For Mom

It's release day at Simon Says Stamp!!  The newest release, Blossoms and Butterflies, is wonderful, and I 've made a card with a beautiful die, Outline Floral Mom die, just perfect for Mother's day, or ANY day for Mom...
I received amazing and wonderful stamps, dies and stencils from Simon for this release, but the beautiful Outline Floral Mom Die that I made today's card with, came in my mailbox late last night.  I rarely share my life on my blog, but my mom passed away almost three weeks ago, and life, of late, has been really challenging.  I had made other cards for this release, but last night and this morning, I HAD to make a card with this die!  I must admit, creativity is also challenging right now, and this card took me MANY attempts at colors and patterns for the "MOM", but I'm happy with it.   More than that, I created a Mom card...some bittersweet happiness in it all.  I will give it to one of my son-in-laws for their moms.
I die cut the die four times in white, and one time each in 4 colored cardstocks...2 pink and 2green.  I filled in the flowers and leaves, then die cut the letters from some old Lawn Fawn patterned paper, and added some pink rhinestones(remember those??) on and in the flowers.  Here's a close up...
I'm thinking I will be making another card with this die...it is soooooo pretty and and I have 2 son-in-laws with moms:)!! You could put ANY sentiment on the inside...so it's possibilities are endless!!
Hope you will check out the new release, and join Simon for a two day Blog Hop full of artists showcasing the release tomorrow(I'll be there),  and Saturday!
Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

  2. I rarely comment on blogs any more due to time constraints, but I wanted let you know that I’m praying for you. Cherish your memories. Sending a virtual hug to you. I’m sure one of your sons-in- law would be honored to give this special card to their mom and that your mom sees and knows she is loved.

  13. So sorry to hear of your loss Lisa. I noticed you'd been absent and hoped it was for a happier reason. Your mother would have been thrilled to receive a beautiful card like this, you are so talented, and one of the reasons I spend so much money on dies and card stash :-)

  15. I'm coming in late here, but all the same my deepest regrets for your loss. A Mum is a Mum is a Mum. Forever. The only small consolation is that you have her in fond memory - and she you, I'm sure. Hope you can find some relief in making your gorgeous cards.

  16. Hi Lisa, this is an going to be an odd "comment" but life has been "ODD" for me for the past few months and I feel compelled to do this. I originally saw this post on April 12th, and my heart broke for you... not knowing what was just ahead for me. On April 16th, only 4 days later, I would begin the journey of loosing my own mother. She passed away last month. I guess because you had just gone thru it yourself, and because you created some of the most beautiful Mom cards (like this one) I kept you & your loss in my thoughts & prayers. I hope you are doing OK, & just wanted you to know I haven't forgotten.
