Baby Shower Thank Yous

I have a set of cards to show you today, that I made two and one-half YEARS ago...yes 2 1/2 years ago!!  Simple thank you cards that I made for my sister's girlfriend's daughter, after she had her baby...
After giving the mom several choices, she chose a onesie with a flower, and I made 50 thank you cards for her baby shower.  I used Bazzill textured paper for the onesies...layering twice.  Don't know if you are like me and have/save scraps, but you would not believe all the scraps I was able to use up on these onesies...using scrap cardstock for the underneath layers.  The only thing I regret about these cards is the white embossing powder I used back then...it was not REALLY white.  I now use WOW bright white embossing powder, and IT IS SOOOO MUCH whiter than the white powder I used when I made these cards!!  I decided to put the cards in a box, and decorate the box(a keepsake, maybe?!).  The patterned paper I used was from Papertrey Ink(I think it was Soft Blush, which I don't think they make patterned in this color any longer 😞), and made 4 different cards using the different patterned papers for the backgrounds and a contrasting pattern for the flowers(the flower punch is from EK Success)...and used the paper, as well, for covering the box...
Here's a close up of the cards...
I am a collector of those boxes you get perfumes and colognes in for Christmas (they are SUPER sturdy, well built boxes), and had a White Diamonds box that I used for these cards...perfect in it's size as it perfectly fit 2 cards across and 2 cards down!  I adhered the 4 patterned papers together for the top and bottom of the box, wrapped it around and adhered it to the box,
and then added a ribbon over where the patterned papers came together on the top of the box...
...and on the bottom of the box as well...
I also decided to divide the cards by adding some chipboard strips in between the 4 cards to keep them contained in their rightful places within the box...
This was my second baby shower, and not sure what I think about making so many of the same card, but always fun!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

  1. What an ADORABLE gift idea! The simplicity of your design adds a special elegance to it. As Mom to 3 now grown daughters - I would have been ALL OVER this back in my baby shower thank-you needing days! :)

  4. Lisa, I love these simple but elegant thank you notes. The good news, I went and checked the PTI site and found that they do still have these patterns in sweet blush and many other colors. Hope that helps someone who wants to CASE your gorgeous cards and presentation box.

  5. Really cute cards, Lisa. Love the box cover as well! I had the same problem with white embossing powder while working on holiday cards last year, and switched to the WOW Bright White at that time.

  6. So cute Lisa. And I am going to buy some of that Wow embossing powder, as mine is always a bit creamy looking too.

  7. What a beautifully sweet idea!! The cards, the box, all coordinated so perfectly. I'm gonna be a grandma (again) in early October, they have 2 boys under 3 years old and this time they are having a girl! Definitely a very sweet inspiration! Thank you so much!
