Have a Chill Day

I used the fun new CZ Design Beachy Keen stamp/die set from Simon Says Stamp's newest Let's Chill release, to make a fun card, that, with the right sentiment inside, could be for many occasions...
I used the popsicle stamp and die, and stamped it with a bunch of Simon Saturated inks(I've listed them below).  I die cut and layered them.  I used the most perfect sentiment for them, from the set, stamping with versamark and black embossing.  I used an old and no longer available chevron die, embossing the cardstock.  I adhered them all to the panel, and popped it up on the card.  Here's a close up...
Had lots of fun with my rainbow of popsicles!!  Hope you have had some time today and will have some this coming weekend, to chill...we all need it!!

Embossed Alstroemeria

A second post for today with another beautiful Simon Says Stamp embossing folder/die set from their new Let's Chill release, and Alstroemeria...
I die cut and then embossed the flower.  I used my markers to color the flower and stem/leaves.  I then accented the dots common to these flowers with a thin black marker.  I added a layered silver die cut and layered CZ Design sentiment, and adhered the both to a paneled card with the total folder's embossing on it, adhering the flower to the spot on the panel with over the exact flower.  Here'a a close up...
I'm having a lot of fun with these embossing folder/die sets...
Thanks for taking a look, today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Embossed Butterflies

I have used the pretty new Simon Says Stamp Graceful Butterfly Embossing folder and die set from the Let's Chill release, to make a couple cards with embossed butterflies...
I first die cut the butterfly, then sent it through my Big Shot in the embossing folder.  I then colored the wings of the butterflies with markers and used the body/ antenna dies from the die set for their bodies.  The bodies didn't seem to be meant for these little guys, so I cut down the antennae and bodies with my scissors...rounding the edges so they looked like they were made for them. I then blended a rainbow of inks on the card panel.  I added a die cut and layered sentiment, some tonic drops, and adhered the butterflies.  I popped up the panel on the card.  Here's a close up...
The second one, I was intrigued with the thought of using a metallic...
Simon has come out with some beautiful new metallic cardstock...Rose Gold!  So, I die cut the butterflies, sent them through the Big Shot, in the embossing folder, and adhered to a panel with a sentiment that left me leaving out one of the butterflies.  Simply done...love!!  Hoping the recipient "gets it"?!  Here's a close up...
This month has literally FLOWN by!!  I hope you are having a good week, and hope by stopping by, that maybe you smiled...happiness to you!!  Be safe and take care!!  Lisa

One Die, Two Different Flowers

I used the beautiful Spellbinders Sunflowers and Ladybugs die set, to make a card with a sunflower...and then used it to make a card with a daisy!...
I have combined both cards with the same Simon Says Stamp sentiment die, but with different backgrounds.
I started out by using it as it was intended, as a sunflower.  I die cut three of the petals, and then used a scoring tool, to make lines in some of the petals and bend some of them, giving the flower some added interest and dimension.  I did the same with the leaves.  The center is made up of little star type die cuts that I used an old Stampin Up piercing pad to push each in the center with a rounded piercing tool, and make them slightly rounded.  I then adhered them to the center, first using some glue dots, and with the ones on the outer places, just plain glue.  I chose a pretty new Simon embossing folder, with sunflowers, for the background.  I added the layered sentiment and popped up the panel on the card.  Here's a close up...

Then, I thought...hmmm...if I just make the petals white and the center smaller and yellow, I could make a daisy...so I tried it...
I made it just like the first, except for the background. At the end, I decided I liked it with no leaves...I liked all the wonderful white with just the pop of yellow, so no leaves.  The background was done with a light gray paper, and the My Favorite Things Itsy Bitsy Polka Dots background stamp. I stamped with versamark and white embossed.  I used my Misti and made sure that I swiped the paper with my static bag before stamping and embossing.  Here's a close up...
Okay, not going to lie, these cards were fun to make and they make me happy!  Hope you are having a great middle-of-the-week day!

