I haven't been in many challenges of late, but had an idea for a simple but meaningful card for this week's Less is More challenge, where the theme is ANIMAL. Our bichon, Lucy, is 14 1/2 years old, and one week ago was striken with vestibular disease, sometimes called old dog disease...a disease that looks like stroke...kind of. Dogs will generally recover in time, but may still have a slight wobble or tilted head. It has been hard to see our crazy little girl getting old as she slowly regains her equilibrium and ability to get around this last week. With the difficulty of this last week, this card really speaks to me...
The heart/paw print is Paper Smooches, the sentiment is Papertrey Ink. I layered the outline and paw prints 3 times, so they would pop on the red heart...looking like they are "on the heart"...

Thanks for visiting me today!!

Beautiful card that really hits home. And yes, geriatric vestibular disease is heartbreaking while you are going through it with your furbaby. Hope she has a full recovery!
ReplyDeleteToo sweet and so heartbreaking for you and your furbaby.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a sweet card. Pets become members of your family and it is always nice to remember what they do for our lives.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about Lucy's issues this week.
ReplyDeleteYour card is fabulous

Lisa this is just adorable! I love the white space with the cute paw print heart!! I had a dog with vestibular disease too. I had to keep him on Meclizine for the dizziness. He lived to be over 16 years old.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card and my prayers go to your beloved Lucy.
ReplyDeleteOutstanding CAS card! I think I need to get those sentiment stamps from PTI. Already have the dies! TFS
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet and caring card! Pet lovers would all very touched to receive a card this sweet, especially during those very hard time, when they lose a dear and beloved pet!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Lisa
awww such a cute card :)
ReplyDeleteI can empathise with you and your dog Lisa, we had a cat for 18 years who in the end went blind and had kidney problems... I always miss her when I open a can of tuna... she always used to clean up the tin!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful card and says so much!
Thanks so much
Chrissie
"Less is More"
A stunning card with a special story behind it too. My dog is 8 and don't like to imagine him getting older with problems but the day will come no doubt. Thanks for sharing your stunning card Lisa.
