I used the fun new Simon Says Stamp Birthday Numbers stamps/dies set to make a couple cards for my amazing Noah's birthday this month!!...
He IS Noah, so rainbows are totally a MUST(he is MY rainbow, and although I love rainbows, he is the reason I REALLY love rainbows like I do!!)
This first card was actually my second card, when the first one didn't turn out as I planned. For this card, I stamped, embossed, and die cut the numbers. I used an acetate sheet as a "ruler" on the letters, to color them with a striped patten. My coloring with markers wasn't perfect, but it turned out pretty good. I simply moved the piece of acetate up the number, coloring the number up to the end of the acetate, using acetate, I could see where I was and where I wanted to be. I stamped the candles and flames from the Simon Birthday Borders stamp set with my MISTI for positioning. I also added a sentiment from the Tiny Words stamp set. I added some Wink of Stella glitter to my numbers:)! Here's a close up
This second card was actually my first attempt, but it went through some changes before it made the cut...
I used strips of patterned paper, adhered to a light weight piece of cardstock, then stamped the numbers onto the striped papers. I THOUGHT I was going to cut out the patterned paper numbers and add them onto stamped and die cut numbers, but they just didn't look right...😞. Soooo, I left them as they were, without the depth, over a border of "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" stamped sentiments. I stamped the sentiments with my MISTI for perfect placement. I did, however, stamp from top to bottom of an entire card, but another of the things that didn't make it, I cut two of them off, added a black strip, and popped up over a blue patterned piece of cardstock, like the patterned paper of the numbers. Here's a close up...
These numbers are fun...and have wonderful possibilities, colored, made from patterned paper, die cut or hand cut...FUN!! Thanks for visiting me today!!
Hugs!! Lisa
