A Duo of Happy Trios!

I want to thank the ladies at CAS(E) this Sketch for the recognition of my card last week...what an honor...and such an unexpected and wonderful surprise!!!  This week's sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch is just like last week... when I saw it I IMMEDIATELY knew what I was going to do!!  Here's my card for the challenge, and the sketch...

I had gotten the My Favorite Things Happy Trio die set having "happy" in graduated sizes with the same font...PERFECT for this sketch...LITERALLY the sketch, right?!!   I used them with some of my favorite Doodlebug rainbow colored patterned paper and a cut up Simon sentiment to make a happy birthday card of rainbows.  I adhered 12...yes TWELVE 1/4" strips of the different colors of patterned papers to a thin piece of cardstock and die cut then layered the sentiments.  I adhered the layered die cuts to a white card...ahh...the white space...LOVE!!  Here's the remaining piece of my patterned paper strips after I got done die cutting the different sized "happys" from it...

I have another one that I made BEFORE I made the one above...solid "happys"die cut from paint chips, adhered onto striped rainbow-like paper.  I thought I'd put it on this post, along with the challenge card...

I glossy accented the sentiments on this one..honesty time...I got glue on my fingers and then on my letters, so glossy accenting the sentiements was the only way  to fix the gluey mess that showed itself on the die cut sentiments...I like it...a not so bad mistake...

Merry "Little" Christmas

Simon Says Stamp just came out with the Advent Plus Release ...a wonderful collection of stamps and dies to make Advent calendars, along with beautiful envelopes and tags for Christmas card and gift giving!  I used two of the images from the Advent Holiday Icons stamp set to make a couple Christmas cards each with a little image and a sentiment from the Simon Christmas Essentials stamp set from the recent Believe in the Season release.  It went PERFECTLY with my little snowman and candy canes!!...

Minimalist...right??!!  I thought it really cute:):)!! Cut out with scissors, and colored the images with Sharpie markers. Paired the images and sentiment with some old Stampin' Up striped paper...Here's a close up...

PEACE

I had my Simon Says Stamp Big Peace dies on my work desk, and, with some patterned paper, made a "PEACEfull" Christmas card ...

I love to look up what colors are associated with words.  Love is red, joy is yellow, and peace is green...so I decided to pull out my Doodlebug patterned paper and gathered all the greens to use for my BIG PEACE!   I used 1/4" strips of seven papers adhered together to make the letters of the PEACE into multi colored/patterned letters that looked the same all the way across the card.  After die cutting, I layered them, and then used a piece of white and green textured paper to adhere them to.  I made a stitched border to give the sentiment a kind of frame.  Here's a close up...

CAS(E) this Sketch...Thankful

I only had one thought when I saw this week's sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch!...I used dies for the images, and for the sentiment as well.  Here's my card and the sketch...

I used the Floral Flaps dies from Papertrey Ink and the new Thankful die from Simon Says Stamp...both layered, and filled in the flower with Fall colors in combo with the sentiment.  I thought these Flap dies to be the perfect shape for the sketch:):).  Here's a close up...

JOY

A card made with the Simon Says Stamp "JOY" die and the brand new "Winter Flowers"stamp set for the leaves and berries...

 I die cut and layered the JOY, then stamped the leaves and berries with versa mark and clear embossed the berries, gold embossed the leaves.  Adhered them to a cream colored panel and then popped up on a gold panel to match the sentiment.  Here's a close up...

On the inside of the card, I stamped a sentiment from Simon's Inside Holiday stamp set that I thought SO went with the "JOY", stamped again with versa mark and gold embossed...

Five Minute Thank You Card

I simply love the sentiments from the new Simon Says Stamp set, Thankful Heart!!  The one that I used on today's card is wonderfully large, meaningful and has a beautiful script!  I simply combined it with three stamped leaves to make a simply sweet thank you...

The leaves are also from Simon Says Stamp...Leaves and Scribbles stamp set.  I stamped the colored inks on the stamps, then spritzed them with Ink Potion No. 9 by Tsukineko.  I had purchased it out of curiosity at Michael's many moons ago...thought it would be a great technique on these leaves. Simply spray from a distance onto the stamp BEFORE stamping, and it gives a cool, splotchy affect to the stamped images.  I stamped the sentiment with Simon Sparrow colored ink, with my MISTI, so I could stamp it twice for darkness, then clear embossed.  Here's a close up...

This sentiment would be WONDERFUL in black, or in gold, with 3 hearts, 3 snowflakes, 3 flowers....oh, how I LOVE the endless, simple possibilities!!