Embossed Sunflowers

I have used the pretty new embossing folder from the Simon Says Stamp Sunflower Field Embossing folder/die set, from Simon's Let's Chill release, to make a couple cards.  The war in Ukraine has been going on for four months, now, but the Ukrainian people are always on my heart.  My cards are made with them in mind...
This first one, I embossed the cardstock and used markers to color the flowers and background.  It's a little rustic, but I thought it looked cool.  I added part of the CZ Design Hello Sunshine die, cutting the "hello" off the die cut, and layered it three times.  I added a sentiment strip, cutting one of the words off the strip, lots of cutting to get the words I was feeling just right. Popped up the panel on a card.  Here's a close up...
The second one, I used a Simon ink and my brayer, to add the blue to the background...a very different look...
It is interesting how a brayer shows so much more of the background, that I didn't color as the background with my first card...and again, rustic looking, but I like it!  I rolled blue ink on the "flat" side of the folder...the side with the indents, not the raised areas.  I then ran it through my Big Shot.  After a couple times through, there were still a couple bare spots.  I used one of the very cool new detail blending brushes to fill in the color...love having a tiny brush to blend color into the needed bare spots!  I then colored the petals and centers of the flowers with markers.  I added an older, layered Simon sentiment die, with a piece of vellum behind it, and popped up the panel on the card.  Here's a close up...
Hope you are having a week filled with sunshine!

Hello Sunshine!

A card made with a CZ Design sentiment die and sentiment strip from Simon Says Stamp's newest release, Let's Chill!...
I knew that I had to have a sunshine of some kind as a background for this die, and fell in love with the look of the Simon Burst behind it!  It's an older die, and I blended some Sunbeam ink on cardstock and then cut the burst from the inked paper.  I had it plain white behind the burst, at first, but when I blended some more ink in the area behind the burst, I liked it much better!  I added a layered, pink heart as a dot to the "i" and added the sentiment strip underneath the layered sentiment die.
Here's a close up...
It has been the most beautiful day, here in Virginia, that I can remember, for June ...77° and 26% humidity. and 7mph wind...SOOOO wonderful!!!  I walked this morning and collected litter, mowed the grass this afternoon, and have the windows open as I'm writing this!  I have THOROUGHLY enjoyed this day...hope you have had a wonderful day, wherever you are...Happy Juneteenth, and Happy Father's Day...a day to truly celebrate!!

Let's Chill Blog Hop!

I am so thrilled to be a part of Simon Says Stamp's celebration of their newest release, Let's Chill, over at the Simon Blog today!  This release has so many wonderful new stamps, dies, embossing folder/die sets, stencils, hot plates/die sets, new inks...PURPLES...very, very cool new blending brushes, and more!!  You HAVE to check it out!!  I have chosen one hot plate/die set to make three cards to share with you today, Small Doodle Daisy, celebrating this fun new release!...
I know I have said this before, but I am a daisy lover!  When I saw this hot plate, I wanted to make a daisy with a black outline and a yellow center, the black giving the doodles a real doodlely look!  I layered each twice and popped the center one up a bit.  I used a sentiment from one of the new stamp sets, Soaring Birthday, stamped in versamark and black embossed.  Here's a close up...

The second one is the leftovers from the first...
I had this idea to use the leftover hot foil from the first daisies and put color underneath the black, to show through the daisy outlines. Different, experimental, but hey...never know until you try something!   So...this is what I did...
Daisies and rainbows...my two loves!  One color underneath the daisies wouldn't do, so, I cut 1 1/2 " squares of 8 colors of cardstock, cut them in 1/2 and adhered them to thin cardstock in a circle.  I sprayed adhesive on them and...
...adhered the black foil daisy onto the colored pieces.  I then die cut them, and...rainbow flowers!! I thought the sentiment from the  Groovy Days stamp set fit these black and rainbow, shiny daisies.  My daughters said these reminded them of the scratch off coloring papers they used to do when they were little, I thought the rainbow, the black and the patent leather like shiny black surface reminded me of the 70's...so a groovy birthday sentiment seemed perfect!  Here's a close up with the "shiny"...
The third one...keeping in the simple mode with the classic silver for the hot foil outlines...
Simply done, layered and adhered to a gray background with a sentiment from yet another of the new Simon stamp sets, Flowers for You!  Here's a close up...
As always, my fun was above, your fun is below!

