CAS(E) this Sketch 169...Love and Hugs

The sketch this week at CAS(E) this Sketch was one where I was kinda scratching my head, but am trying to challenge myself, and I had an idea, so here's my take on the sketch and the sketch...

I used the My Favorite Things Lots of Love dies, Simon Says Stamp Holiday Shapes and Stitched Rectangles, and the discontinued Papertrey Ink Simple Stripes Impression Plate.  I layered the "love & hugs" 4x, using some rainbow patterned paper (Doodlebug). Popped up the panel over the die cut out hearts(I positioned 6 already die cut hearts with a t-ruler...THEN die cut).   Here's a close up...
I love CAS(E) this Sketch...their sketches rock!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Favorite Mom

Another card made with the Simon Says Stamp Mothers Day Zingers stamp set...
I combined a couple of the sentiments on the front of the card embossed in gold, along with the adorable birds from the Simon Stacking Animals stamp set.  I stamped and paper pieced the birds and stamped them again on top of the sentiments, then adhered the paper pieced to the panel.  The gold twine is actually Stampin Up gold thread braided with 5 strands of thread...(when I got it on ebay, I didn't know it was so fine, so I braid it and make it thicker and stable, to use for cards:)!)Here's a close up of the birdies...
A funny on the outside...THEN...on the inside...the zinger:):)!!!...
Oh yeah...love these sentiments!!!  Can't wait to think up another card using these stamps!!  As always...such fun!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Mother's Day Funnies

There's a new set of Mother's Day sentiment stamps from Simon Says Stamp that are hilarious!! The set is called Mother's Day Zingers...and I just LOVE them(these two cards are going to be given to my daughters to give to ME for Mother's Day:):):)!!!).  I combined the sentiment with a Paper Smooches flower die and a My Favorite Things Edge die for the first one...
Pretty on the outside...funny on the inside!!...

The second one, I combined with another Paper Smooches stamp...the baby elephant was perfect...
...for yet another of the funny sentiments!!  My daughter, Emma, LOVED this one, as it really is her and me:):)!!...
Get it??  The "rolled" eye??  I love  the thought of funny for Mother's Day...what FUN!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Enjoy the Little Things

Simon Says Stamp had a new release today...My Favorite!  I was thrilled to receive the new set, Beautiful Ride and it's coordinating set of dies and made a card with a couple of the little images to share with you today:)!...
This set comes with a lot of sweet stamps...an amazing looking bicycle, baskets, and all kinds of goodies that you can put in those baskets, along with some wonderful sentiment stamps! I chose to use the little bag and flowers to make my card...thought they went perfect with this sentiment stamp!!  I used a couple stamps from the Simon Basic Stripes set to give the background a little texture.  I used the Simon Stitched Rectangles for the flowers and the outside edge of the background panel.  Here's a close up...

And then, for some color!!  I used the You Are My Favorite die and made a simple, layered underneath, card...
 Here's a close up...
Hope you will check out all the wonderful new stamps and dies...there's a lot of fun over at Simon today!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Sail Away Birthday Cards

My amazing son-in-law turned 30 a couple days ago!  He had a "Hook" themed party, so I made him a remake of a pirate card I had made a couple years ago.  While out on my desk, I decided to use the Simon Says Stamp sailboat die(such a cute little die!!) I had opted NOT to use for his card, to make another birthday card...

I decided to die cut three different striped patterned papers for my sailboats, layered them, then mixed them up when I adhered them to the card.  I used a sentiment from Simon Jumbo Stripes stamp set.  Here's a close up...

Oh...here's the card I made for my amazing Nic...
It's A LOT like the  one I made HERE...there are not a lot of pirate stamps out there...love this Clearly Besotted set!    I versamarked the waves to give them some depth of color.  Here's a close up of the card I made for Nic...
Hope you have a marvelous Monday:)!!   Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
