I wanted to show you what I did with som sheets of gems I got a while ago at AC Moore. I got them for an "idea" I had, but never used them...playing with them the other day, I came a couple steps closer to using them up...and I thought that encouragement alone, worthy of sharing with you!! Here's what I came up with...
I used two tear drop gems put together for each heart...the sentiment is a Simon Says Stamp sentiment from the Mother's Day stamp set. I used a die from the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Slopes and Hills set, to emboss a stitched pattern onto the card panel on which to place my gem hearts and to curve my sentiment around. I put a dot of black enamel accents in between the sentiments. Here's a close up...
I dotted the middles of each flower with enamel accents to give the flowers a little definition...
Just in case you're interested, this is what my sheets look like...

I then used some of my little flower gems to make a heart shaped birthday card...
A great start to using them up, I'd say!! Hope you have a great weekend:)!! Thanks for visiting me today!!

Gorgeous cards and very clever ideas. I may have to borrow them, I have a couple birthdays this next week and need to get some quick cards made.......I think I have all those shaped gems too.

Clever! I'm always drawn to buying them... and then not sure how to use them. Love these ideas.
ReplyDeleteExcellent way to use up those gemstones! I've been on the sequin kick and haven't done a thing with gemstones. The cards are so pretty and sparkly.
ReplyDeletegreat idea and the cards are lovely!
ReplyDeleteThese are darling, Lisa! Great use of the gem stones.
ReplyDeleteLisa, you always come up with such clever ideas, I love bling but end up holding onto it for too long. This is such a nice way to use it up. The cards look brilliant, I totally love them. Could just imagine giving to my granddaughter, she would love them.
ReplyDeleteMok, you are definitely the card genius for the week! I have so many pack of gemstones and no use for them so you have me thinking.....
ReplyDeleteThose cards are really beautiful. I am all about trying to use up old embellishments, etc. that I have bought and hardly used. I am "TRYING" to rid my craft room of old things I have bought so I am not wasting money.
ReplyDeleteLisa, this was such a great idea you came up with, and the results are beautiful !!
ReplyDeleteLoving both these cards so much, thank you for sharing, xo