Let's Chill Release!

It's Let's Chill day at Simon Says Stamp!  It's a new release that's out today, and it is ful of Summer fun!!  I have used one of the really cool new dies and a very appropriate sentiment from one of the new stamp sets, to make a card to start off this release!...
I LOVE adirondack chairs!  I have always wanted one, and hope to have one someday, I think they are beautiful, chairs!! When I saw this chair die, I immediately thought of all the fun colors you see with Adirondack chairs, these days.  I opted to die cut and layer the two chairs with the same color cardstock, so it didn't bring more attention to one than the other...just the thought I had.  I could have put them on a sandy beach, but you would more likely find me on a patio, so I chose an older Simon stamp that gave my base a stoney look.  The sentiment is from one of the new Simon stamp/die sets, Beach Huts, I thought it went perfectly with the chairs!   Here's a close up...
There is SO much fun in this release...hope you will check it out over at Simon!  There is a blog hop tomorrow and another on Saturday over at the Simon Blog...hope you'll hop along and be inspired!
Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Spellbinders June 2022 Collections Cards

I have made a couple cards to share with you today, from Spellbinders new The Right Words Collection,  and the Just Wanted to Say Collection...
This first card is from a set of dies that is designed to have lots of possiblities for the sentiment, Thank You for Your Kindness set.  The "kind" and "ness" are separate and there are a number of other sentiment dies that come with the set, so a "kind" or "kindness" card are both possible!  I chose to do rainbow of course, for my color combo for not only the flower border, as well as the sentiment.  I layered and adhered both, and added a Simon Says Stamp sentiment strip to complete the "kindness".  Here's a close up...

My second card, below is my little yellow finch amidst some flowers...
This cute little bird is made with a wonderful set of dies, Little Chickadee, with dies for everything from the beak to the tail plumes to the feet...a die for every part of him.  I die cut all the pieces and he went together very easily.  I paired him wthi a flower and branch die from an earlier collection(below), and a Spellbinders sentiment stamp(also below).  Here's a close up...
Hope you will check out the wonderful new collections over at Spellbinders. lots of fun!!
Thanks for stopping by, today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Sending You Hugs

So sorry, I have been MIA for the first half of this month...I've had a bit of creative block going on.  It might be because my craft room is pretty chaotic...and could also be a bit of life...the two can be a terrible combo to creativity! But,  I have made a really simple card to share with you today, u sing a pretty stamp/die set from Simon Says Stamp's Yay You release...
You may know this, but just because a card looks clean and simple doesn't mean it is always simple to make.  I loved the little string of hearts and the sentiments from this stamp set, but just could not...with MANY tries, get this card to make me happy.  No matter what I did, whether a striped, plain, colored patterned background, nothing looked ok.  The sentiment and hearts are little, and that can make it hard to make it "fit" a card.  Then, I had a thought to pull out the Simon Thin Frame Rectangles, and surrounding the sentiment and heart, the frame just "made it" for me...done!  The card is very simple, but in this case, it made me happy!  I stamped and clear embossed the sentiments, layered the hearts, and covered them with Tonic drops.  I layered the frame, and popped up the panel on the card.  Here's a close up...
Simon has a wonderful new release coming out tomorrow, FULL of Summer fun!!  I hope you will check back, as well as the Simon store!  Thanks for visiting me today! Hugs! Lisa
