.
Here's kind of a side view...
Here's a close up of the window and sentiment...

What great fun!  I have had this adorable box done since before Christmas, but had no valentine's candy to put in it at Christmas time....one month from tomorrow...the day of love!
