Snowflake Christmas

I have made a Christmas card with a Simon Says Stamp die and stencil of a Large Snowflake, from their Sugar N Spice release!
I used the stencil of this pretty snowflake, to brush on color to the cardstock.  Not absolutely necessary for this particular card, but nice to see where you want the blues to end and begin, based on where the snowflake arms (dendrites) begin and end, and then for placement of the die cut snowflake and sentiment on the card.  I then die cut the snowflake and layered it, with a soft silver glitter piece of cardstock for the top layer.  I added a sentiment to the card, and embossed in silver, while adding some Rainbow Splash dots for snow.  Here's a close up...
Hope you have had a Happy Halloween.  I watched tv with Noah, and answered my door a whole two times for a total of about 8 children...can't beat the Trunk or Treats, these days, at least in my area!  Please take care!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Holiday Greens

I used three new dies from the Simon Says Stamp Sugar and Spice release, to make a Christmas card...
I die cut and layered the bow and sentiment, die cut in gold cardstock.  I then die cut all the flowers and leaves from cardstock and did brush on a little green ink onto the leaves. I dotted all the berries with glossy accents to give the berries a pop.   I adhered it all together, and adhered it to two panels that I had embossed with an old Papertrey Ink impression plate.  The sentiment was simple, and I thought a way to give it some more meaning was to stamp a sentiment on the inside.  I stamped it with clear ink, and gold embossed.  That was, for me, a great finish to this card!  Here's a close up of the sentiment on the inside of the card...
Here's a close up of the card...
One more day, tomorrow, before we're officially on our way to Christmas.  Yes, I know, it's really on to Thanksgiving, but Christmas cards will need to be done as soon as possible, so they can be sent out on time, so best to get a start as soon as possible!

Frosty Nordic Tree

I have made a Christmas card in blue, with a pretty new Simon Says Stamp die from their Sugar n Spice release...
This Nordic Tree die is so pretty!  I opted to use three shades of blue to create the tree, also using the darkest blue for the background.  I die cut the white panel that the tree would sit on, and embossed it with a snowfall embossing folder.  I then adhered three Splash drops onto the panel to mimic snow.  I framed the tree in silver and popped up on the blue panel and card, the background one that I opted to emboss with an old Papertrey Ink impression plate(one of my favorite!  Here's a close up...
The weather here in Virginia has officially turned a lot cooler, highs in low 60's...onward Christmas!  Hope you are having a great start to this new week! Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Candy Cane Joy

I have made a Christmas card with a  couple fun new Simon Says Stamp dies, from their Sugar and Spice release...
I thought this candy cane die was so cool... and paired with the Joy and Cheer die, a perfect combo!  I die cut and layered both the canes and sentiment.  I made the card just a tad bigger than an A2, as I wanted a border around the candy canes.  I have an envelope maker, so making a special sized envelope will be easy!  Here's a close up...
I love making Christmas cards early...it makes it so easy for sending out early!  Hope you are having a great week...almost the weekend!  Please take care!

Fall Thanks

I have made a Fall colored thank you card with a wonderful new Simon Says Stamp embossing folder, from their new Sugar and Spice release!...
This card came together with amazing ease and brought me such happiness!  I DID mist the cardstock with water before running through my Big Shot.  This embossing folder embosses deeply, the letters and words, and without misting, the cardstock has a tendency to rip a bit at the deepest embossing points.  Misting with water makes the cardstock more supple when it goes through the machine, and thus no tears.  I do use a very thick cardstock, so it might not happen of as much, if you are using a thinner cardstock. It might be best to try out with a small piece of cardstock before using a full size piece of cardstock.  I then went through my cardstock scraps (and a few full size pieced papers), to find some pretty Fall colored papers.  I cut them in strips, and adhered them together on a thinner piece of paper.  I die cut them with the background of the Fancy Thank You die, and then adhered a die cut and layered sentiment to the colored background.  I popped the sentiment up, on the embossed panel, that I had glued to the card,  Here's a clsose up...
This card was such fun...and wound up being a thank you card for someone who helped me with some very difficult computer problems!!  I hope you are enjoying this new release..this  is such a versatile embossing folder...you could make the background of the thank you all kinds of color for seasons, or holidays, occasions of all kinds...I love it!!  Please take care!!

Sugar and Spice Blog Hop - Day 2!

I am so thrilled to be a part of today's Simon Says Stamp Blog Hop, celebrating their newest release, Sugar and Spice, over at the Simon Blog!  I chose one of the wonderful and super Christmassy new dies, Intimate Bottle Brush Tree die, to make a couple Christmas cards!
This first card, I used Simon silver and gold glittered paper, die cut, I adhered the two pieces of the tree together, layering the bottom layer with an extra layer, to make them stand out just a bit, on the card.
I used a sentiment from a Simon stamp set from a previous release, and popped up the panel on the card.
 Here's a close up...
The second card, I used the same tree, with a different color theme...
I used some Simon pastel glitter papers, along with a light purple one.  I had also die cut the small trees, but opted to use a rainbow of just the large ones...except I couldn't figure out a layout on an A2 card...until I thought of a mini slimline!  PERFECT for all five trees.  THEN...the sentiment and IT'S placement??  I found a sentiment I loved for all these pretty trees, and thought of the label die I could use, only trouble was, the sentiment was two layers of wording, not a single long line like I wanted for the base of the trees.  SO...I tried masking and stamping MANY times, the results always looking terrible. I then did what I learned from Jennifer McGuire, and will never forget...she cut some of her sentiment stamps...so...I cut my sentiment stamp.  I lined it up, stamped it, and voila...it was the perfect length as my lined sentiment for the base of the trees. I loved the sentiment label die, too...went so well for this sentiment!  This size card is PERFECT for a money gift for Christmas...just FYI...
Here'a a close up....
Okay...I had SO much fun making my cards!!  As I always like to say...my fun was above, your fun is below!

Sugar and Spice Release!

There's a new release, today, at Simon Says Stamp...Sugar and Spice!  I have used a beautiful new leaf die, along with sentiments from a Simon set released last October, to make a Christmas card to start off this wonderful new release!...
I die cut the leaf die and colored by brushing ink onto the leaves.  I masked off the berries, and colored them with a red marker, after coloring the leaves.  I then dotted the berries with Glossy Accents to give them a little gloss and berry look.  I layered each of them, then adhered them to a panel that I had embossed with a Simon embossing folder.  I then popped it up on a silver panel adhered to a card.  I stamped the sentiments, embossed with silver, die cut, layered, and popped them up in the wreath of leaves.  Here's a close up...
I hope you will check out the new release over at Simon!  There are also two blog hops, tomorrow, October 8th, and Saturday, the 9th, over at the Simon Blog...hope you will hop along...and get inspired, big time!!  Please take care!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Ferris Wheel on World Card Making Day!

Happy World Card Making Day!!
I have made a card using a sweet and fun new die from Simon Says Stamp's STAMPtember® release...
I don't know about you, but some of my best childhood memories were riding on a ferris wheel.  Maybe someone out there is from Western NY or a little beyond...Fantasy Island in Grand Island, or Roseland in Canandaigua...two of my favorite places to go when I was little.  So...this die really was one that I just HAD to make a card with!  I happened to find a sentiment in my vast stash, that went perfectly with this cutie, and my ferris wheel card was complete.  Here's a close up...
Hope you've been able to get creative, today...no matter where you are, or what you're doing!  Please take care!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
